Current Alerts For This Business
In May 2023, Ticketsales.com cooperated with BBB’s September 2022 request that the business adequately address a concerning pattern of BBB consumer complaints. At the time, the company communicated actions that it would take, or had already taken, to prevent similar complaints in the future. In response, BBB agreed to monitor the company’s BBB complaints for up to a year. The monitoring and review were completed May 2024.
Among BBB's complaint review was a concerning pattern of complaints alleging:
~Ticketsales.com does not always make it aware to consumers they are purchasing from third-party website instead of the venue website;
~misleads total amount of charges/fees, ticket acquisition, and refund policy until after purchase;
~ignored requests for assistance with tickets purchased that were never received;
~and moreover, ignored requests or no useful assistance from customer service.
After conducting a review of Ticketsales.com complaints opened within the past 12 months, BBB determined the allegations and overall pattern of complaints persist.

I wanted to purchase some tickets to a jazz concert for my wife's birthday for May 25, 2024 at the Middle * ********* in *********, N.*. so I went online to purchase the tickets not realizing that I was not on their website which i did type in correctly and it brought up ************************* ********* N.*. Middle * Jazz, so I selected the date I was looking for and found and found tickets for my wife's birthday and selected that date the tickets were to go see Bassist ************************* on May 25, 2024 at 8:45 pm the page said the tickets were $***** each I selected 4 tickets it didn't say anything about and I made sure I looked before I selected place order because that was the next page that pop up, so when I didn't see anything about any other charges I said to myself there probably isn't any because I am on the jazz clubs website, so i click on place order that's when the confirmation page pops saying my credit card has been charge $ ****** I am thinking what's this for because 4x $ ***** is $ ****** that's when I went back to check the website and saw that it was not the jazz club's website because the Middle * *********'s ticket prices for this concert were $ *****- $45.00 per ticket and even if I did agree to pay $79..00 per ticket it still doesn't come up $442.00 i tried calling them can't get anybody on the phoneBusiness response

Purchased 4 tickets to the ************************* concert in *************** in June 2024. At the time of purchase I was unaware that tickets were not even publicly available yet for the concert. It had been announced and I started looking for tickets. The intentionally deceptive nature of this site fooled me into thinking I was ordering available tickets. They were re-selling tickets that werent event released yet. Nobody had tickets to resell at that point! This seems very deceptive. How can you resell something that nobody could even purchase firsthand yet. I paid 4 times what they would be selling for when they actually went on sale from the real venue. Im very upset as I paid over $2000 for tickets. I feel tricked and scammed. I cant even find info on my order and have no idea if Ill even receive any tickets. I dont know if my tickets will be seated together or when Ill get them. I have no assurance that the tickets even exist or are legit and cant get any help from customer service. Im sick to my stomach that I was duped. I dont over 2k and have nothing yet.Business response

On 4/12/24, I sought out tickets to see a concert at ***************************************** in ********** for 9/28/24. The first sight that popped up was Ticketsales.com. I assumed this was the official sight for me to buy tickets. The prices were very high, but I went ahead and bought 2 tickets. I immediately received an an email invoice for that was twice the price. Since I had entered a "quantity 2" in the previous window, I assumed the prices I was looking at were for two tickets. I neglected to se the very small print that said "ea" next to each ticket. I then discovered that If I had bought the tickets directly from the venue, the price would have been a small fraction of what I actually paid. I immediately tried to call them to cancel the order, but I got an endless set of menu options that never got me in contact with a live representative. They presented themselves as a legitimate vendor to buy tickets at legitimate prices. It turns out that this was simply a scalping operation. As it turns outBusiness response

Today 4/13/24 | was shopping for tickets for **************** **************** happening today, I needed to buy multiple tickets quantity to 4 after that it displayed $342.00 which for that amount it had to be the tickets plus, I have to pay extra for service and taxes I thought this is **************** sales office. I went to the checkout screen, entered my credit card info the screen didnt show the total amount, I thought when I will complete the payment then I will see itemized detail purchase and the total amount. When I received the confirmation to my iPhone from the bank credit card I was shocked to see l had been charged $1820 dollars. TicketSals.com send me a confirmation email without any explanation what kind of charges they did. I thought they did a mistake and probably charge for more tickets. But it seems intentional to scam elderly people who don't have experience buying tickets online such as myself. I immediately called customer service and was told "no refunds" and suggested I sell the tickets on social media which is absurd because these tickets are general admission worth at most $560.00.When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told the supervisors don't speak with customers. I just wanted to take my two grandchildren to this show and because of these thieves maxed out my credit card. It's understandable that some places charge more than others but $342 dollars for 1 plus a hidden dollar service fee is highway robbery they set the website up to be vague about pricing so you won't know what your actually paying until they charge your credit card and then hide behind a no refund policy. These business practices are predatory and should be illegal. After this, I check direct with the office sale from ***************** and could not believe it total price for the same four seats ( $125 X 2 ticket for adults, $115 x 2 children ) total was$560.00 I have all of the screenshot in my position.Business response

They advertise tickets for $139 apiece. I told my granddaughter she could order them by the time it was through the bill was over $1000 and we didnt realize it until after it hit my bank account and they refused to give us any help and did not make it clear on the order form that it was over $1000. It made it look like it was like a $350 purchase and by the time it was done and went through my bank it was over $1000. They refused to do anything to help us, they lied about the prices. They lied about the service fees. It was never shown on the receipt that it was for over $1000 until after it went through my bank.Business response

I purchased two tickets for an event in ********** for $420. The "tickets" were emailed to me and were labeled with the event name, the venue, and a QR code. When I arrived to the event I was told the tickets were invalid. I was turned away at the door. Attempts to contact the company were unsuccessful. The box office manager at the venue who examined the tickets said that ticketsales.com is a company that should never be trusted, and that I was not the first person he met who had fake tickets from the site.Business response

ON 4/11/2024 I went on line to order tickets for **********************, to be held on April 13. I entered cal poly performing arts and Ticketsales.com came on top of my ****** search. I picked seats and ordered the tickets for $104 each with a 68 dollar service charge, surprised about the cost, but thinking I'm spending money for a good cause that it was going to support Cal Poly PAC. Then quickly after the purchase I found out that the tickets were only 20 dollars each and I had been scammed. The documents are attached to show the price on the actual website and on ticket sales.com.Business response

I was lead to believe I was buying actual tickets but after completing the transaction realized that was impossible because they weren't able to be delivered immediately. Upon further investigation I realized I had been charged double the face value and an exorbitant service fee. There is no ability to reverse the order even though I don't have goods in hand. This is unethical marketing and business practices set out to totally scam the consumer.Business response

I went to purchase tickets for an event and this company's website disguised themselves as the venue site and charged exorbitant fees. It was not until the confirmation email that it was revealed to not be the venue site. I chatted with customer service and they refused to issue a refund or cancelation. This was all within 10 minutes of placing the order.Business response
