On October 18, 2019 we paid Cornerstone Foundation Repair to come out to our home. They fixed the foundation for $4275. We have had more foundation issues with our home including our garage. We asked them to come out. Loki ***** with Cornerstone Foundation Repair arrived and as we talked indicated that we would need to pay $300/pier when the lifetime warrantee said it would be $200 pier. He refused to take measurements in the garage where he said there were visible signs of foundation problems. Each of the other foundation companies took measurements of the garage. Loki then refused to provide a proposal. He claimed we would need an engineer report first, but when he came out the first time, this was not required to provide a proposal. We had 3 other foundation repair companies come out and all provided a proposal without requiring an engineer report, but they all said that they would have an engineer come our as part of the cost. Not only was the representative, Loki *****, from Cornerstone Foundation Repair, unwilling to give us a proposal but he became dismissive, rude, and disrespectful. He addressed my concerns with demeaning responses. He does not even follow the advertised website promises--see attached document--which notes that Cornerstone Foundation Repair will provide a proposal to a person's email by the time they leave. We have waited for over 2 weeks and Cornerstone refused to provide a proposal.Business response

On October 5, 2023, Cornerstone inspected the foundation at **** ******* *****, *****, TX. It was discovered that the interior of the home, where we have never worked, has settled. It was recommended to the homeowner to engage with an independent engineer for guidance. It has yet to be determined, what, if anything, should be done to our previous work. As a side-note, it should be understood that in Texas, an independent engineer report is required before any work can be started. I have never provided a proposal for any additional work or pricing to adjust any of the previous work. Cornerstone is still willing to follow the advice of a mutually agreed upon structural engineer in accordance to our terms signed by the homeowner, I provided the documentation for the previous work at we finished In November 2019. Please note that an independent engineer made those recommendations in 2019 and followed up with a final report that reads all of our work is done based on his specifications. Please also know in our agreement that the client has signed reads we’re not responsible for any areas where we did not work or previously instal peers.

I hired Cornerstone in 2021 to repair the foundation at my house. Loki Sr. and his grandson came out to evaluate the needed repairs. Eventually, the work was completed in an efficient and professional manner. Therefore, I highly recommended the company to my parents-in-law when they needed foundation work. Unfortunately, their experience was nothing like mine!! A hole was drilled for a concrete pier straight through the main drain on their front porch. My father-in-law pointed out the pipe before the worker started drilling, but his warning was dismissed. The cleanout pipe was furthermore clearly visible in their front flower bed as the bed was cleared of shrubs after the hard freeze of Feb. 2021. The worker continued drilling where he had intended. Within days after the foundation work, the toilets, showers, and bathtubs of my parents-in-law were backing up. Cornerstone was contacted and informed of the problem. My parents-in-law were told by Cornerstone that that was not Cornerstone's concern and that ensuing plumbing issues would be the home owners' responsibility. Eventually, however, they did send an alleged "plumber" who made the situation worse by flooding the house entirely as he turned on all faucets and flushed all toilets until sewage was spilling all over soiling flooring and carpets. He had the audacity to charge $200 (!!) before quickly disappearing. My parents-in-law then hired their own 3rd party plumber who ran a camera through their pipes to diagnose the problem. This plumber discovered that the pipe leading to the cleanout near their front porch was filled with concrete!! This plumber subsequently repaired all issues causing the backing up of sewage into the house. The total ordeal came to almost $20,000!!! I am very disappointed in Cornerstone and utterly ashamed to have recommended them! It will be greatly appreciated for Cornerstone to admit their fault and to reimburse us for our horrendous expenses. Thank you!Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/07) */ Client feels that Cornerstone is responsible for their plumbing issues. We verbally explained the potential risk to their plumbing before starting our work. The client also signed an agreement explaining that we're not responsible for their plumbing.
