    Complaint Type:
    Service or Repair Issues
    Status:
    Answered
Submitted the year-end report to the builder. While most of the items were resolved a few were signed off without consent and the builder refuses to fix them. I specifically am looking for the builder warranty to address the following items: 1. Leaking water from the sprinkler system. Before the flower bed wall was installed the builder received a report highlighting (item#**) that this issue needed to be fixed. Additionally, this was previously fixed by the builder and continues to be an issue. Their warranty team at First H3331383938313****831H denied it after they saw a flower bed wall being installed and marked it as a Non-warrantable item (***). The wall did not exist at the time of the report being issued (as noted in the many pictures presented by the inspector). 2. 1st floor guest room shower head is not sealed and is lose and was not repaired (item#**). Builder states they fixed this issue and closed their ticket. Sent the builder pictures of the issue again.3. The main door to the home has a major crack forming from bottom to top (item#**). The builder stained the door on the outside and assumed it was resolved. This door will continue to crack and should be replaced, the builder should've stained the door correctly to begin with and need to replace this door.

My experience with First Texas Homes has been a whirlwind of negativity, a cautionary tale for future homebuyers. When I reached out to inquire about the closing date, *************** response was shockingly hostile:XXXXX,Okay, I am going to be as nice to you as possible.YOU sir....need to figure this out, First Texas Homes makes the rules NOT you and you and your brother need to get this out of your head.I am not sure who put all this in your head, but First Texas Homes is in charge, not YOU or your brother, or your father.Let me know what works best and get back to me asap.Thank you sir.***'s email encapsulates the disdainful attitude towards customers. After closing, the house revealed numerous defects that should have been addressed beforehand:Over 80 tiles on the first floor need replacement Raised tiles in all bathrooms require immediate attention Entire first floor needs regrouting Countless drywall seams and cracks demand repair Kitchen cabinets are in dire need of sanding and repainting A missing window sill and improperly installed window are glaring issues Upper-level flooring needs proper nailing Widespread paint issues mar the walls throughout the house A noticeable dent mars the cabinet under the kitchen island These issues highlight First Texas Homes' disregard for quality and accountability. But it's not just the craftsmanship that's lacking. Luke ************ explosive outburst during a home visit left me stunned. His unprofessional conduct in my own home was unacceptable. And then there's the Director of Operations ********************. Her leadershipor lack thereofhas created a toxic environment within the company. Her incompetence and unwillingness to address customer concerns underscore the systemic issues at First Texas Homes.Future homebuyers, take heed! My ordeal, coupled with ongoing lawsuits, should serve as a warning. Legal action will be pursued if resolution is not forthcoming.

Our customer had some warranty issues in his home we have taken care of each one as he sent them in sometimes 30 times a day. We had to protect our employees from his abusive behavior by making sure we dealt with someone to finish the warrantable items other than him. Our employees/contractors would not go into his house fear of being abused/threatened. We had given him so many warnings and he just got worse with verbal abuse. I threatened to shut everything down if he did not stop with the verbal demeaning abuse several times. He sent us a total of 30 emails a day repeating a request every time he requested a warranty request. We tried to ask him to go through attorneys so we could keep some reasonable work around but he promised he would stop and we would go forward. All work should be either nearly finished or completed.
