I have been given the run around regarding my prescription. Ive had a very serious surgery on my back. The nurses were rude & un professional not knowledgeable about patient **************** at allextremely rough. In fact I preferred my healing & therapy to be at home so I left before my release date of August 5, 2024. My current problem is they continue to lie like the *** is in Surgery 24hours a day 7days a week so therefore he has absolutely nobody thats able to send over my prescription for pain medication. The nurse that I spoke to at least 3 times this week said they would send it over however did not. Not only did she not but she failed to inform me that their offices are closed on Fridays. This means that maybe and when I say maybe I mean a very slim chance that after I have suffered all weekend. According to them the surgeon will still be in surgery and I will have to suffer more (since my physical therapy starts this week). With absolutely no medication or empathy shown. What I would like is accountability, actions taken to rectify my situation before I end up back at the mercy of that hospital. Respectfully yours, ***********************Initial Complaint

I was a patient of ********** at ****************When calling the office to schedule my appointment, I explained to the receptionist that my health insurance wasn't very good because I have an extremely high deductible so because of that, I would likely have to pay for my medical costs out of pocket. I told her I was coming in with concerns that I had a yeast infection and asked her to confirm how much I would be charged for everything. The receptionist on the phone checked with billing and assured me it was going to be "under $200 for everything" and that she would let me know if anything changes that would alter that amount. With the understanding that I shouldn't expect to pay more than $200 total, I decided to proceed. When I saw a bill for lab work come through I thought it was a mistake - but I was able to get in touch with the lab who said this was correct. No one explained to me that I was going to have 11 different labs done that cost $150 each - $1,650.00 total!!! I never would have consented to this!!!! My out of pocket responsibility from my insurance is $708.95!! All this was for a potential yeast infection - I can't believe how many tests were done and how expensive they were. And this was in addition to the office visit charge I paid of $167.62. So all in all, I am paying $676.57 more than I was told to expect before I booked the appointment. I understand the lab charges came from the lab and not Northlake OBGYNs office, but again, no one explained to me in advance and I never would have come and had an appointment had I known this is what I would have been charged. For that reason, I feel extremely upset and tricked by your office.Initial Complaint

I had unimaginable pain in my jaw and went to emergency room at Dallas Medical City. After a brief talk with a Dr. they asked me to sit in a hallway for labs and test. Within minutes I was paying co-pay by rep for hospital. After this a Dr comes back without labs or a test and says I think you have cellulitis. I am then told to go discharge. I was in so much pain the tears were flowing. The discharge person asked why you crying and I said I am in severe pain and no one is helping me. I was given a stupid pain pill and a antibiotic prescription. I sat up the remainder of the night crying. I wanted to go back to the hospital, but they sent me home after a 45 min visit the first time. I waited for my *********** to open. I took so many pain meds that I had on hand, but it didnt help. I thought I was going to OD them. I took so much I got nauseated and took ******. This didn't stop the pain, but it did help me to sleep for 2 hours. I went to my DR and was told I need a mouth x-ray like you would get at the dentist office. I immediately call the ************** and was told to come right away. They took x-rays and did sensitivity test on my teeth. While waiting for the x-********* took the Dr I needed to walk so my brain will not think about how much pain I am in. All they while still crying. The Dr asked if it was ok to numb my mouth with sedatives. Which I gladly received. They told me I do not have cellulitis and the prescription I received will not work. They provided me with the correct prescription and sent me to a Specialist for a root canal. As I have a pacemaker and defibrillator I needed to be on this medicine for several days before I could have the procedure. This was sheer agony for days. The Specialist took another x-ray and after starting the procedure determined that I had a broken tooth with nerves exposed. That every time I just closed my mouth this would expand the break and expose the nerves. This expanded the severe pain. Received a root canal and crown.Initial Complaint

I should start by saying that Medical City has been our hospital of choice for over 20 years. This stay was a total nightmare. The problems began in the ER. When I got there, the ER was filled to capacity and overflowing. I was put in a waiting area with about a dozen other individuals. They called me to start an IV, and I told them I needed my port accessed. I had to wait a long time for a room to come available to get my port accessed. I should start by saying that I am well versed in central line and port care as I had two children that had lines for over 5 years that I cared for. The nurse that accessed my port did not follow proper protocol at all. First, she did not put her sterile gloves on properly. Next, she scrubbed the port area for all of about 5 seconds. I spoke up and said that she needed to scrub longer. She did that but totally broke sterile protocol because she was not cleaning from the inside out. She was cleaning haphazardly and defeating the purpose of sterilizing the area to be accessed. They then sent me to a general waiting hall that was lined with people. They were about to hook me up to fluids. The nurse went to get something, and the IV line fell to the floor and the nurse came back and started to proceed to try and hook me up. I told her that she was not going to hook me up to a line that had fallen to the floor. She tried to show me how it was okay, and I laughed and said NO! She was ticked because she had to start my stuff all over. I was then put back into this general waiting area with about a dozen people. Some were coughing, others throwing up, one man was writhing in pain going from his chair to the floor. So, when I finally got to the floor, I really liked the Neurologist. I did not have an issue with him. Every, and I mean every nurse did not follow proper protocol when scrubbing the hub before hooking anything up to the line attached to my port. Protocol when both of my children had central lines and ports was to scrub...Initial Complaint

Please refer to the attachment titled "Medical City Dallas Appeals (NPAS + BBB)" for details. I am honestly too exhausted to re-explain my situation right now because I've once again been dealing with it all day (just submitted yet another appeal to my 2nd debt collector for this bill...). I'm not sure what aspects you all could potentially help me with. I also had issues related to an accidental injury insurance claim that was denied in all this mess that I recently contacted EBSA about.
