My family and I have been dealing with Baron and **** for years trying to get the payment for a mesothelioma claim. Six years ago, we all filled out the required paperwork and had it notarized. Never heard anything. We contacted them again this year (yes, we dropped the ball but so did they). We were sent paperwork and all filled it out within the week and returned it. We have called multiple times and no one will speak to us or return calls. It is always an answering machine, every day no matter the time. No phone calls are ever returned and we have received nothing in the mail.Business Response

I was taken on as client for medical case 12 years ago. I was told i would be taken on as an individual case was put in a group settlement. Got the agreed settlement papers amount 5 years ago. Still not received my settlement money. They gave me the run around for two years the same story no updates on case then the next year was all stellment will be paid out with in the next year. That was 3 years ago. They gave me someone direct to contact for the past year. They kept saying it was still in something called epic. They still can't tell me the actual amount I will receive out of the amount of the settlement that was awarded to me. Then my direct contact didn't answer my calls anymore and now the number disconnected when I called the office I can't get throw must of the time and then when I do get through they send me to someone else voice mail and get no calls back. So not only did I pay 40% of my settlement in lawyer fees when they made the despite against my medicail insurance company they settled with them for doctor *********** and a whole other surgery non related to the claim so I am thousands of dollars to unrelated medical expensesBusiness Response

Been working with ****** and **** since 2019. Had to redo paperwork many times, case has had zero attention. They could not locate my mom's medical records though she was only in 3 places and we gave them to them. No response from them and now we get our settlement paperwork and their is a lein from Optum that Optum knows nothing about, nor do we. Now they suddenly won't respond to us. Yet there is 38k missing from the settlement. This place is just horrible. Where is the 38k ****** and ****? How many other customers did you tell had lien but really did not? This is fraud!!! I want contact with case numbers and an explanation of where over 38k went without any notification or communication from ****** and ****. Again, Optum has no lien, so again....fraud! We aren't signing anything until you tell us what happened to the money..every *****!Business Response

I have been involved in a class action lawsuit going on 10 years now and finally signed the settlement paperwork two weeks ago but since then I havent heard anything and when I call and leave a message I get no return call or my money. I cant even get a copy of what I signed. My issue started in 2006 and has grown exponentially. Im now homeless and unable to work so I feel like ****** and **** are taking advantage of my situation only compounding the problems even more.Business Response

We have signed our settlement paper work months ago and our case was opened in 2019 against roundup which killed our mother. We were told at the end of 2023 that our funds would be sent shortly after. We have had to sign several more documents and now we are being told it is being held for the lein release company and they have to wait on them so the funds can be released. I continue to call *********************** who is a legal assistant and has been so friendly and has always trys to find something out but always ends up with saying there is no check yet but please keep trying to call every couple of weeks to see if there are any updates. Every time we talk to them there has been some sort of problem or just told that it is out of there hands and we have to wait just a little bit longer. It is extremely frustrating knowing we settled in December 2022 and are still waiting for the funds to be distributed. Also we always have to contact them for updates. They have never called us with the updates. It makes us wonder who is getting all of the interest on the money that is just sitting in limboCustomer Answer

I have been dealing with ***************************** since late 2017 when I was diagnosed with *** Lymphoma. I was told it would take about 5 years in total. Finally in August of 2022, I received the settlement offer. In the offer, it stated that the settlement could take as long as 6 months from then for the payment. I signed the settlement papers and returned them immediately. From what I understand, ***** has long paid the Mon lump sum to ***************************** for their clients. Finally in February, I began calling Baron@**** for updates. Someone would return my call but only to tell me its taking longer than expected and that theyre back logged from the Pandemic. The next time I called, they now told me it could take another year. I dont understand why its taking so long when the Settlement papers were signed and returned 8 months ago, Im starting to feel like they are never going to release the funds I am entitled to. They tell me to call back every couple of weeks because they may have more information and each time I call, they say nothing has changed or the case has not been updated. Nobody knows seems to know anything. When I check their portal, it says my case is in the work up stage. How can that be when. I already signed the settlement papers??? I've been dealing with Baron & Budd for my essure case for over 8 years now. Last year I received my settlement statement and was told I would be receiving a check in the mail within the next few weeks. After calling a few months later I was told it'll now be at the end of the summer. Summer came and gone still nothing. I proceeded to call again (and mind you, you never get to directly get to speak to anyone for at least a few days) I was now told it'll be here by the end of the year. New year came and gone and still nothing. I'm still calling monthly like they told me to, to check the status of my settlement (again still waiting days for a return call back). Now we're in June a whole year later with still nothing. I'm very disappointed in the lack of communication with this company. If I never called them would I have been updated? The settlement money was already paid to the attorneys so I'm not sure why it's taking so long. At this point I feel as thou I have been scammed by Baron & Bud and I hate to say that as in the beginning of everything they were great. It really felt as thou they truly cared, it felt nice to have a company have my back after everything my body went thru and is still going thru.Business Response
