5 starsThis was our first time to use Wrightway Moving. It was a great experience. The crew showed up on time. They were very professional and quickly, but carefully loaded our furniture and boxes. At our new home they were just as efficient and careful about moving our items in. We will definitely use Wrightway Moving in the future.Review fromEmily M

My experience with Wrightway Moving Company was an absolute nightmare from start to finish.Initially, the owner verbally took inventory over the phone, room by room, instead of requesting a detailed list. He assured me a 3-man team with one large truck would suffice, estimating costs around mid-$800. Instead, I ended up spending nearly $1800 and was pressured to sign another contract just to correct their mistakes. The move took over 12 hours for a partially furnished home. Many items were misplaced despite clear labeling. Some things meant for storage ended up at my house, and vice versa. When we visited the storage unit, we found boxes completely destroyed. Several marked "fragile" with arrows pointing up were upside down with liquids leaking out.Communication was a major issue. There seemed to be a language barrier with some movers, leading to confusion and inefficiency. The team even asked my minor son to sign paperwork, which is inappropriate and potentially illegal. The owner's behavior was shockingly unprofessional. He yelled at his mover in front of me and later threatened me over the phone at my workplace. When I refused to sign a new contract, he threatened to call the police, accusing me of theft of ************, the owner refuses to address these issues and won't return my calls or texts. I'm forced to hire additional movers to correct their mistakes, adding more cost and stress.Their website promises professionalism, efficiency, and courteous service, but my experience was the complete opposite. I've had to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and **** (where I found them).I strongly advise against using this company. The stress, property damage, unprofessionalism, hidden costs, and additional expenses to correct their mistakes make this experience a costly ****** I hope others can avoid.Wrightway Moving Company, LLC

Wrightway Moving Company response to ****** complaint Subject: Response to Customer Complaint Regarding ********************** Services Dear Customer Thank you for your correspondence regarding the recent move completed by Wrightway Moving on September 26th and completed on the 27th, 2024. We have reviewed the details of your complaint thoroughly, along with the records of your move and our movers' reports. In this response, we aim to address the key points youve raised, focusing on the specifics of the service and the associated costs.Scheduling your move and first initial estimate:The customer called in on September 24th to book her move for 9/26th two days later. Very short notice for a large home of her size. When I provide a sales estimate to my customers it is customary for me to ask the customer to fill out an inventory list or provide a detailed list of items of furniture, and number of boxes to be moved. Furthermore, I even mention that on my website we have detailed inventory link that she could fill out. She initially only filled out our short quote form which does not included any inventory links. I told her I could text or email her the link and this way I could better estimate her cost for moving services. I asked this customer her square footage of her residence she stated 3200sqft but said she was divorcing and less than half of the house would be moved. I was cautious because a fully furnished 3200sqft house could cost $3200 to $6000 to provide a full service pack and move. Also I would never send only one truck and 3 movers to move a 3200sqft house. We usually send two trucks and 6 movers for moves that take over 8 hours to complete. She gave me a verbal list of items to be move which I took notes to add to our movers instruction sheet. This customer never provided a written inventory or filled out my inventory quote form. See my notes / text below of customer list. I sent this information in her confirmation email prior to her service move date. Moving less than half of 3200sqft two story house with two drop offs. 1st drop off at storage not sure what floor 2nd drop off at 2 story house only couple items going upstairs at house. Moving cordenza from media room, couple pieces of fitness equipment from game room, washer, dryer, refrigerator, 1 bedroom has just full-size bed, 2nd bedroom queen bed, nightstand, dresser, complete master bedroom set, dresser, nightstands headboard, footboard, office desk (desk was already damage), chair, 2 book shelfs, sofa and less than 50 boxes (Approximately ***** articles and 50 boxes). I explained to the customer if the information you are telling me is accurate then our truck (24/26ft Box truck) hold approximately 3-5 rooms of furniture or ***** articles of furniture and up to 50 boxes. Our trucks can hold almost equivalent to a 1500sqft house. Normally this amount of items to be moved would take between 4-6 hours to complete with one load / one unload moving within a 10 miles radius from origination to destination addresses. We quoted this customer on hourly rate proposal NOT A FLAT RATE. For 3 movers / truck the regular credit card rate $135 hour with a two hour minimum. After two hours the labor rate is prorated every 15 minutes thereafter until the completion of the move. Plus in addition a $75 fuel trip charge for one trip (1 truck load / 1 unload). All the pricing information regarding hourly rate, fuel charge was clearly stated on the contract for moving services and emailed to this customer previously prior to her move date. In addition our confirmation email clearly states Based on our conversation, below are the details and estimates for your upcoming move. Please understand that this is an estimate, if the information provided during our conversation is not accurate on the day of your move, this estimate will be null and void and additional charges may apply. For the record this customer did not request packing services of her loose miscellaneous items. Serviced move date and inventory being move:Movers moved in addition to the listed inventory mentioned above more than 50 boxes (several boxes were used worn out) totes, large bins, large bags, ***** plants, tv stand already previous damage, coffee table, another tv stand, tv, 3 large mirrors, 2 cat stands, another coffee table, 2 chairs, dining table, 6 chairs, 2 small cabinets, buffet, jewelry cabinet, 6 more chairs in garage, 3 bicycles, Christmas tree, boxes of tools, ladder, patio table 3 chairs, another table, 5 chairs, speaker, tv trays and several other small miscellaneous pieces of furniture. Total number of items of articles was approximately ***** articles and excess of more than 50 boxes, plastic storage bins, totes and bags. Given the additional items to be moved, several of those items required additional wrapping for protection per customer instructions the move time extended beyond the original estimate. This is why our movers made two truck loads / unloads. We moved approximately 2200-2500sqft worth of household good items. Customer moved into a ******** house and the overflow of the additional items went into a storage facility. For the record customer did not have after hours access so our crew was unable to unload the second truck that evening. Time analysis and billing:The time required to complete the move was significantly impacted by these additional items. Below is a time breakdown for your move: Standard Time for One Truck Load and Unload: 4-6 hours (as stated in our response on the evening of the move). Your Move: Two truck loads, each taking approximately 4-6 hours, resulting in a total of ***** hours. Our crew spent over 14 hours working on your move, yet we only billed you for 10 hours, resulting in a discount of approximately $520 in labor costs. The charges for day one totaled $1,699.71, broken down as follows: Labor (10 hours at $135/hour): $1,350 Fuel (first trip): $75 Fuel (second trip): $20 Materials (paper pads and shrink wrap): $254.71 ($94.71 for paper pads, $160 for additional shrink wrap)Additionally, we waived the $250 overnight storage fee, which would normally be applied due to the delayed unloading at the storage facility caused by it being closed. This gesture alone further reduces your overall cost.3. Additional Materials and Costs:In the initial confirmation email, it was clearly outlined that additional charges would apply for any materials used beyond the standard provision. This includes: Shrink Wrap: We include one roll per truckload, but any extra wrap is charged at $40 per roll. Paper Pads: You requested additional protection for paintings, mirrors and fragile items, and as stated, paper pads are charged at $3.50 per pad.Given the increased volume of items and the need to protect them, these charges were applied to ensure the safe transport of your belongings.Miscommunication and Involvement of Your Son:Per your instructions after we were unable to unload at the storage you told our movers your husband or son would meet our crew in the morning at the storage. On the following morning when my movers called explain they were at the storage customer gave them verbal instructions to unload at your unit. When my crew was finished at the storage they went by customer house to settle up on paperwork and collect payment for the second day of service. My crew was under the impression that our customer gave consent to her son to sign off on our paperwork and to collect payment for completed services. For the record the customer gave my mover her work address. Once our mover arrived the customer was very defiant and provided at list of reason why she was not going to pay us for any additional services. Final Billing and Services Rendered:To clarify, the billing for day two was a separate charge because the labor exceeded the scope of the original move, primarily due to additional items and extended unloading time. As you were not present during the unloading at the storage unit, our movers placed items based on verbal instructions received and their judgment. This may have led to some confusion regarding the placement of items. Any items that were misplaced in the storage versus the house could have been prevented if the customer was present. Professionalism and Next Steps:While we regret that you were dissatisfied with parts of the service, all charges reflect the time, materials, and effort required to complete your move. As an hourly rate service, the final cost is directly tied to the time spent moving your items, the volume of the items moved, and the additional materials used. It is important to note that NO FLAT RATE was ever quoted, and the contract clearly states that pricing is based on hourly the time spent, which was prorated in your case to avoid overcharging. We are confident that the pricing and services rendered were fair based on the actual work performed. With the only exception you did not pay our crew additional labor the second day of service. We are more than oblige to come move the items from storage to house vise versa at no additional charge as long as you agree to pay for the additional two hours of labor plus fuel charge we were never got paid for on the second day. Wrightway Moving has provided excellent and professional customer services for over ****** moves in 27 years with never dropping below consumer performance grade of A, listed with the Better Business Bureau and **** List. Our online reviews speak for themselves and back up Wrightway Moving Company reputation. We strive to do our very best to please each and every customer that chooses our **********************. The Wrightway crew did a great job for me, taking their time and really being very patient & courteous with my many special requests. I have mostly solid wood, traditional furniture with somewhat delicate legs and several heirloom antiques. They were all packaged and delivered with care. I made the right choice when I selected Wrightway from among many choices available. The crew worked well together and were efficient in their process, but the best part was their interest in making this customer happy. Thank you, **********************!Wrightway Moving Company, LLC
