    ***** ****** from Gulf Coast Western called me to ask if I was interested in investing in oil *****, but my number is on the national do not call list, which they dont respect.

    If Mr. ****** was contacted by Gulf Coast Western at a telephone number properly registered on the National Do Not Call Registry, we can assure you that such contact was inadvertent.

    Gulf Coast Western maintains, as part of its routine business practices, protocols designed to comply with the federal Telemarketing Sales Rule and the safe harbor for inadvertent mistakes set forth thereunder in 16 CFR 310.4(b)(3).Gulf Coast Western has also established and implemented written procedures and trained its employees to prevent calls made to numbers listed on the National Do Not Call Registry. Gulf Coast Western contracts with an independent third-party provider who screens each telephone number against the National Do Not Call Registry before Gulf Coast Western places a marketing call to such telephone number. Gulf Coast Western is investigating why the consumers telephone number may not have been properly screened by **** third-party *********** the meantime, Gulf Coast Western has entered the consumer's telephone number into its internal do-not-call system to ensure that no additional calls are made to the consumer at the telephone number provided. Gulf Coast Western and its personnel are committed to acting, at all times, professionally,respectfully and in compliance with all applicable laws.

    I am rejecting this response because:   My telephone number has been registered with the Do Not Call List since May 15th, 2009.  There is absolutely no way this number was scrubbed with the *** Do Not Call list.  Saying a third party did the work does not exempt Gulf Coast Western from responsibility.

    The company has called my place of employment on several occasions to try and have me invest in their oil *****. I recently transferred to a different location within the same business and they called within 2 weeks. I have never done business with them or even looked into it. Cold calling is one thing, but harassing me at work is another.

    We have received your communication via the BBB website regarding the calls you have received from our business. From your complaint it appears that you transferred to a new location at your job with a new business telephone number, and we called your new business telephone number after you had requested that we not call your old business telephone number.

    Although business telephone numbers are not protected by the Do-Not-Call Registry, our representatives are instructed to immediately enter someones contact information into our internal do-not-call list if such a request is made, as we certainly do not want anyone to ever feel as if they are being harassed in any way. What I believe happened is that both your old business telephone number and your new business telephone number appeared in our database. Although we removed your old business telephone number, the call to your new business number inadvertently reached you again.

    Please rest assured we have removed both your old and new business telephone numbers from our database completely, and you should never be called again by us at either number since those numbers are now both blocked completely in our system. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
