On January 17th, my wife parked in downtown Dallas. She pulled into the lot and scanned the ** code and followed the payment instructions. Turns out, Parking Systems of America had a ** code for some streaming service on their sign. She realized this after a while and went back to the lot on **********, logged into Park Mobile and paid. Turns out that the fee changed at 6 pm. She had pulled in a little before 6 and was on PM a little after 6. We received an $86 dollar bill from the company. This problem is caused solely by the business's lack of sign maintenance. I could see billing us for the difference between what their billing was on the website and the correct fee, but anything else seems unfair. I should probably get reimbursed for having to unravel some streaming service scam (had to cancel the credit card), but I get that it's a challenge to maintain a remote lot.Business Response

In response to my complaint, Parking Systems of America said "Please send the ticket to ************************************************************. I will insure that it is void immediately."
I followed their instructions and never heard back from them until today. I just received a letter from a ****** B. ******, a Colorado attorney, informing me that the disputed amount is in collection. I'm not sure if this parking company is poorly managed or unethical, but I think we need to reopen this matter. Thanks!!!

The matter is currently resting with the business's collection counsel in ********. They've started an "investigation" to determine the validity of the debt. Please keep this matter open until I've heard back from their counsel as that has yet to happen. I'm hoping it's soon so I can put this matter behind me. I'll reach out as soon as I hear. Thanks so much.Customer Answer

On 9/6/24 I paid and parked in a lot for four hours. A few days later I get a ticket in the mail for $87 for failure to pay. I have emailed the business my parking confirmation that shows when I parked and proof of payment. The company is saying I paid and parked in the wrong lot. The lot I was in in connected to another lot surround by signs with payment ** codes to pay for parking. They dont signify which ** belongs to which lot and because the lots are physically connected I scanned the ** that way by the sidewalk I walked to. The company acknowledges that I paid but it was not for the correct lot. The addresses are off by 1 number which shows that they are right by each other. Because there is no signs that signify which code to scan and they dont ask for a lot number or space number there is no way to know that in this area you have to use a specific qr. The company is still asking for payment even though they have collected payment from that very night.Business Response

My wife pulled into a lot, that was completely empty, to breastfeed and change my 11 week old daughters diaper. She never left the vehicle, turned it off, etc. She did not park, she was standing. We received a letter threating collections if we don't pay a $87 fine by 30 days of the date of notice, in which we got 7 days after the date, leaving us 23 days. We don't feel this is right to charge a fixed income family this amount of money to breastfeed their kid in an empty parking lot. Please go back and review the tapes to see the car was never parked and she never left the vehicle. PCADAL-******. I have called to try and speak with you over the phone but all 11 numbers on your website do not lead to a person and your corporate and Dallas numbers do not work. I also called the attorney for PRRS, ************************* to try and speak with him as well. I am waiting for a call back to discuss the matter. We are fine paying a $10 fee or something for the 50 min she used the lot to breastfeed, but we cant afford $87 on a fixed income.Business Response

There are no video tapes to confirm the story. The cameras in place take pictures of the license plates on the way in and on the way out. The license plate either paid for **********************, or did not. If it did not, a notice of violation is mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle.

I am rejecting this response because: How would you like for us to prove this? Do yall consider "standing" the same thing as parking? If so, we are happy to pay the equivalent of 51 minutes in that lot with no issues. If you do not, please tell us what we can do to prove this to you to remove this charge. Can you also provide a phone number for us to call, all 11 numbers on your website do not work. I can also come by your location at ********* as well if that works.Business Response

I'm not really sure how to respond here. It feels like the request to come by the office may be a threat and has been noted. To put this behind us, if the customer will email the ticket to ********************************** I will void the ticket.
Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I sent the email on Tuesday to the email your told me to but the ticket has not been removed. Because of the collections aspect of this and not knowing when this might get taken care of, I am "rejecting" your reply, but will gladly accept and delete this BBB ID once the ticket is removed. I am rejecting this response because: I have received a collections letter from an attorney's office who collects violations for SP ****************** Parking. This is the thrid time I have paid for parking and been told I did not pay. They have an an line payment set up to pay for violations but it doesn't allow disputes. On April 24th, I parked in Lot 48 (2905 Main St) in Dallas and scanned the ** code on the sign to pay for parking. I was only given the option of paying for 2 hours of parking so I paid the $5.78 for the 2 hours and expected a second charge of $5.78 would hit my credit card if I was still parked in the lot after the 2 hours expired, or that I would get a notification to pay to extend my time. I never got a notice that my time was up or an opportunity to extend the time, which I would gladly have paid for if given a chance.Last Friday I received a violation letter stating I owed $87 for "ticket expired while parking". The violation "date issued" was April 24th at 4:36 pm, while the actual charge for the initial 2 hours of parking didn't hit my credit card until April 25th. The violation charges are excessive and unjustifiable. It appears the company is more interested in collecting predatory violation fees than simply collecting legitimate parking fees. I will not be patronizing any of the area businesses in the future. I have proof I paid the initial amount from my credit card but never received a receipt of any other kind. I am happy to pay another $5.78 for the additional hour and 16 minutes I was in the lot, but am not willing to pay what amounts to 15 times the original fee.Business Response
Date: 06/09/2024
The notice from PRRS has been void. Looks like this is an honest mistake. Please note, the customer will receive notification that their time is expiring either 1) as an sms / text or 2) through an email if an email was provided.

I am rejecting this response because after giving it a week for the business to respond, I paid the $87 violation fee plus a $5 convenience fee for paying online for a total of $92. I would appreciate a refund.Customer Answer
Date: 07/29/2024
I have received no communication from the business and they have NOT refunded the $92 violation fee I paid on 5/13/2024 (payment receipt attached to previous complaint).Business Response

While I have had no other complaints about notifications of expiring time, if the customer will email ********************************** with a copy of the **** notice, I will take care of the ticket.
Customer Answer
Date: 10/01/2024
I am rejecting this response because I have already paid the parking ticket. My hope is that going forward, Parking ************************* will discontinue price gouging those who exceed their parking time and allow parkers to pay a reasonable fine that should not exceed double the original fee owed for the additional time. As a reminder, in my instance, that would have been just under $12 (as the actual parking charge was $5.78 for two hours). The parking fine I paid was $87 + a $5 convenience fee for a total of $92. This amount is excessive and unjustifiable.Business Response

On Jan. 30 I parked on their parking lot and paid for the parking and now im getting a ticket. I have a screenshot of a message that was sent to me from them that my parking was going to expire in 15 minutes at 12:53, and in the letter i got it says i left at 12:56 so that means that i still had time left can you fix this for me i have the screenshots of the messages with the time on it i always wait for the message and now they are trying to charge me 87 dollars when i already paid to park there and left under 15 minutes when i got the message even if i was late by a couple minutes that does not constitute a fine of 87 dollars and i have been trying to appeal but they only tried to lower it by 20 dollars and they do not respond anymore and they are saying they will pass the debt on to a debt collector who will tow my car all this due to the fact that they were the ones that were negligent i have the screenshots and the parking ticket Notice# PCADAL-******Business Response

Two incidents with this company, one dated 2/14/23 and one dated 2/14/24. This company uses deceptive business practices in order to extort money from individuals that use their parking services. Both incidents I had paid for parking, and both times I was issued a citation despite having paid for parking.- The first incident I had paid for "Daily Parking" and were unclear as to what that meant. They had a card on file for the vehicle, but decided to cite me instead. They provided a "discount" to the ticket, but ended up charging me the fully $80 dollars anyways.- The second incident I had paid for parking until midnight. The ticket start time displayed 6:01PM, despite the fact that the email shows I paid for the ticket at 5:03PM. Again, they had a card on file if there were any issues. This is a clearer display of the shady business tactics this company employs.Business Response

Jan. 12, **** at parking lot located at *********************************************************** a parking tenant $15 for parking with my debit card. Then on 01/28/24 I received a bill from Parking **************** Services for $80 stating I did not pay. I disputed it with a copy of my transaction from my bank statement. They waived is as a one time courtesy stating I should have provided the original receipt as proof, but that was thrown away the evening of the 12th after leaving the lot. My husband ****** at the same lot on 01/04/24, paid with his card at the kiosk and also received a bill on 01/28/24 for $80. He disputed as well and received a one time courtesy waiver. I have tried calling the company directly but it automatically routes me to the collection agency Parking **************** Services, which I have already dealt with.Business Response

Never received noticed my time had expired. I was told on Sunday its a flat fee which I paid and have receipt for. My other friends parked in same lot and didnt get this notification they sent me email saying they will give me a discount for $67? Why am I paying a monthly rate for almost 3 hours?
