2010, the BBB contacted the Lewisville office of the company to request that it
substantiate the following advertised claims:
(1)
"Experience the purest water possible - for the lowest price
imaginable."
(2)
"FREE SmartPure Ozone System. A $1,200 VALUE*...*Call for details. With new
pool."
(3)
"World's Largest!"
According tothe BBB Code of Advertising, because objective claims can be measured against
accepted standards or tests, and can be proved or disproved, the advertiser
should possess substantiation.
Also, in a
negotiated sale, no "free" offer of another product or service should
be made where the product to be purchased usually is sold at a price arrived at
through bargaining, or where other material factors such as quantity, quality
or size are arrived at through bargaining.
The company
indicated that it would be willing to modify or discontinue the "lowest
price," "purest water," and the "free" claims, to
adhere to the BBB Code of Advertising.
However, as of March 27, 2023, the business has failed to substantiate or modify the "World's Largest" claim to adhere to BBB advertising standards.
