Front start to finish we knew we had a great team to facilitate our dreams of having a pool in our backyard. Always there to answer any questions, and educated you along the process. Thank you SO much Summerhill pools for such a great experience! We truly appreciate your attention to detail and friendly approach during our process.

There was an issue with my pool equipment. I called the front desk and received a possible diagnosis with the offer for someone to come out to my pool and see the issue first hand. Both people I communicated with were informed on the topic and polite. The next day the equipment was fixed/replaced.

Terrible ******************** to honor warranty written into contract. After an insane 11-month long pool/patio install, man issues to be fixed never were addressed at all. A pool tile falls out every few weeks and the tile job is extremely messy in several areas, steps in and around the pool and patio are all noticeably different heights, A third step added to solve a prior issue of steps being 6" or less deep and 14"+ tall (forcing you to turn sideways) takes up part of the pool area and is invisible when the filter is running--causing injuries from every visitor. The deck concrete has multiple areas with long black streaks and full leaves caught in the concrete, and the side of the pool is already cracking & separating from the steps. "That's just how concrete is" per Summerhill. But that's not how every other patio I've ever seen is. There was paint left on the Astro-turf after painting, there are chips in the surrounding tiles never fixed. My pool equipment would shut down or misread temp for the first 3 months and had to be manually controlled or rebooted constantly during that time. The immature company owner, ****, was so offended by my "second-rate" terminology in referring to the pool ************** request not to pay one service charge I wasn't informed of, he said we should part ways and Summerhill would not honor my warranty anymore! So my well over 6-figure investment got me a $0 warranty! Also, many other companies won't guarantee their work on another company's install-especially when they see all these mistakes. Poor design, poor execution, outright lies & they completely bail instead of standing by their work. Most expensive quote, worst service (non responses or lies were the norm). A friend using a rival pool company that started 2 weeks before me had a perfect experience with clean, smooth concrete, no tile, equipment, stair, paint, design, etc., issues and finished 4 months prior to me. Beautiful results. That was ********** ***** in ******.

This project was in the height of COVID, and at that time the swimming pool industry was seeing the largest and quickest growth in history. We were buried in work, and there was simply not enough workforce to get all stages done in a timely manner. The Home Owner was made aware of all the upcoming delays prior to signing the contract or beginning construction. The city of Dallas had a back log for permitting, excavators were running 3-4 months out and we were waiting 4-6 weeks for concrete. We explained and communicated this to the Home Owner throughout the process. The contract was signed February 11, 2021, and we started the construction on June 15, 2021. After the initial excavation, per the plans and contract, the Home Owner decided the pool was too close to the house and wanted to move it out more into the yard. After redesigning and pricing, we re-excavated the pool on July 23, 2021. We received our final inspection on December 9, 2021. Unfortunately, the plaster she chose was on backorder and we could not plaster the pool until January 10, 2022. After completion, we continued to try and appease the Home Owner and make her happy. Home Owner is accurate with her complaint of leaves in the concrete, it was a really windy day and you can see the outlines of a few leaves in her broom finish concrete. We gave her a $6,220.00 credit for some upgrades she had previously approved. When that was not enough, and we knew that we were not going to make her happy, we offered her a settlement agreement and mutual release on February 10, 2021. That settlement agreement and mutual release would release the Home Owner from her $18,226.20 balance in exchange for no disparagement, and release Summerhill from any warranty items in the future. She could not agree to those terms, and wanted us to continue working on her punch list items. We simply could not go on with trying to appease her, so we chose to stop all work. Home Owner had (3) warranty service calls in the Spring of 2022 for a bad temperature sensor on her Jandy heater; which we covered at no cost to her. She also lost connection on her Jandy controller in May 2022; which we went to troubleshoot for her and found that her WIFI was not getting a good connection and she would need some type of WIFI booster. She has continued to reach out a few times and we have simply decided that we are all done. Her new complaint is that the tiles are falling off or breaking, Home Owner purchased her tile online; so, we have no knowledge of any warranty with it. We have offered many times for the Home Owner to pay her balance and we would continue to work on her warranty items.

Summerhill will just change or make up any story to fit their needs instead of admitting to real truths or trying to determine the facts. So say we forget about the time from signing the contract at the end of January/start of February 2021 to the time the pool could be filled in January 2022. Say they didn't tell me a 12-week estimated completion. I would have been thrilled if the job had been done well and things looked and worked right. My main complaints are about the job!
Here are some things just off the top of my head. And every visitor to my pool agrees with me or calls out issues or stubs toes or slips on coping on steps....etc. etc. etc.
Also a lie that they offered to honor the warranty if I paid the final payment. I called **** (owner) and asked for a final amount owedsince some things were still outstanding to be fixed, moved or answered and he never responded. I emailed the same (I can produce the sent email) and never received a response. SO SUMMERHILL DOES NOT HONOR IT'S WARRANTIES AND I AM LEFT TO BEG FOR ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS FROM ANOTHER POOL COMPANY THAT DOESN'T WANT TO GUARANTEE WORK ON SUMMERHILL'S POOL.
      1. Pool was never marked in the 6+ months between contract signing and initial dig. I've never heard of a pool not being marked by paint, flags, heck, even a hose would do. This would have avoided almost $10,000 I had to pay for a portion of the re-digging costs.
      2. No dirt was kept from that dig as promised to help fill in low points in the yard, especially caused after rain washed away most of my yard during the 6 month installation. (not including the electric co. delay)
      3. Steps from porch to back door varied by 2-3"
      4. Steps from deck to porch varied by 2-4"
      5. Step into pool was 16" deepfar too deep compared to others; had to request another step be added and this eliminated an umbrella stand.
      6. Steps from pool ledge to pool were 6" deep and 12-14" tall (again differing heights) so that you would have to turn sideways to walk into pool
      7. Adding a 3rd step to help mitigate #4 created an invisible step when the filter pump is on; dangerous and painful
      8. My POOL tiles that have an almost 5 star review are guaranteed against cracking, discoloration, etc. They are falling out of whatever messy gray compound Summerhill used to install them. This has nothing to do with the quality, especially since these were higher quality than any I looked at. I informed you that I know someone else who used these years ago, so I'd be happy to show you their pool or any of the online reviews from the many other purchasers.
      9. I have an extensive amount of concrete decking and do not have chairs covering every square inch. There are leaves, leaf imprints, drag marks that are black, scuffs, etc. in the concrete that make it look dirty from the day of installation.
      10. Concrete steps on my patio have just had chunks on the end fall off.
      11. There are chips throughout the coping around the pool and the coping is EXTREMELY slippery when wet. Asked if coping near water was meant to be so slippery when wet or if perhaps some sealing was not done and never received a response.
      12. There are also blotches throughout the coping as if it was not sealed.
      13. Part of my pool is above ground due to a slope in my yard, and the side of the pool had a crack in it that I sent to Summerhill soon after the installation. Email/phone calls were not returned.
      14. Because Summerhill tore up my yard for > 6 months, each time it rained more and more dirt washed out of my yard leaving an even greater slope.
      15. The fence was reinstalled at the lower slope and so it no longer matched up to the rest of the fence
      16. The deck steps led to about 2' in front of the fence on the side of my yard. We had to remove one step and cut out some of the deck so that you don't walk straight into a fence
      17. The same deck steps were built directly in front of a gate/touching the gate. So that you open the gate and hit a step (poor design. Could have moved pool over 2', especially since the pool goes past the existing patio on this side)
      18. Per #15, pool is not even with patio. Right side where there are only a few feet between the pool and fence goes further over/closer to fence leaving an even smaller space than before. The left side of the pool goes to another whole half of the yard with probably 30' to spare, so again, a small correction would have been better to not make the pool even closer to the fence on the narrower side.
      19. The pool control box was installed on the fence without any request or input from me. I immediately told them I would need that moved as I would be extending the fence. I was told about 4 times that it would be done immediately. This was never done.
      20. There was freezing cold water shooting from the middle of the spa for the first 4 uses. Summerhill just kept saying the line was clearing of standing water, but they finally fixed it by inserting something since this was obviously untrue.
      21. There is paint o

      21. There is paint from the risers on the astroturf
      22. The pool equipment temperature reader was off and it took 3 visits to fix so every time I had people over to use the spa it read 99 but was really 92 (uncomfortable).
      23. For the first several months, the app read that the pool equipment (heater, etc.) was turned on, but when checking the actual heater it was not. So false app readings. I finally fixed those with constantly rebooting and troubleshooting tips.
      24. Patio Cover sits over 2' on top of the roof so rain, wind, snow blow in all around the opening.
      25. Stairs were extended to laundry door with no attempt to blend or paint so now concrete is half smooth dark gray (old) and half messy, leaf imprinted light gray (new). Chunks where these were attached also fell out several times and the repair job is very messy.
Absolutely not true that I was told about significant delays prior to signing. It was mentioned that there could be short periods of maybe days to a max of weeks between jobs instead of them being completed back to back but this was after I signed. And nothing like the 4-6 weeks I would have to wait in between. What is Summerhill's explanation of why I was given an estimated 12-week completion time at the time of signing the contract.
Plus, I actually never complained much about it starting well past the March 15 estimated start date and 12-week completion time I was given at the time the contract was signed. I just asked to be kept apprised.
