Twisted Root Burger *** has a corporate policy to short the customer if they can not make exact change. Enforced by Manager.Sunday March 7, 2023 approx 11am at the Twisted Root Burger, ********* **.Purchased a burger for ***** with $100 bill. Change due was *****. Change given was *****. When I objected the cashier said they always round down and wont round up. On principle, asked for manager. He informed me, "sorry, it is a corporate policy". I again objected. A frustrated customer behind me put coins on the counter to resolve this. I stepped aside but asked for a corporate contact because my issue is the policy to deliberately short a customer, not the 3 cents. 10 minutes later, he writes, "Local Favorite ************". When I called from home, I discovered this number was a dead end with recorded messages relating to "El Fenix" being out of business. If your company thinks this is not a big deal, then they should take the hit. But instead you take advantage of customers who don't want to be embarrassed by making an objection. Also, the ****** tried to trick me out of $10. They did not have $10 or $20 bills, so she uses all $5 and counts ******, 65, 70, 85 .... I catch it and she does it again with 30, 35, 40, 55, .. She did this many times at different numbers and never got it correct before I called for someone else to do it. That second person was the one that said the policy is to round down the change. Maybe the first person was dyslectic or nervous and I could accept that $10 mistake, but the policy to deliberately short a costumer, even at 1 cent, is totally offensive and abuse. A violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Chapter 17 of the ***** Business and Commerce Code
