Untied *********** has towed my vehicle a total of 3 times in the 3 years that I live here. My vehicle was registered with a temporary tag and was towed after I put on my permanent license plate (the car was still registered under the temporary). There are currently at least 3 other vehicles in the parking lot without license plates at all, no registration and orange tags but they choose to tow the nicest looking cars in the ****** they know youll pay to get it back. Even though this is a simple mistake, this company berated me over the phone. The representative yelled at me and told me they didnt care and they wouldnt do anything. She suggested speaking with a manager who she also claimed wouldnt do anything. There is no conflict resolution process with these people other than paying an exorbitant amount of money to get your vehicle back. They use intimidation tactics to scare you into paying when in reality theyre in the wrong.Initial Complaint

Malpractice from the United Tows towing company:I was towed from this company because they monitor our parking lot (************************), and claimed that my pass had expired. While this is a true statement, I was mislead by United Tows to believe that registering my vehicle was a process to be done with another company. The second day I moved into the apartment, I had called United Tows to register my vehicle. My phone call was taken by an older woman who had a terrible tone while addressing my request. She had said that she cannot help and that I would need to register with property management. She did not provide me any details on who property management was or a phone number to call who could help **** attempted to call the day after to once again register my vehicle. I believe I was met with the same woman. This time she explicitly stated that, "United Tows does not register your vehicle." So I asked neighbors what they had to do in order register their vehicle and no one knew either and that their landlord took care of them. Therefore, I just assumed the same thing. Then, on July 19, my car was towed over the previous night. When I called United Tows this time, I was told that I actually had to register with them in order to avoid being towed. This is contradicting of what I was told the first two times that I had called them. She mentioned to me that she, "do(es) not have to help you [me]..." I took this as a threat and simply followed her instruction to pay the company nearly $200.Reviewing the bill, I was charged for the following items: Light Duty Towing ($121), Storage Charges ($21.03/day for 2 days), Impoundment ($21.03). Here you can see that they charged me for 2 days when they had my car for less than 24 hours (1 day). I was up charged and forced to pay by their demands when I wanted to avoid all of this in the beginning. I was fed lies and intimidated to pay for something I tried to avoid from the beginning.Initial Complaint

My car was towed from the apartments that I live in. I called the *********** this morning, inquired about the cost, fees etc I was informed that it would cost $156.00 and some change, I told ******* that I would be there to pick up my vehicle. I arrived about 12:30 pm. Told the representative that I would like to pick up my car and she tells me a different amount of $187.56, I then asked why was I given a different amount over the phone when I called earlier? Rep said because cars picked up after 11am received price increase. I expressed to the representative that information should have been provided when I initially called to inquire about the cost to pickup my vehicle, this is poor customer service, and out right dis respectful to the customer! Correct fee information should be provided upon request! Bad business practicesInitial Complaint

In the early hours of 1/28/22, my car was towed from my apartment. Once I am aware of the situation, I immediately contact the towing company to secure a timely pick up. Prior to picking up my car, I get a notification from my toll account for this same car. I come to find out that my car was towed through the tollway and I was charged on my toll account. On the phone before picking up my car, during the visit to the tow yard to get the car and in phone calls afterwards, managers from United Tows told me I would be reimbursed for my toll charges because I was not supposed to be charged for toll use if a car is towed. After 2 emails and no response from United Tows, I call again on 1/17/23 to find out the status of my reimbursement. To my surprise after speaking with the manager, I am informed that their company is not responsible for toll charges, despite multiple phone calls with the same manager telling me that I will be reimbursed for toll fees. This is blatant lying and if they couldn't reimburse me, they should have outright told me at the beginning instead of wasting my time. Moreover, their staff is incredibly unprofessional and rude. No one knows what they're doing and there was always at least a 10 minute wait to hear from a manager to get answers to the most basic questions.Initial Complaint

I feel as if this towing company is targeting me. I moved into the current property where I am living about three months ago, and in that period of time, I've been towed five times. The reason for this is that I don't have a parking permit. However, as I have explained to the towing company, the *** has not been active for almost 2 years at those properties and I haven't been able to get a parking permit from them. But the manager refused to help me despite them being the ones who distribute the permits to residents; All she told me was that they were a towing company and that they could not help me if the requests for permits weren't coming from the ***. I was polite, I was professional, and I had proof that I am a resident where I claim to be. Still, she was rude, dismissive, and not willing to help me at all, perhaps because all they want is to keep on making money off of people in the same situation as me. I have gone as far as having to stay somewhere else or having to leave my car at work in order to not get towed. I have paid almost $800 dollars altogether in towing fees. This whole situation has led me to start looking for a different place to live.Initial Complaint

My car was towed due to a expired visitor parking placard. They towed my car by force and completely damaged my brake system and transmission. On my daughter's birthday. They said I was supposed to make a damage report there but the maintenance required wasn't possible. And it won't hold any brake fluid. I just recently got my brakes done.Initial Complaint

Company has provided faulty stickers as an excuse to steal cars from the apartment complex: Buena Vista Estates. They have used this as an excuse to steal my car from outside of my apartment twice in the year and a half that I have lived here. No warning is given or communication made even though my cars are on file with the front desk. The stickers are to notify we are allowed to park here, but after a time simply fall off, you can clearly still see the sticker residue and again, the office has my cars on file. They commit these acts in the middle of the night so you cannot prove they did not take the stickers off the car after or during the theft. No documents were provided to me for the theft of my vehicle.Initial Complaint

On June 22nd, myself and my fiancée were walking out to my car when we immediately noticed the bottom left side of the car and hubcap were scraped/damaged. I saw the car that is always parked next to mine (1+ years) was gone He immediately began snapping photos and advised me that this was clearly mechanical damage from the car next to us being towed. I reached out to the property manager and spoke with Jared who informed me that they towed the vehicle on June 19th. The manager advised me to contact United Tows at XXX-XXX-XXXX and speak with the manager to request a damage investigation be opened. I immediately contacted United Tows and requested the manager. Someone by the name of "Shannon" came on the line and I began explaining the issue. She cut me off and said, "So why are you just seeing the damage?". I explained to her that we work from home and hadn't needed to leave until then. She begins going on and on about how "odd" it is that I'm just now reporting the damage. I asked her not to be condescending with me as this caused damage to my personal property. She said, "I'm not being 'condensending' to you". I asked that she review the tapes and video from the trucker (wrecker #29). She said she would review it and to call back the same day between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. I asked if there was another manager above her that works for United Tows, and she advised me no. My fiancée called back before 4:00-6:00 pm to request an email address to send the photos of damage caused. She provided [email protected], to which we sent the pictures. My fiancée called back after 5:00 pm and she told him she would not be able to review the wrecker's tape until the next morning at 11:00 am with another manager, Robert. My fiancée called back the next morning and was advised that Shannon was not in. He asked if there was another manager above her and a girl by the name of Lucy hung up on him. He called back and spoke with Vanessa who advised him that ***** is the GMBusiness Response
