I applied for work with Stevens Transport and gave them all the necessary documents needed and they accepted them. They then asked for my income and wages which i got through IRS.gov and submitted it to them. For weeks i was asked for different documents to include my Texas drivers license, birth paper, Social Security Number etc. which i gave to them. They then stated that everything was in order and asked when will i be coming to *****. I gave them the date of May 03, 2024 and i got my plane ticket which totaled $577.06. The business then asked for me to fill out a checklist and i ordered many items to include clothing. shoes, sleeping bags etc.. which totaled to be $239.89 the grand total i spent came up to be $816.95. I spoke to one ************************* the recruiter who i was corresponding with over the time to get ready to start the course on May 06, 2024. Today May 03, 2024 I already checked in waiting to leave for the states when I received a phone call from ************************* at about 12:02pm informing me that the company will not go forward with my course. I asked why and ****************** stated that the higher *** stated that i sent them falsified documents. I said to her how can they be falsified when they came from a legitimate website which Is IRS.GOV and i stated that that is defamation of character accusing me of something i didn't do. ****************** stated that there is nothing she can do and i asked are they going to compensate me for all the stuff i paid for out of pocket and she stated that someone will make contact with me which no one has called or emailed me since then.Business response

During the Grad phase of my employment I had 5 incidents that Stevens categorized as "avoidable accidents", even though none of them appear on my DAC. The 5th incident happened when a car illegally passed another truck who was entering a truck stop and hit my truck. There appeared to be physical damage to the front end collision sensor, but Road Rescue said it was still functional and I could continue to drive. However, *** said I needed to return to the Yard (via Greyhound) to discuss the incident and the truck would be towed back in the next day or two. Since I couldn't take all my property with me on the bus, I was told to lock the truck and my stuff would be returned to the yard with the truck. The next day i was fired and told I couldn't wait for my property to be returned, that it would be put in storage when the truck came back, then I'd have 30 days to retrieve it. No one would return my calls over the next week, so i sent a friend to check storage and my stuff was gone. They said it was never checked in. The friend said looked in my truck, the ** was still installed but the truck was cleaned out. They stole all of my personal property and (presumably) trashed my personal documents. I sent a grievance letter to driver relations and was told my property isn't their responsibility, even though it was me trusting their instructions that directly caused the loss of my items. Now they are demanding immediate repayment for training but their actions are directly hindering me from seeking new employment.Business response

My husband's car was totaled by a ******'s transport semi after the driver failed to adhere to the no-through trucks signs posted all over our neighborhood. He took out three poles one of which was the electrical transformer. We were without power for 8 hours. I had to miss half a work day because the driver was blocking my driveway. It has now been 8 days. We were not given a rental car because the company is "self insured" and they said they don't have accounts for stuff like that. I keep requesting an update and am being told it is being processed. Any reputable company would fix this right away. We have been without a vehicle for over 8 days and I have a family of 5. We may not be important to a billion-dollar company but we are people too and deserve to be treated with the upmost respect and things done in a timely manner and not at the convenience of when someone gets around to it.Business response

To whom it may concern:
************** was never an official employee of Stevens Transport. **** In 2019, 66% of all students were able to pass the written testing and road test in 4 weeks. While some students need more time to learn all the skills necessary to drive a commercial motor vehicle, Stevens Transports training program does not charge a student extra if they need more instructional time or practice driving.
The ******************************************* dictates how many times and how often a CDL candidate is allowed to take their road test. We allow drivers tocome to the ****** yard where we offer third-party testing. If their skills are still not good enough to pass, we keep working with them to pass the CDL driving test.
Stevens Transport and ***************** do their best to keep all the equipment up and running. Keep in mind the people driving the trucks daily are brand new drivers and therefore the equipment needs to be constantly repaired to keep in compliance with DOT requirements.
In this case, because of the unpredictable weather, everything was affected. ************** would have been given the choice to come to ****** for a quicker testing date, or stay in ******* where she lived, and wait for the ******* DPS office to reopen and allow for more testing. Students who to come to ****** for testingare not charged for housing. *************** was free to make her own arrangements, which she did.
************** could have left at any time if she felt unsafe or that her personal belongings were in jeopardy from the weather. There is no way Stevens Transport or ************** could have predicted how much rain would fall.
In addition, ************** would not have been eligible to driver for Stevens Tanker Division until she had a minimum of 6 months of experience driving a truck, and Stevens Tanker division permanently closed 10/15/2019.
************** passed her Road test, was awarded her CDL on 10/9/2019 and was fast-tracked to orientation on 10/10/2019. She was a no-show to orientation and thus was never hired. In Jan 2020, Stevens Transport, Inc. started collections on the student loan that Ms. **********;signed for her CDL license training. Mrs. **********;received her CDL license, and is able to use it anywhere to earn an income in trucking of her choosing.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: everything they saying doesnt have a time frame. Let alone they arent researching. Because in reality i did attend orientation because it was a over night parking training. Let alone they drove me to orientation on the golf cart and it's located in the main building. Top it of i had no choice but to go ******. The guy over the ******* school not bear but the black guy said I had to and was sending other people. I didnt say i wanted to work in the tankers division I said Stevens was closing down the tankers division and that put a hold on me finding a trainer because they had to assign the drivers they had. Far as fast track to get my cdl I came in with my permit already. Tell them to show dates pleaseBusiness response
09/12/2023
We do not understand what ************** is trying to gain from this complaint. She, like hundreds of other people, went through the Stevens *************** and received her Commercial Driving License. The timeline or how long it took ************** to complete the driving portion of the CDL training is irrelevant at this point. Yes, she came with her CDL permit, which is simply a written test done through the ********** of ***** Vehicles. Approximately twenty-five percent of all our students get the CDL Permit on their own before coming to school. Each student has to complete 160 hours of training regardless if they have their CDLP before starting.
We are unsure who the black guy from ***************** is that forced ************** to drive her personal car to ****** to continue her training and testing for her CDL. We have people drop out of the program all the time. No one is ever forced to do anything against their will.
************** was listed as a no-show to orientation because she never completed the orientation process. Drivers are not considered hired until they are on a trainer truck. She went missing in action before she got officially hired and started her on-the-job training. Its not uncommon for a trainee to have to wait for a trainer to become available. Especially for a female. We work very hard to make sure all our female drivers are placed with a trainer who has completed our cross-gender training.
Bottom line, ************** received her CDL without paying off her student loan. In an effort to end this cycle of nonsense, we have notified the collections agency hired to try and recover our cost of the training ************** received, to stop all collection efforts.Initial Complaint

The **** Department of Transportations ******************************************* regulations require holders of a commercial drivers permit or license to pass a drug and alcohol test as a prerequisite to hire. ************** failed his drug and alcohol test when he was affiliated with another motor carrier named New **********. ************** never disclosed to Stevens Transport, Inc. he failed his drug test at Prime. As part of Stevens Transport, Inc.s due diligence, it checked the *****s Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse records for any negative test for *************** The Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse showed a record existed on **************. Since ************** failed his drug and alcohol test with another motor carrier and there is no record that ************** went through the *****s rehabilitation program, the ***** regulations prohibited Stevens Transport, Inc. from hiring *************** ************** attended Stevens *************** of *****, L.P. commercial drivers license training program and it is his tuition costs that Stevens *************** of *****, L.P. seeks to be made whole. when I taking the drug test for prime trucking
medical examiner did not put it in the records that I was on Tylenol 3 and 4 with codeine due to a major Dental surgery during the drug test
I was prohibited from driving due to this violation because of an Inaccurate drug test.
when I tried to send prescription
to to Prime Trucking medical examiner.
I blame this Nightmare on Prime Trucking Medical Examiner
when I reached out to prime trucking examiner
they couldn't find me in the system where I taking a drug test with them.
To have the violation removed
I sent my medical records to the Cleaning House to resolve this violation.
I I did go to a rehab for a month
for smoking weed.
this had nothing to do with ******'s transportation
which I completed that program.
which it was resolved.
once everything was resolved through ******************* and was allowed to return back to duty.
I was rejected by ******'s transportation to complete the graduation course.
I taking the whole training course and was ready to graduate.
until I was told by one of Stevens
I cannot graduate because this violation that need to be solved first
II never failed a drug test with ******'s transportation
I was told by one of ******'s representative before I can graduate.
I need resolve violation with ******************* that was stoping me from driving..
which it was resolved
by returning back to duty.
I should not have to pay the full amount of ***** dollars
after they have rejected me
once I have proved to them this violation was inaccurate

I am not liable for this debt with Stevens Transportation, and I do not have a contract with Williams Rush & Associates plus they did not provide me with the original application like I asked. Account No: 1623XXX Amount Disputed: $6,539.00Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/20) */ To whom it may concern: ***** ***** attended CWW and was hired 11/13/19. He voluntarily and quit 12/23/19. He did not make any payments towards his loan. He inquired about using his VA benefits to pay for his tuition on 11/20/19, but the VA denied his application due to the reason he was discharged from the military. He as notified on 1/2/20 that his VA benefits were denied and sent a collections notice the same day with an offer to pay the discounted balance in full or set up a payment plan to avoid collections. He did not respond to the collections notice and was sent to collections on 2/3/20. He then called in on 6/1/20 asking if he could pay off his debt through us directly, and Stevens Transport offered him a one-time discounted price of $3239 to remove from collections. He stated he would pay the one-time payment by 6/8/20, but we never got a response. Thank you.
