We purchased a shipping container tiny home from Bob's containers. We received the container many months ago. The mini-split AC system has never worked. ***** has a 1 year warranty for all parts. We contacted ***** many months ago to report the issue. ***** has not been responsive or fixed the issue. They said they would hire someone to get replacement parts for the unit. This never happened. We hired our own HVAC technician who after much work and searching, determined replacement parts for this unit are not longer made. We then found out from a negative online ****** review from another ***** customer that she had the exact same unit that never worked and had no replacement parts. ***** responded to her online review so they have been aware of the issue. ***** last stated 9/19/24 in an email to us that they would have a technician sent out or a replacement unit sent out by the end of that week. It never happened. **** contacted them again on 9/26/24 and ***** never responded. We still have had no response, no repair and no new mini-split unit from ***** as of 10/9/2024. This appears to be a pattern of behavior from Bob's containers and we are looking for help from the BBB. **** is a special education school teacher in ********** and cannot afford to be spending his own money for ***** lack of providing a promised working good.Initial Complaint

It has now been almost 2 months since the delivery of my container. Since its delivery date on December 4th, 2023, I have had an open support ticket regarding the many defects and issues on my build. The container home was purchased for $151,293.24 from Bobs Containers. Bobs Containers has failed to follow our contractual agreement by responding to the claim and resolving the issues regarding the container. The container arrived with a long list of defects and missing items. Bob's Containers has failed to follow the legal contractual agreement and 1. Respond to the claim in a timely manner, 2. Assess the container in a timely manner, and 3. Provide a resolution (repair the defects, pay to reimburse for repair of the defects, or fully refund and return the container purchased).Initial Complaint

In July ***************************************** the subfloor of one of a container home which we bought and received from Bobs Containers in January 2023. The sales agreement stated that the home would be free of water infiltration, and that a one year warranty covers any issues with the home. The source was determined by multiple contractors we had examine our home to be leaking sliding glass door frames and/or a hole in the side of the top container that was never closed during installation of the ** condenser. They have not offered any help, suggestion or solutions. They ignore my emails, and when they answer the phone they tell me they are going to have a meeting about it and never call or email any solutions. This has been going on for 6 months now. These issues clearly breach the sales agreement section about water protection in the home. From the extensive research Ive done, mold is already an issue with this type of construction. Now that we are certain water damage has occurred, mold is sure to follow. We have tried at length to have the company fix this issue, but after months of them stalling and deflecting any responsibility or accountability, they are now essentially ignoring me. We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars of our on money trying to figure out a solution. All we want is home that doesn't flood which is what we were promised. We want someone from the company to come help, but they have offered no solution whatsoever. I cannot believe the lack of follow through and accountability on their part. Considering small claims court, but hoping they will resolve this before that. We just want to solve this and to move on.Initial Complaint

We received a custom build from Bob's Containers after a long process with multiple communication issues. We received the container with plumbing and electric rough in so we could have a framing inspection in MD. Unfortunately, the container quality was poor and not built to IRB code which is what our local county follows and does not have any county specific requirements. We were assured it would meet code. For example, each bedroom did not have a wired smoker detector and one of the plumbing drain junctions was installed backwards. Furthermore, the water lines were installed too close to the outside container wall making it impossible to get the amount of insulation required by code to insulate the water lines. As a result, we have had to pay locally to have these things repaired. We are now awaiting a default judgement hearing from small claims court. We were assured that we would receive a $14,000 refund on shipping costs because we were able to find our own shipping company to transport the containers. We were told this would take about a week but the following 3 weeks we did not receive any response to follow up emails until the last week, at which we were told we would have a release contract by the end of said week. No contract was ever generated and thus we filed in small claims court. They were served by the court system in ****** County and never responded by the court's deadline which is why it is now moving to a default judgement. I will update this review as we continue in this process.Of note, we wrote a review a few months ago when we were having communications issues which was the only way to get ***'s to respond to us. They agreed to build the container but advised us we were violating a non-disparagement clause in our contract and to remove the review. There is no such clause in our contract, and we have documentation supporting that Bob's Containers has violated their own contract which would make any such clause voided anyways.Initial Complaint
