My daughter, **** *******, is a tenant at the Eighteen51 Brinker Apartments and a UNT student (with disabilities). She requested to terminate her lease early without penalty due to doctor putting her on strict bed rest due to high-risk pregnancy/disability and was not able to work any more. She was able to get out of her pregnancy but with a $2700 charge. After many times of trying to convince her that she was not able to work therefore could not pay the charge, she finally agreed after the manager giving her 6 months to pay it. Yesterday she received her final statement that had false claims that said she left trash and broke the lease due to "loss of job." When my daughter tried to dispute the charges and showed her video of the apartment completly empty, the manager responded with "this matter is considered closed and not up for debate." We have given the manager doctor notes stating that she can no longer work or live there due to her disability. We seek resolution in release from the lease without penalty ($3,000) and trash charge that was unfounded ($50).

We are unable to change an *** form filled out by the lease holder. The lease holder verbally told me she lost her job and wrote down on the *** form the reason for moving out was due to financial hardship. Weeks later, she came to me asking to waive the fee due to her pregnancy and we explained several times, medical reasons are not a valid reason to void the term fee per the lease. We walked the unit after keys were given and provided pictures of charges that are being disputed. All charges do stand.
