My complaint regarding Scott Brown Properties is based primarily on the retaliatory/unethical grounds in which SBP chose to deny my family the ability to renew our rental homes lease. This was the first rental home my family has lived in that was through a property management company. Our previous home, rented from the owner directly was three houses down from this house. We lived in the previous home for nearly 8 years and our experience was the polar opposite of what it has been with SBP. I should start by stating that we weren't even able to make it through one full lease term with SBP before we were served with the notice of non-renewal of our lease, in spite of a stellar payment history. It is my belief that SBP decided to serve us with our non-renewal notice as a result of complaints I have made regarding the properties condition. I speculate that SBP routinely attempts to circumvent properly managing and/or maintaining some or all of their properties by simply doing away with tenants that file complaints regarding the condition of their rental in exchange for those that won't. I believe they'll repeat this cycle indefinitely to capitalize on the desperate nationwide demand for rental homes. Families shouldn't be living in conditions below legal standards for fear of not having a place to call home! SBP intimate understanding of the parameters within which they can/do legally operate in these situations is what has likely kept them from having to deal with serious violations. They manipulate a system geared to protect property owners and managers. It is for reasons of unethical business practices, first and retaliation second that my complaint is being submitted. The above information does serve its purpose in generalizing the nature of my complaint. However, there are supporting details that need to be explained in order for this complaint to be fully understood. These key details simply will not fit in this initial space provided.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/07) */ To Whom this Concerns, The Current lease for the ******** ends on 06/27/2022. We sent out a non renewal notice per the property owners request on 03/01/2022. WE have the right to non renew the lease contact per the lease agreement if we chose to do so. I am unsure of the issue in regards to this matter. We manage multiply properties and send out non renewals on a regular basis if requested to do so.
