I have been trying to open a business checking account with ********************** both online and in person at a branch since May, to no avail? The first time I tried online and a ****************** responded and asked for the credentials needed. She passed my application to a rep named ********************, where I was then told there was an issue that needed to be corrected through the comptroller. After correcting everything over the phone with the comptroller, I waited a few weeks as instructed by a ******************** for things to update. After a month, I inquired again only to receive an explanation from ******************** claiming that they were still waiting yet I was never clear on what they were "waiting for." Earlier this month and several months later, I went to a branch the second time and was directed to the same ****************** from May who proceeded with the same run around. I sent an email inquiring of the status a few days ago and she responded by saying that she was awaiting a response from her supervisor. I asked ****************** that she provide me the reason for not being able to open an account if I was in fact denied. I don't know what the reason is but I can definitely attest that GECU is extremely discourteous and borderline discriminative. I see no reason why I'm ineligible on the research I did and they have refused to process my application even though I have provided every document required based on their brochure. The shear audacity of how GECU has blatantly delayed my application for months is mind boggling! I simply don't understand what I did to deserve to be seemingly disregarded as a lower class citizen not even worthy of an explanation let alone a business bank account. That can't be what the ethics of GECU are based on or are they? My inquiry is the same as back in May, I would like to open an account with ********************** here in *******. If not, please provide an explanation of why and what needs to be done. Why did it have to come to this? What my application offensive?GECU

GECU no longer provides good customer service, it was once a bank with great service. BUT lately there is no more personal touch to customer service. I could not talk to a real person. It was a simple question related to my debit card. No, I did not want to cancel it but simple enough question. I had to drive to a branch and walk in and ask. It took 30 seconds to answer. I had tried call from late morning to early afternoon but after trying multiple times during the day. When asking to open an account for my son, I was told to go do it on my own. Very disappointed, that they did not want to do it or even attempt to try or explain why they didn't want to even try. I also have tried to open an account for my son. There was an issue and I emailed back but No Response and it's been a few days. I helped guide a lot of co-workers and family to this back but I think it's time to move on somewhere else.GECU

We were able to clarify the acceptable form of identification required by the credit union and process of opening an account online. Gecu is taking money out of my account as a return which should have never happened this is not acceptable at all taking people's money away 5 times they let charges go thru and put my account in the negative and then charges the return fee so they can make money off thier customers I can't believe they do this I want the return fees credited back to my accountGECU

It is unfortunate to see how this credit union has taken a dive in regards to consistency and service. You would think that employees are trained on the policies to at least provide a uniformed level of service. I've been with them for over 35 years. I've recently had to reach out to them for personal financial reasons. Each associate I've talked with has provided a totally different response. Today I had to go directly with a Supervisor in order to resolve my issue. To say that an associate thanked me for teaching him something about the job he is paid to perform is rather embarrassing. I will be closing my accounts here soon. Managers, please provide your employees the proper training so they can perform their jobs. Development is crucial in every position.GECU

Ive been banking with GECU for the past 6 years going on 7 years. I recently opened a car loan and Ive never had so many issues until now. They have messed up the whole process and have not taken this very seriously or prioritized this whole process. Im currently Active duty for the Army and I am pcsing and have been trying to get a vehicle for the past month. Its been a long week and they seem to not care to get the process going after Ive provided every document and information needed as the dealership has been doing their best to do their part and contacting GECU themselves and have realized how crazy this whole process has been. Theyve never dealt with a difficult process until theyve met this bank. The whole online loan process is not a way to go. I dont know how long their process has to take after the loan has been 90% finalized and all they needed was a letter of agreement. *** tried my best to hype this bank up but I think its time to close it and move on. The dealership even got their stuff together in one day. Crazy how a dealership will help out more than a bank who is rated so good as they say.GECU

**** **** **** ********* ***** **** ******Every time a business tries to charge your account WHETHER OR NOT IT GOES THROUGH, GECU apparently charges you $29.50. We have text notifications set up and received nothing.**** ** *** ********** ** ***** **** **** **** **** ******* ** ** ** ****** ******* *** **** **** ***** **** ***** ******* ** *** **** **** ******* *** ******* Our account never went negative, we got zero notice the charge was even attempted, and yet they ***** $29.50.Employee/Supervisor ****** ***** is a joke, he refused to reverse the transaction. In April 2023 I traded in my Dodge journey for a 2017 ****** 4Runner at right drive. When I signed for the 4Runner it was advised to me that there was negative equity from the journey that was going to be added on to the new loan. Which I clearly understood and was ok with because I really wanted the vehicle at the time and I was also told that GECU was approving me at a lower interest rate but the issues im having now with this vehicle started as soon as I started making the payments in July 2023. For the first few months ALL of my payments were being applied towards the interest. When I called to see what was going on they had advised me that the reason why was due to me not having a payment due for the first 90 days. So I was told that I was paying off the interest that accrued during that time. Which was not clearly explained to me at the dealership. To make a long story short, Ive continued to make my payments every month since then up until now. As of today, Ive made 8 payments of $693.26 totaling to $5,546.08 and as of my last payment only $403.40 of the total ive paid has been applied to my principle. The only things to note is that ive asked for 2 ************** have not been able to maintain full coverage insurance simply because I cannot afford it. Even with that said, I still dont find it sufficient to understand how and why theyve managed to house $5,142.68 of what ive paid. Ive called their loans department to seek resolution. No one has made an effort to help me. Last time I called, I ended up talking to 3 different people and I kept having to go over the whole situation again with each one. They were just empathizing & giving me a complete runaround by transferring me to the next person to get it off their hands. The last rep told me she was going to have upper management call me back to see about further options to resolve this and of course they didnt. This dealership really put me in a bad situation with this bank and my money.GECU

On January 12 th I made a payment for a car loan with GECU on their app Their system did a double charge for the car loan I called the bank immediately with no resolution but to wait 5 days after I still see the second pending transaction still holding the money from my account and ********************** instruct me to call my ********* to file a dispute and wait 10 to 15 days to get my money back ******* ********* **** **** ******** ** **** ***** **** ** ********** *** **** ***** **** *********** ****** ** ***** ** ***** **** **** ********* *** ** **** *** *** **** *** ***** ********** ** **********This impacting lifes specially when some of this double charges are over **** dlls or even more Customers need their money immediately ***** **** **** ***** ** ******* ** ******** ************************* ***** *** **** *** ****GECU

Mr. *********************** was contacted by GECU ******* Center Assistant Manager, *********************, to discuss his concern regarding a double debit hold to ************ Services account; for a loan payment he processed for his GECU loan. ************** was provided a detailed explanation of the issue that our payment processing vendor had encountered, which caused the double debit hold. I had to cancel my card a week ago, and GECU barely shipped my card. I called multiple times in the past week, and someone spoke to me and let me know it would be expedited Wednesday. I had received no tracking information, and the employees had no idea when it would come in. Now, if I miss the package by a few minutes running errands, I will get my card sent back. There is so much instability and confusion in this bank, and no one seemed to know what was going on, nor could they provide any answers. In my next visit to *******, Ill be cancelling my accounts and will be heading to chase. Its such a shame, I always felt comfortable and content with this bank, but the lack of consistency and good service lately is hard to ignore.GECU

GECU Location at ************************************** ** Today Nov 1st 2023, I went to cash and insurance check to pay for a transmission repair on my **** VW Atlas. Previously I had spoken to the Branch manager to understand what where the requirement to cash a check that had GECU and my name under it. The manager said I would need to bring the invoice showing that the repair had been done. That is exactly what I did. When I got to the location they (************) told me that was not sufficient and that I would have to figure out a way to bring the car to the location to ensure the car was actually fixed and running. I could not believe what I was been asked for. Unfortunately I had to make arrangement with the dealership so that they could bring the car in. This could have created a bigger deal if the dealership driven would had gone into an accident thank god nothing happened. I have been a customer with ********************** for ** years and this has pushed me to find a diff Bank to work with. I am sending this message to make sure GECU has a better on boarding process and training for new managers and other people does not go to what I had deal with. I later spoke to ****'s Mgr ***** and he agreed with me that that should had never happened. A call to the dealership or even a video of the car running should had been sufficient.GECU

On November 1st, ****************** del Rio presented an insurance check made payable to GECU for repairs to his vehicle which was negotiated on the same day. We made contact with ************************** on November 3rd to address his concerns regarding the check acceptance process. ************************** was satisfied with our response and follow up of his concern.
