On 1/27/24 I went to *****'s to have my Check Engine light diagnosed on my **** ******* Veracruz and was advised that I needed a VVT Solenoid and Connector. They did the work ($589). I picked up the car at 3:30 & immediately had to turn around & take it back running worse than when I left it & the light back on asked that the Owner call me. They were closing the Mechanic did something that appeared to fix it. I drove it 2 miles home. The next morning went to drive it & light back on, no acceleration & rattling. Monday morning I took it back asked that the owner call me again (Still has not called me 6 days) I also asked for a copy of the receipt as proof they ordered and replaced my part (as they advised it had to be ordered) they still will not provide proof that they ordered a part (Solenoid) for my car. They say they worked on the *********** drivable they give me a quote for $2148 as they say it now needs a Engine Wiring Harness. I take it for a 2nd opinion. The Other mechanic advised after spending $150 Diagnotic fee 1. They replaced a end to the connector and taped up the wires 2. The solenoid looks old and not replaced 3. the engine intake hose was not connected & 4. the intake manifold gasket is leaking which could have resulted in all the Codes the check engine light was giving ********* should have seen this. The 2nd mechanic said he did not see a need for an Engine Wiring Harness. He suggest I go back and ask for proof of the Solenoid, Have them show me under the hood what they replaced and if they are not willing to do that, then request my money back. I did exactly this and was told by ****, the manager they do not give proof parts are purchased, they would not let me in the garage to see under the hood what they are working on & they fixed what I paid for. So I told them I was going to file a complaint and he said fine. If this was a reputable shop they would not have any issues proving they did the right work.

On 8/5/23 we took our truck to this shop to get an ** diagnostic because it was not working. The diagnostics given was that the compressor needed to be changed. We had recently changed all the other parts of the ** system except the compressor. We were told that the new compressor can be bought by the shop through Oreilys. We agreed on this and we were told that the shops work has a 2 year guarantee while the part itself has a lifetime guarantee. When it came time to pay the part and some of the labor was lumped together on the bill which was weird. We asked why because we wanted to see how much the compressor by itself was. The owner then changed the bill around and added an extra hour of labor, however the new bill ended up being $20 less which he refunded to us. This was already weird. When we asked to see the bill for the compressor they bought they said they do not provide that to customers. How am I supposed to know that my part was in fact bought at Oreilys and that it does have the lifetime guarantee? We paid ******. We left and realized although the ** was working it was not cooling to the temperature that it needed. We took it back on Saturday 8/12. We were told it would be ready Monday. It wasnt ready until Thursday. They said they looked at it and it looks like it just needs a system cleaning. We were never given a quote and we assumed this was under the shops warranty since we were guaranteed the first time that the ** would work properly. They ended up changing a valve without our consent or even telling us and were trying to charge another 529. We did not pay this as the ** is now worse than the 1st time we picked it up. Its now barely cooling to 80s when it should be cooling to 60s. We were told On Thursday before we picked it up that the ** now works properly through txtThe mechanic said it does not. Their address is ******************************************************* from what they have on BBB. All these inconsistencies makes me think they are scamming people.
