Company stated I opened an account with them and have a$1,100. Only problem this account was established in my name by some body else. Today was my first contact with them never received any email or text from them. Also just received a paper mailed stating I was approved for $3,500 loan but never applied. They give no reason on why I might have applied.

      - 5/28/2024 - Applied using ********** connected via Plaid - Asked for bank statements to confirm, supplied last 6 months.- Most recent bank statement end of month balance was negative because of Chime line of credit - Plaid shows positive current balance Denied due to supposed not in good standing account. Refused to consider line of credit scenario, or that Plaid was showing as good standing.

I am rejecting this response because: a bank statements' negative balance on a checking account with a line of credit is not reflection of the checking account's standing.

Given the prevalence of similar lines of credit on checking accounts, future customers should be aware of this additional hidden criteria.

The company advertises online loans with interest rate of 59%, which is against Georgia's law on predatory lending but like a fool I applied and received a loan of $7000 which did help for a moment due to out of work and huge medical bills from a heart attack and stroke. After recovering somewhat I came to my senses and tried to settle with Rise Credit of Georgia for a reasonable amount, already had paid them several thousand dollars in payments, they refused and I stopped my ACH ($175 per payday/$350 per month) they turned it over to a debt collection agency named ******************* who wasn't any better to deal with, having to pay $175 per month for 32 months. The interest rate with Rise was much closer to 299% - again illegal. I realize that I made a mistake with this loan but was not thinking straight. It is a huge burden and again illegal.

I borrowed $4000 on 12/07/2023. My first payment was made on 12/15/2023(didn't think that was enough time to make a payment considering i needed a loan. Yes i need the loan but didn't realize i would have to pay over $10,000 back. I already made over $2500 in payments and my loan was still at $4000 as of April. So i paid the balance off. The interest rate is extremely high. I fill like i was ripped off. I am totally disappointed in myself for getting this loan.

I applied and received an approval for a loan from risecredit.com in 4/2023. I realized a few days later that I had put an old checking account into the application where the funds were to be deposited. I called rise a few days after the loan was already said to have been deposited and told them of my error. I also informed the rep that I no longer needed the funds from the loan and I wanted to cancel the loan. He told me that the my bank would just return the loan funds since the account they were supposed to be deposited into was closed. He told me I didnt need to take any further action because rise would cancel the loan after it was returned. 7/2023 I was still receiving payment notifications for this loan. I contacted rise again and they told me I needed to do a conference call with my bank so they could verify the account on the application was closed and the funds from the loan were returned. I did the conference call and the bank confirmed the account was closed but they had no record of money coming or going from the account because it was closed. The bank rep told rise that the loan funds wouldve automatically been returned since the account was closed. The representative from Rise said she would have to look into this further and contact me at a later time. During this time the payments for this loan were being paid(not by me). I explained this to rise representative that it was extremely weird these payments were being made, and I was not the one paying them. I contacted rise again in January. Whomever was making the payment stopped in December. In January the Rise representative told me that through an internal investigation they had determined that the loan was deposited into another customers account, and the same customer was making the payments from April to December. He said they were working on a resolution with the other customer, and they would be in contact. My loan account should be closed and the other customer responsible for this loan.

Below is a recap of the email I sent to their support email on February 2nd which they never acknowledged with an emailed response.I'm writing today for my extreme displeasure with your handling of my account of which I will be reporting ************** to the Better Business Bureau. On December 14, I was emailed a settlement offer on my account. Pay $428.21 and my account would be closed (a 50% reduction on my balance at the time of $856.42). To do so, I needed to call the *****# or login into My Account and pay the amount. On December 15, I logged into My Account and paid $428.21 and assumed my account would be settled. When I had subsequent phone calls to confirm my account was closed, I had a few conversations with operators who informed me that because I didn't "activate" my settlement offer it wasn't valid. I still don't understand what these means as I was simply going off the instructions of the email sent. Obviously, RISE understood my intent here and I was left to believe that a manager was going to override this for me as it had been "escalated".The last time I called back to see if my account had been closed, I was rudely told that my settlement wasn't processed and there was nothing that could be done and I would still have a remaining balance.I can say that what you have done here is both predatory and unethical. Because RISE doesn't clearly and properly disclose in its email in BIG BOLD LETTERS that an offer needs to be "accepted" first, I, the consumer, gets taken advantage of. You knew EXACTLY what my intent was here to take the offer and to close my account yet bait and switched me to believe that I could. This is a very shameful way of doing business with credit customers and not only will I be reporting you to the BBB, but also recommending your services to NO ONE.Can't wait until this account is paid off and closed and done with.Shame on you RISE Financial!
