We purchased a 2021 Puma. Around the end of summer 2021 the refrigerator stopped working. We contacted the dealer to set a day to bring it in for service. We were informed the soonest we could bring it in October 9th. Let me just say youre appt. day to drop it off has nothing to do with when they will get to it. We waited a few weeks and my husband finally contacted them to see what the problem was. They said the compressor was out and there was a Freon leak. Said we would get a new fridge. Then we call back and are told the manufacturer wants photos. After a month and a half we were able to pick it up on November 28, 2021. At that time we were informed the fridge would be replaced. My husband received a phone call yesterday February 2nd saying the circuit breaker was just being replaced. Then he was informed he could not bring it in for the repairs until March 1st. At this time the employee reads an email received from the manufacturer on Jan 1, 2022. The email states that it would be sent by *** the following day. So they receive the part and do not bother to contact us until February 3rd? The employee tried hard to give some BS story that they get lots of packages and I guess like in a month they just got to it. So now here we are February 3, 2022 and we have our 1 camping trip on March 11. However we cant bring he trailer in until March 1st. My husband asked how long they would keep the camper. She says its 6 hrs of work so a week. So does that mean they will work one hour a day on it? Plus I guarantee it will not be ready. It will be sitting out there in their lot just like all the others on here have stated. I honestly have know clue as to how this company remains in business. This is the absolute worst experience in customer service I have had. Maybe they sit back there and gossip and drink coffee. What I do know is they arent fixing a thing until they feel like it. Never purchase from this company no matter what city.

We have an appointment for 3/1 for you to bring in your trailer and get it fixed. I have our VP of Operations handling this himself. We will do our best to get you on the road again.

      Thank you.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

This acceptance is dependent on the fact that our camper arrives on March 1st and will be repaired within that week.  The employees in the service department are not doing their jobs in an efficient manner.  From what I have read on this website, every individual has issues with this department.  This tells myself that there is no concern for the quality customer service in this part of the business.  In my opinion if it takes a month to call a customer to inform them the part has arrived, that is a serious problem.  Which is clearly seen by the number of complaints on BBB and customer reviews on other sites I have read.

I bought this Road Warrior 430RW $80k trailer in July of 2020. Since then I have had constant problems with it. It has spent more time on the repair lot of Funtown RV than at my house. The biggest problem as been the front slide out opening up while driving down the road. Along with that issue i have had a broken toilet, leaking windows, a broken door, a broken **, a broken fridge and fuel gauges that had to be repaired. I am still to this day waiting on repairs and the issues to be resolved. I have attached an email chain that goes back to June of 2021 when it spent almost 4 months in the shop. I brought it home and brought it back a few days later. It was in there prior and a few times after that as well. Obviously the biggest problem is the front slide opening up while driving down the road since this does pose a safety risk not only for me and my family but those on the road near me. They have attempted repairs multiple times and it is still not corrected. And as it stands right now I am still waiting on the Fridge to be secured and the ** to still be replaced. It is apparent that the slide problem can not be corrected and I would like this unit to be purchased back from me by Funtown. What good is paying $80k for a travel trailer if it can not be used. It has been down and in the shop for the majority of the time I have owned it. I have attached a copy of the email chain started in June of 2021 but also have texts messages I can add if needed along with pictures. All of these problems began right after the purchase.

I talked to the service manager and he says you are dropping off your RV for us to evaluate what needs to be fixed.

We will call you after the diagnosis.

I bought this camper 10/29/21 and have had nothing but problems with it. I took it in to be worked on initially for the water heater problem after a couple weeks of having my unit. Then noticed when I got it back that I was having plumbing issues. I took it back to Fun Town in San Angelo and was told this was my fault when the plumbing is to long. I cant even get someone to call me back. Now there is additional issues that are going on and it seems like Im on the back burner and they just sale it to you and then be done with you. The Gm is no help and I have gotten nothing but the run around. No one seems to wanna help. I have additional issues. I simply want this fixed but there is no communication at this dealership what so ever. The service advisor has a horrible attitude and refuses to call me back or let me know whats going on with my unit.

THEY TOLD ME THE ***** PRICE WAS ********* DOLLARS HOWEVER AFTER SIGNING THE PAPERWORK I TOOK TRAVEL TRAILER HOME TO DISCOVER THAT THE ***** PRICE WAS ********* DOLLARS. THIS IS PRINTED ON THEIR PAPERWORK IN A PLASTIC SLEEVE INSIDE TRAILER ON COUNTER BY THE STOVE.ALONG WITH PAPERWORK IN SEPERATE SLEEVES STATING AS IS NO WARRANTY. I HAVE TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO CONTACT THEM AFTER THE FIRST CONVERSATION I HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY IGNORED. I WOULD LIKE FOR THEM TO REFUND THE DIFFERENCE INCLUDING TAX OR REDO THE PAPERWORK WITH CORRECT PRICE. IF REDOING PAPERWORK IT WILL NEED TO BE DONE IN THE CLEBURNE OFFICE. WORSE CASE WILL ACCEPT STORE CREDIT WITH AN INCREASE OF 500 DOLLARS TO THE DIFFERENCE IN THE AMOUNT. YES I AGREED TO THE AMOUNT HOWEVER IF IT IS ON SALE THEN THEY SHOULD HONOR THEIR SALE PRICE. Good afternoon,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize for the misunderstanding, however the tag you found in the unit was put in by mistake prior to any work done by Fun Town RV to fix up the unit. In addition, this trailer has never been in our system or advertised at the 23k price. The only price ever put on our website was for the 25k price. Unfortunately, we will not be refunding anything to you at this time as you purchased a used trailer "as is" for the price advertised and at no point during the sale and transaction did we represent that the trailer being anything but the price advertised and finding a piece of paper in the unit post-sale does not obligate Fun Town RV to rework the price for you.

      Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: I am waiting on a check to be sent to the lender for the above mentioned price difference. Hopefully this matter will be resolved at this time.

Bought a camper from fun town location in ****** new unit. The unit had water damage and it was serviced 2x at the ****** and Tyler location one before we picked up and they had the repairs complete cosmetically because now we are stuck with a camper that has floor water damage that we were told was 8k of damage when we went to trade in at the waco location. We had been working on a deal for 3 weeks, the salesman was great, finance was not very helpful did not follow up was quick for an application to be complete but no follow up after I was the one reaching out. I got my own financing outside them and had drafting instructions sent to them so we could schedule the pick up. Arrived they checked out the trade and made us aware of the dark spot that this camper has had since we bought was water damage and they backed out of the deal after our loan had been funded. As well as their unit was dirty, had dog hair, dog food in vents in floor, shower had scum, vents in ceiling dirty. Was not a make ready at all. But we had to buy a 1500$ hitch, drive 3 hours hauling a camper and get there and come right back with sorry we cant do it. And this is fun town issue to begin with.

Giddings ***** Location. The sales price was not the same as the agreed upon amount. We bought our 2021 Gravity on 5/29/21 and have the purchase agreement showing $57,250 which included B&W slider receiver and they charged us $61,276.61 and installed a non slider puck receiver. They did not give us the package with our pins to the mattress for the rails in the toybox. There was one rim that did not match the others which we had pointed out at the time of the walk thru. There was damage to the right side of the trailer which parts of the trailer inside the storage box. Missing screws for the ** mount, Looks like mold dotting the ceiling above the **. Overall we are disappointed with the quality and misleading cost we had agreed upon. We had to point out the damage and rim difference since they obviously were not going to mention to us, and found that the trailer had a tire blowout when it was being delivered to Fun Town. We were told the correct rim would be delivered to the ****** location (closer to us) to get changed out but instead they called to tell us that it was delivered to Giddings. It has been over 5 months and we still don't know what is going on with that.We are looking to get the difference from the agreed upon amount and the sales price. And all damaged or missing parts replaced. We also want the correct slider receiver instead of the one provided.

Purchased 65k RV. Excellent purchasing experience only to find out that our unit had serious and dangerous electrical issues that the ******** dealership knew about prior to our picking up (among other defects that were listed as fixed that were not). 2 counter tops have screws protruding from beneath. Multiple trim around windows have protruding screws. GFI electrical has reversed polarity. USB changing system is not working correctly. Multiple outlets are installed crooked as well as tv mount. Mid trip we are unloading and returning to the dealership 70+ miles away. We have no idea what our next steps will be because we've been ghosted by all 3 people we've spoken to at the ******** location.

      Complaint: ********

I will be trying to contact you this week. The most frustrating part of this ordeal is lack of response from the sales managers when I began experiencing dangerous electrical issues. Some of the issues you and I will discuss are listed below. ..

I've been working on a full list while we are away. So far items of concern are listed below.

      -Screws protruding from beneath/behind
      Vanity countertop
      Entertainmemt countertop
All 5 slides..coming through the center trim piece

-Fireplace does not respond to remote (was noted with ****** at walk through, batteries were changed by her and again by us) It appears it is crooked and not installed correctly. The remote cannot communicate.

      -Multiple Crooked outlet covers

-USB outlets do not function consistently

-GFCI circuit remains a concern. The live wire to ground was corrected however main and gfci breakers continue to trip frequently with limited use of electronics.

      Other concerns

The electrical was a very dangerous situation. The entire ground circuit was charged with 120v. We are lucky no one was electrocuted and that there was no fire.

We have requested numerous times information regarding a sink cover for our unit but received no response from sales.

I believe that the **** tanks are mis plumbed or incorrect size. The master bath **** should not be full after 2-3 conservative showers.

We were told the radio had an app for wireless control but I can not find one.

      Rear camera does not work.

The fact that the dealership sales and repair teams knew of the electrical issues (confirmed by **** work order) and knowingly sold us a unit missing features and incorrect build sheet data is being taken as fraud and we plan on handling it as such.

We have also repeatedly asked that the service contract we were misled into purchasing be canceled after finding that it had not been activated after purchase and does not cover the items we were tol. We will be seeking a full refund of that service plan as indicated in writing in our emails to your dealership.

      Regards,

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

We have not been given a date for an appointment in January. We have not received confirmation of full refund for the bogus warranty we were sold. We continue to find defects with our camper. The toilet is leaking water at the base, shower walls separating and finish on bathroom fixtures is coming off.

This unit is a lemon. There are laws against knowingly selling a consumer a lemon.

We need a mutually agreed upon date to bring in so that verification can be made and appropriate steps be taken to get us out of this lemon and into a camper that is not suffering from a 2 page list of major defects. We have not even had our camper 2 months.

Fun Town appears to be using common tactics to defer and not stand by the product that was sold to us with documented issues.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

This issue is not resolved. We are attempting to return the trailer to the Cleburne location on 1.26.22 due to the gross amount and dangerous (life threatening electrical) of defects. Our plan is to leave with a different model. The estimated deal that was sent from the dealership is not acceptable as we lose $25,000 on a purchase was that is not even 3 months old. We purchased our RV on 11.11.21, our 10th wedding anniversary. Fun Town RV was notified of these defects beginning on November 18th. We have not been able to use our trailer due to the following:

As expressed to us this rv was known to have multiple, dangerous electrical and other issues noted in dealership service paperwork dated 11.9.21

This RV was listed as 38 ft long. It is 43 ft long. We questioned this at delivery and we're told 38 ft was the accurate length.

Upon speaking with repair scheduler at ****** location we were told not to use our camper until it is resolved as someone could be electrocuted. We have been shocked and the gfci breaker will no remain engaged without tripping. A simple plug tester shows reverse polarity to all plugs.

Improperly installed outlets and TV mount. Living room TV mount and 4+ plugs are crooked. There are crooked plugs throughout our camper.

Improperly installed and crooked fireplace. The hot air from fireplace, controls and remote sensor are all blocked.

Neither fold out couches sit flat when opened. They each have approximately a 15 degree angle forcing all pressure into one 2 inch spot rather than the entire support.

Living Room floor has a 3x2 portion of the floor that has a raised bump.

22 protruding screws/ staples in the living room left slide trim.

28 protruding screws/ staples in the livimg room right side slide trim.

      Multiple ceiling trim falling off/loose.

1 protruding s**** from below entertainment countertop.

Multiple window valance trim coming loose.

Inoperable window blinds throughout. Will not stay down and tangle themselves.

24 protruding screws/staples in dining slide trim. Uneven trim around kitchen bathroom.

34 protruding screws/staples in kitchen slide.

Window trim falling in dining slide.

      Crooked plugs in bedroom.

Protruding s**** from below bathroom counter.

Shower walls separated from camper walls.

Trim below bathroom counter has fallen off.

Rear **** tank leaks and is smaller than the listed size.

      Closet light does turn off.

      Multiple ceiling straps falling off.

Inoperable USB ports in bedroom. (Work intermittently)

      Leaks behind both toilets.

      Leak below kitchen sink.

We have faith in the Cleburne location and Fun Town RV to do the right thing in this situation. We have no plans to trade in our unit because we want a new/different model. We do wish to return this unit and purchase one that does not have potentially deadly defects without Fun Town essentially stealing $25,000 from us. I have attached the 4 images allowed and will be emailing more.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

After looking at 4 units we found one that was "acceptable". After much discussion we took a substantial financial loss to get this different rv. We have found issues that were supposedly repaired prior to delivery and some wiring issues. ******** Fun Town found during make ready that tank level sensors were reading incorrectly and told us they were repaired prior to us leaving with us. Upon first use we found that the master bath black tank was reading full in error and the fresh water tank reading empty with water in it. I further investigated and found that 3 holes had been cut in the bottom/solid belly of our brand new camper and poorly taped to access wiring to some of these sensors. The black tank sensor was incorrectly wired and poorly spliced by the ******** location. The tape applied to the belly was falling off.

The under belly of this unit is solid because it is heated and is now no longer sealed. The dealer has ruined that by cutting into it. The fresh water tank is either not holding water or the sensors are malfunctioning. We expected and have been taking care of small issues like loose trim, dirty walls and nail holes but were shocked to find the issues above caused by the ******** location, especially after having wiring issues in the first unit that appeared to be caused by the dealership. I emailed the *** my salesperson and our contact at service. There has been no response from the *** Service contact was told not to give us helpful information and to advise us to bring it in (140+ miles rt) and my salesperson was awesome like always but not knowledgeable on these items.

We WILL NOT now or ever bring ANYTHING to ********** service location after these multiple issues on 2 rv's that were supposedly fixed. Horrible workmanship and lack of detailed troubleshooting appears to be normal for the location.

We need to know how to get the underbelly replaced and tank sensors corrected at a location that has staff better trained for this sort of thing.

I am rejecting this response because:

To date the refund has not been received. We have not received an estimate of what the refund would be only an email saying "This whole process can take up to 8 weeks before you will get your prorated refund". We want to know the prorated refund amount and that the policy was cancelled before the 1st year of coverage ended. Our whole experience in dealing with the company has been extremely bad.

Thank you for reaching out. Once again I apologize that you have had to do this. Unfortunately it does take some time. As we said over the phone, it will be ******* when the refund goes through. It's just a policy issue with the extended warranty company.

We purchased an $80,000 2022 ************ Sandpiper, right off the manufacturing line, from FunTown Rv in ******* on September 23rd, 2021. We walked the unit on the 23rd when we signed papers and it appeared to be in good working condition. In our first week of ownership we noticed a foul smell coming from the dresser drawers. Then we noticed some spots under the piping where the black tank drains. So, we made a list of some of issues. We called the warranty department for ************, Sandpiper, and we were advised to take it to the dealer, FunTown in *******. We requested the use of a mobile mechanic for repairs and were told by the warranty representative, *********************, that if we could find a service to complete the repairs and **** them then it would not be a problem. We paid a service fee for a mobile tech to evaluate our needed repairs. Labor, with manufacturer sourced parts, totals almost $13,******. This does not include the leaking shower or the clicking coming from leveling jacks! The roof is the bulk of the $13, ****** repair cost. We were assured our unit went through the manufacturer's PDI and that FunTown completed their own **** We called FunTown and they need to have our unit from 14 - 20 days to diagnose problems they should have diagnosed prior to our leaving the lot. Then once they receive parts, it could take several more weeks. The approved, certified ************ service provider within a reasonable distance does not have availability until next year! The roof, the kitchen line leak, and the black tank leak are not issues that can wait several months to fix. Based on our experience, FunTown did not do their due diligence with the **** We don't have months to wait for resolution while the ** department escalates the issue and the ************ warranty department gives us the run-around. An $80,****** RV should not leave the manufacturer or the retailer in need of thousands of dollars in repairs. I am happy to provide additional photos!

      Good Morning ************,

I have spoken to all the parties involved. First of all, I am sorry you are having issues with your trailer. After looking at all the data you submitted, we will need you to bring in your ** for diagnosis. There is just no way to get an exact diagnosis for parts and service out in the field. Our service manager said that he would push you to the front of the line. Please keep in mind that bringing it in does not mean that we would be able to fix at that time. It just depends on everything that is wrong with it. We will work to try to finish the job as soon as possible at that time depending on availability of parts, however, there is no way we can guarantee the time it will take until it is diagnosed by our team. As far as PDI goes, we do our due diligence in making sure that everything is in working order, however one trip out on the road can shuffle things out of square sometimes. These would more than likely all be warranty issues, so we would need to diagnose and fix the trailer in the shop to claim under warranty. If you are going through a third party it is out of our hands. Please call in and schedule a time to bring the ** into the shop.

      Thank you.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
The response implies a thorough pre-delivery inspection was completed prior to our ownership. I would like a copy of the pre-delivery inspection checklist completed by FunTown RV.
Additionally, even if they expedite the diagnosis, there is still the issue of how long they need our RV on-site to complete the diagnosis. Thus, supporting my original claim that the lack of a quality pre-delivery inspection is the cause of the inconvenience we are currently experiencing to remedy issues that should have been addressed prior to our ownership. The issues keep mounting!

      Regards,

Thank you ************ for the response. We have two different PDI's for each of our RV's. 1. They go through PDI once in our facility in *******, and a second time prior to sale.

I will repeat that it needs to be brought in for diagnosis. We can not determine what needs to be done until then. As far as timing, sometimes we need to take things apart before we can get to the root of the problem.

We can not give you an estimate unless we see it in our shop.

      Thank you.

      Complaint: 16145459

We are rejecting this response because it does not address the quality of the *** conducted at FunTown. We understand we are required to take our RV into the ************************** so that issues can be diagnosed. However, doing so only addresses the symptom of the premise of the original complaint. What about "why" these issues exist or "why" we as customers are experiencing these issues, especially after TWO ***s? What is in question here is the thoroughness of the *** conducted at FunTown before we signed papers and took delivery. If FunTown conducted a thorough ***, then providing us with a copy of the completed *** checklist should not be an issue. For the record, the financial implications of transporting the unit to FunTown to sit for an undisclosed number of days include: the cost to transport to/from FunTown at a minimum of $1,000.00 (trip 1-diagnosis, trip 2-back while we wait for parts, trip 3-back to FunTown for repair, and trip 4-back once repairs are complete) and the costs associated with the displacement of our family for the diagnosis and repairs (not less than one week). These are all expenses we would not have to incur had FunTown conducted a thorough ***.

      Regards,

Thank you ************ for the response.

Once we get the trailer in for diagnosis we should be able to determine what has caused the issues that you are describing.

Please give us a call at ************.
