I have been working with Flooring source in Friendswood to replace tile in my house to match existing wood that is down in a few other rooms. They came to my house measured the sq ft needed, provided me a quote in Oct 2021. Called this week to see if the quote was still good, said prices went up on wood, I said no problem send me over the updated quote. I authorized the work, called to pay them this week and they stated that they underbid the job and the price went up by $4800. Orginial quote was $16,572 and the new one provided to me on 3/11/2022, the one I approved was $17,043. When I called them to make payment on 3/14/2022, the price was now over $21,446. Completely shady. Stay away from them. Once they know you want to move forward they'll change their price.

When the original quote was given to the customer in October 2021 it was unfortunately incorrect. His salesperson did not include serval items such as quarter round, floor prep, wood glue, some install of these items as well a trip charge as Mr. Hicks is over an hour away from both of our locations. When Mr. Hicks called back in March for an updated quote our salesperson again did not look over his quote and just looked at the price of the material that had changed. He changed the product price and resent the quote. Mr. Hicks called back looking for his quote because he was unable to read his attachment our sales manager looked over the quote and realized all of the items missing adjusted the quote and resent the quote. Again at this time this is just a proposal of the job no commitment had been made by Mr. Hicks and no money had been exchanged and no agreements had been made. Mr. Hicks received that email and demanded that Mr. Mathews return a call ASAP. Mr. Mathews called him and asked serval questions as to maybe why those items could have been left off originally. Like was he planning on installing his own quarter round, did he possibly purchase his own glue. Mr. Hicks had none of these items, so in order to proceed with his job they needed to be included in the quote to properly do the job. We apologized and told Mr. Hicks that we would come remeasure since we didn't feel confident in what his salesperson had quoted him and as the owner would do our very best to make him happy. We at Flooring Source strive to provide our customers with a positive experience and work to achieve a compromise, however in this case this is obviously impossible as we cannot honor a quote that out the door we are in the red.
