I canceled my subscription via the Crunch Fitness website and called the location to confirm the cancellation in August 2023. Crunch continued to bill my bank account. I notified my bank and opened a claim. Stop payment was issued against Crunch Fitness after a review of my claim. I now receive calls stating that my account is still active and unless I show up in person they will continue to bill and then send to collections.I have not entered the gym since July or early August.I request that Crunch Fitness cancel my account and all billing efforts effective 08/2023 and stop harassing me about coming in and sending certified letters or any other form of monetary and/or time expense related to this issue.

I moved out of state earlier this month and reached out regarding cancelling my Membership. They notified me I needed to send in an official letter. No problem. Come to find out they have repeatedly charged me for training services I have not received multiple time to the tune of $312 dollars. Again, I moved out of state. I have attempted to contact their personal training department since they have no financial organization and they have absolutely ignored me at every turn. I have to elevate this to a claim just to have any hope that it stops. They will constantly change their name in order to push payments through. Disgusting organization and shady tactics. Do not sign up at any cost, they will scam you without your knowledge.Ive had to keep my account low in order to prevent further charges.

I decided to get personal training a week before I went on vacation by the time I came back the trainer I signed up with and trusted had changed her schedule and couldnt train within my schedule. I asked to cancel the personal training due to this and they refused. After talking to them five different times I was allowed to sign two different THREE DAY CANCELLATION forms. When my card got charged for over $1000 in personal training after this and I inquired why they told me corporate had refused my cancel but they never informed me of this only continued to charge my card for personal training of which I never used a session and would never after this situation. I called and was told I was still responsible for two months of payments and when I went in person I was told they would no longer charge me so I chargedback the payments and broke the *** chain so they couldnt pull anymore. My bank notified me they are still trying to pull from my account and when I called the ***** location they told me I am responsible for everything and refused to give me any corporate or customer service line because I can no longer trust them. I have gotten four different answers I would like to know why I have to pay a company who wont even let me speak to a higher up manager when the lower managers never give me the same answer.

I called to cancel a membership. They would not do so without an in person visit or a certified letter. I explained my situation and the manager, *********************, said he would send me to collections. What a horrible experience and business. I hope the business dies slowly and painfully.

My original gym UFC Fit closed and Crunch Fitness took over. They closed the location down for renovations and transferred everyone to a further location. I went up to crunch and froze my account until my original location opens up in a few months, and have a copy of my freeze form. They also acknowledged they have my freeze form. I was charged my monthly $22 and now my an annual fee $55 is pending to be charged now while my freeze is under effect and they acknowledged that via telephone that it should not have happened. I have called five times total in the span of one week and have been deferred each time and been told that a manager would call me to resolve the issue and it has not happened. I called again today on 9/7/ 2023 and I was told I am number 135 in the queue of people for corporate to get back to to help. This is absolute robbery. They told me that the system duplicated my account, which means it duplicated my payment information for them to keep charging me, even though I froze my account.

    Customer response

I previously held a membership with the Addison ******** of Crunch Fitness. I spoke to an employee at this ******** in person in the spring of 2021 requesting to cancel my membership as I was moving away. Several months later I began receiving calls from a debt collector regarding my Crunch Fitness Frisco account. I never signed up with this ******** but presumably my membership was transferred to them when the Addison ******** closed, despite my speaking with an employee at the Addison ******** to cancel it. I spoke to a representative with First ********************. (the debt collection agency), paid the balance in full and received a receipt via email dated January 12, 2023 showing it was paid in full. In March of 2023 I received calls and emails from ***********************, the general manager of the Frisco ********, stating that my account was in collections but would be cleared if I signed up for a new membership. I spoke to *** on the phone and informed him that I had paid it off in full in collections. I sent the receipt to him via email on March 3, 2023 and was told it would be escalated to the corporate office. I reached back out to check on the status on March 13, 2023 and never received any response. Today, July 23, 2023, I received a call from a different representative with Crunch Fitness, *****************************, informing me this account was still in collections. I have now sent the receipt from the collections agency to ****** with a verbal promise that it will be "added to my account" to show that it is paid in full. I fear that this issue will never be resolved as this business does not appear to have a reliable system to document member status, communicate with external agencies utilized for the purposes of collections, or provide timely information to consumers.

I have been being charged each month by this gym when I moved out of state and this gym is not near me at all. I was told I had to cancel in person, I told them I could not physically do so since I live so far. They said I have to mail in a letter, which I also cannot do, because this will take more money and the next closest post office is very far. from where I live. I also am in school full time and have a full time job, and have a kid. I just need to cancel my membership

For some reason we came to this location and decided to sign up for the gym membership on 03/03/23. It was my wife, brother in law and myself, they called us about a charge of membership monthly payments of $32 for each of us. We got the personal trainer that was $208 a month, without telling us how to cancel if we didn't want the service any longer or what procedures to take. Our recent charges were for $54.11x3 total of $162.33 that they took from our debit card, the said it was the annual fee. We decided to cancel the personal trainer and with that being said they still took money out from our bank for $208 in May 08 2023 because they said they forgot to put the cancellation notice in time. On May 15th instead of charging us $32 per person they charged us $49.71 per person which was a total of $146.89, when I went to go speak with them **** ignored us and by the way he looked at me and since my English isnt that well he ignored me and left. He didnt care to give me an explanation of the money and they still took $208 today May 25th. Each time I tried to get an explanation all the co workers gives us a different explanation, but by the way **** looked at me it was just enough for me to realize that he was a racist person with a mocking face. *** tried so many ways to cancel the payments with my bank but the gym still takes the money, I just want a refund of my money back, and for them to stop taking money from my account. I want to stay far away from this gym, their racist and thieves!!!!
