On 7/16/24 I brought items in to be sorted at Uptown Cheapskate in ******-owned by *****-and had selections that were NOT even looked at after ***** saw it was me (I had know ***** from a very horrible work experience which could have been an EEOC suit had I followed up with it. She is not someone to work for ethically speaking) apparently runs this business how she wants and doesn't abide by policy and expectations of the customer. The business is expected to sort through all items, inspect and offer money for any items accepted, if there are none that is fine but the items were completely untouched and not inspected as they are to do. Unacceptable, I feel targeted and feel these practices of favoritism or personal feelings presents problems for customers coming in then this location needs to be evaluated.

We do not have an *** that works for us and have not had an *** work for us in the past 4 years. I believe you have the wrong the location, we are the Uptown Cheapskate in ****** off ************, NOT Mockingbird Rd. That location is in ******. We are a franchise so that particular location is owned by another person. We are sorry this happened! Please remove this complaint from Uptown Cheapskate ****** as this does not pertain to our location.

    Thank you!

On Tuesday, March 21st, I went into Uptown Cheapskate to drop off 3 large trash bags of clothes and 1 large bag of shoes and boots. The employee had me sign in and asked if I wanted to drop off or wait. I told him I needed to drop off. He told me that I would get an email the next day when the quote was complete. That was the only information I received. I got the email (see attachment) Wednesday afternoon, March 22nd. It said I had 3 days to come pick up the clothes they didn't buy and my cash. I was not able to get there on Wednesday, so I went Thursday after work. When I asked for my clothes and shoes back the employee told me they had given them to charity. It had only been 1 day. After waiting for about 40 minutes, the manager came back and told me the owner said the email was wrong and I only had the same day to pick them up. I told them that was not ok and I needed some compensation for the clothes and shoes. There were approximately $2,000 worth of clothes and shoes in the bags. The owner made no effort to make it right. The employee gave me a generic email that said it would go to the owner. I emailed my concerns that day and they have gone unanswered.
