I took my car to this establishment for repairs. The mechanic **** would patch my car up, then state its ready to be picked up. My car had to be taken back several times for repairs, and each time **** always stated something new had to be fixed. The last time I took it back I explained to the owner what has been going on he offered to pay for all repairs at a different autoshop he referred to take it too. That repair shop stated I needed a new engine without any diagnostic test. Contacted owner of ********, and he stated it's nothing he can do further knowing his employee completely messed my car up.

The customer brought his vehicle in not starting and was told his turbo was blown. He had it towed to another shop to get the turbo replaced. The other shop replaced the turbo and couldn't get the car started so it was brought back to our shop. The work that we performed on the customer car had nothing to do with the engine. Therefore his engine failure is no fault of ours.

I am rejecting this response because:  That is not what happened. I initially brought my car in so I can get my Turbo changed. My car was sitting at your shop for days waiting on the Turbo part to come in. Your mechanic called me and told me someone stole the tools at your shop that is used for diesel cars, so I need to come get my car. He will not be able to fix it. I took my car to another auto shop that replaced my Turbo once the part came in. I brought it back to your shop so that I can get it to start. Your Mechanic stated that he will be able to get it to start which he did, however it wasn't running like it was supposed to & stopped starting a couple days after I picked my car up. I brought it back to your shop. He made it seem as though it was an easy fix. He stated no worries, I will figure out the problem. So he called me a couple of days later stated that I need to buy a certain part. The part was purchased. Picked my car up, Came back a cup of days later with my car, because it was worse than ever. My car was leaking diesel, smoking, and wouldn't go over 20 miles per hour. This has been headache at this point. Going back and forth with your shop. Then the mechanic tells me I need a new battery. Bought a new battery. Put it in my car and once again it did not start to get back up to your shop. He did whatever he did to. I came back and picked it up. And my car is not been working the same ever since. Then I spoke with the owner and he told me to take it to a shop that he will pay for the repairs. Took it up to the other shop a day later. The shop stated engine needs to be replaced, without giving me an actual diagnostic test printout. Owner of the shop I had been going to then told me that he's not going to pay for the repairs. I went to pick up my car.

The car set at our shop because the customer wanted to buy the parts online. We did not charge the customer our usual storage fee. Technician told the customer that we did not have the tool to change out the turbo customer took his car to another shop. Technician only did the valve covers gasket that it. You told ************** that the car was bought at an auction. They told you the turbo was blown. You still drove the car with a broken turbo. When you pick the car up from our shop, you were told that the vehicle was not ready. You did come back 10 minutes later and the mechanic reset the computer again. The owner recommend you take it to another shop and would pay for the repairs only if the problem was something that ************** did causing your vehicle not to run. That Shop diagnosed in tunnel engine problem which had nothing to do with what ************** repaired to your vehicle.

Feb. 3, 2023 I went to Kwik Kar for an oil change. I was told by the mgr (an *************************) I had a bad leak and needed a new radiator so they replaced it. I noticed my car shaking right after but thought it needed an alignment but it got worse. I noticed on May 2, 2023 my car leaking fluid. I attempted to drive but it befan to overheat so I pulled AAA tow it to my mechanic. My mechanic told me the radiator was not put in correctly &was never secured in the brackets &was bouncing around so bad it began to leak from the top &needed to be replaced & replace the fan it wore out trying to keep the car cool. I called Kwik Kar and they looked me up found my info & told me I would have to speak to the mgr. I informed him I would be there in the AM. I went to Kwik *** today explained to the mgr the situation he said he could only fix it if he was able to look at the car &determine if he was liable. I told him Id have to tow my car and he couldnt guarantee to me that he could fix it. I asked if the part was warranted he told me he couldnt tell me that unless I showed him a picture of my vin and registration on my car. I asked him why he could not just look in his database as his employee did the day before and refused. I went outside and made a phone call (I wasnt leaving) and 5 minutes later the mgr appeared with a piece of paper with my name on it (I never gave him my name) stated the part was warranted & if I brought him the old radiator he would give me a new one. I did just that but then the mgr told me the replacement is not warranted. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. But Ive come to expect that at most businesses. But what I need to know is why I do not deserve to have warranted to part for a problem I did not cause. Perhaps because I allowed someone more qualified to install it. I would like some monetary retribution for the damage caused to my vehicle (new fan) I also should not have to absorb the cost of labor either.

A business by the name of Kwik Kar Lube and Tune performed certain repairs that were not needed. They removed a compressor that did not need to be replaced and added another compressor that was an aftermarket part. It wasn't the quality part that the dealership uses, and they refused to give me the old compressor unless I paid additional fees of around $48. Therefore, denying me the opportunity to have the dealership inspect it because it didn't need to be replaced. They also did not fix the repairs that I paid them for, but rather caused damage and made the mechanical issue worse. They did not fix the AC but instead flooded the system by overfilling the AC Refrigerant Oil, which resulted in excessive stress on the cooling fan which caused a module to fail, and the service port caps were not returned to their respective place. At this point they wanted to charge even more because they wanted to try and now replace the fan. The vehicle also begun to overheat which damages the engine. They performed repairs that were not needed such as replacing the compressor and adding an aftermarket compressor of lesser quality than the one that was added by the manufacture. And they caused damage in their attempt to correct the issue that needed to be fixed. You will find attached is the statement from the dealership outlining what they found and the necessary corrections to fix the problem. I had to pay for a second time to have the repairs fixed and the new damage fixed caused by Kwik Kar Lube and Tune.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/12/13) */ Customer came in and said he wanted his AC compressor replaced. Our tech quoted him $115 for an AC diagnostic. Customer declined the diagnostic service. So the tech replaced the AC compressor per the customer request. Our Robinair AC machine will not allow the refrigerant to overfill the system. Tech found other issues with the vehicle, engine fan damage and recommend replacement to the customer. Customer denied further repairs and said that he was going to take his vehicle to the dealership. Customer did request the old compressor, but we needed it to return for the core charge which was $48.00 the customer did not want to pay for it. The new compressor failed due to over pressure from lack of heat exchange by the bad fan. Customer declined a full MVAC (Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning) diagnostic. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/12/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The response from Kwik Kar Lube and Tune is completely false. I took the vehicle to them because the AC was not working, I did not know what the problem was, therefore their claim that I immediately stated I wanted my compressor replaced it false. Their claim that I declined a diagnostic is also completely false, I never declined a diagnostic. Anyone knows that when there's a mechanical issue with your car, they will always perform a diagnostic test to determine what the issue is. And they will put the fee towards the cost of repairs. After they performed the diagnostic, they told me that the vehicle needed a compressor, in which case we proceeded forward with the repairs. Only to later discover that they replaced the compressor with a compressor of lesser quality, and it was an aftermarket compressor. The mechanical issue still was not fixed after their diagnostic test and their determining the issue as being the compressor. The claim that their AC machine will not let them overfill is also false, during my visit there, they called me into the shop and told me that they tried filling the system twice and the vehicle was still not working properly. It was at this point that they stated, I should have the fan replaced. I no longer trusted their judgement and stated to them that I would just take the vehicle to the dealership and have them to take a look at the vehicle instead. After leaving Kwik Kar Lube and Tune, the vehicle was overheating badly which caused me to have to pull over. I then took the car to KIA where a licensed mechanic who specializes in this particular vehicle from the manufacture's standpoint, performed another diagnostic. He found the system had been overcharged with fluid which caused some damage. And the dealership also discovered that the compressor was an aftermarket compressor. The mechanic at the dealership then made all necessary repairs to correct the damage caused by Kwik Kar Lube and Tune and replaced all parts needing to be replaced, therefore, fixing the AC and overheating issue. The dealership asked me who attempted to do work on the AC system, and I told them it was Kwik Kar Lube and Tune. The mechanic at KIA made a thorough notation of his findings and added it to the receipt for records.
