While traveling my vehicle experienced a failed engine. I found a ATK longblock at jegs.com and purchased it via debit card on 6/29/22. Order #XXXXXXXXXXXX stated will ship as soon as tomorrow. It is now 7/8/22 and I have not received any tracking info or engine. I bought this with a understanding it would ship as advertised because I am broke down awaiting a engine and trying to make finicinal based decision with hotel room expenses, car rental expenses etc. At this point I would have scrapped the van and bought another one. I was told on 7/5 the engine would ship on 7/6. I called again on 7/7 and was told the engine will ship on 7/8. I called on 7/8 and was told it shipped on 7/6. I was also told ATK is being on sending shipping nfo to vendors.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/11) */ Hello ***, unfortunately we are not JEGS and we are not in control of the ETA's listed on any customers website. I do know that hey haven't listed anything in stock since before Covid as that turned our industry upside down even moreso now. The only time they may have something showing ship within 24 hours is if they actually had inventory on it in which again has nothing to do with us. I suggest you contact JEGS so they can reach out for an accurate ETA. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/07/12) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) ATK is the company jegs customer service contacts each time I call. Yes jegs did show in stock when I purchased it. I also called to verify the website listing and they agreed it was in stock. ATK is the company providing inaccurate shipping info and with me beleiving the info I incurred additional expenses. The person that answered the complaint has now proven that they are still providing inappropriate information by stating jegs has not listed anything in stock since covid. And why did atk show multiple ship dates since July 5 when it never shipped?

I ordered a Ford 232 crate engine from this company and have since been attempting to contact them in regards for a core return pickup for over a month and a half (from the end of March 2022 to now, May 2022). I have filled out a core pickup claim on ATK's website and was contacted by a gentleman named Benjamin Deweerd asking to call another number that is ATK's customer service line, I suppose. There are no hours business hours mentioned; no matter what time of day, no one answers the phone. I have left multiple messages with my name, return number and issue and I have yet to receive any response from ATK. I have also attempted to email Mr. Deweerd once more but he too does not respond. Calling the business number listed here on BBB sends me straight to a Verizon message saying the call cannot be completed. No one in this entire company seems to be reachable. There was also no specified date or timeframe in which the core needed to be returned or at least not one that was specified to the customer upon purchase.

Purchased a 460 short block on 5/5/2021 using PayPal as payment method. After no delivery and refusal to give me an ETA on shipping by October 2021 I decided to attempt to cancel the order and they refused to return my emails or phone calls. December 11 2021 my work building was destroyed in a tornado so I again attempted to cancel the order and get a refund because there was no longer an address to ship the engine to even if they had finally shipped it. After two months of emails, I was informed 1/18/2022 that a refund check was being issued. No refund check arrived and my subsequent email on 2/20/2022 went unanswered again and still no refund on an engine I never received. I have the emails to prove this claim

I purchased a HP93 ATK engine direct from ATK's website. The engine was advertised as "usually in stock". I used PayPal to pay for the purchase and ATK immediately took the funds from PayPal. I called customer service to get an eta on the delivery of the engine. I was told that they were waiting for parts to build the engine and it would be a week delay. 3 weeks later and multiple calls to customer service, they were no closer to shipping the engine, meanwhile they were paid in full. They cancelled my order. I have been calling for the past week trying to get my money refunded and I have been transferred to multiple people in a large organization that tell me everything from there is no record of my order, to they have no record of the PayPal payment. I have confirmation from PayPal that the payment was made to ATK North America. It seems that there is an internal scandal at ATK to keep $4274.30 of my money after they cancelled my order. They should have not got payed from PayPal until they shipped the engine and I would not be experiencing this anxiety. Immediate refund is the only resolution to this.

I purchased an ATK Engine from Summit Racing on November 9, 2020. There are currently ~200 miles on the engine. There are issues with the crankshaft causing it to rub on the rear main carrier housing creating noise. The are also issues with the valve train, which caused a bent pushrod, that are manufacturing errors. ATK has asked us to do modify retaining tabs on the rear main carrier. This is not an acceptable solution. ATK also claims that the pushrod was damaged in transportation of the engine to Texas for the warranty assessment. These ludicrous claims are an insult to the mechanics diagnosing the problem, and a clear admission of an unwillingness to admit they produced a defective engine. ATK should replace this engine, and pay for all repairs. They should also not be allowed to advertise a warranty, only to make outlandish and falsified claims when their products return for warranty repair.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/02) */ Hello ******, we apologize for the inconvenience you're having with your engine. After reviewing the claim, the pictures we have on file here and at our factory and speaking with the tech there are a few things here. 1. We test all these engines before they leave our facility, if there was a bent pushrod when it left we would have caught it as we would have heard a loud clatter on the SIM machine. We take pictures of the assembly as well as have video proof of the test showing the tester inspecting the valve train while the engine is running as well as using a stethoscope to listen for noises under the valve cover to verify all is well. Another fact, your shop said the engine ran flawlessly with no noises other than the squeaking coming from the rear of the crank. This proves the bent pushrod is no fault of ATK. 2. The way the shop shipped your engine back to ATK was absolute negligence and baffling. They strapped a 400+lb engine lying flat on a pallet with what looked like a seat belt and it was laying on its side with the seat belt sitting on top of the valve train.... guess what happens when a 400+lb engine shifts around from poor crating, not being stabilized and a seat belt sitting on the valve train/rocker/pushrods.....it bends them. Look at the pictures attached, this is just baffling how someone would think this is acceptable. 3. In regards to the original problem, the squeaking. ATK approved the repair per our warranty terms and is in the process of reimbursing you for the repairs. Your shop missed what our tech told him to do and did not repair the rear housing correctly. We suggested modifying the tabs, this is the easiest guarantee of fixing the issue, the other is to perfectly align the housing and seal which was not done or it would not squeak again. This is a GM design and unfortunately it happens. Even though we are paying for this repair per our warranty terms, it's on the shop to cover his repair which he did not properly do or he should not get paid. We are not going to pay him again for something he did not fix. You need to take this back up with your shop. At this point, ATK has honored the warranty claim and no further assistance will be offered. For you to blame a bent pushrod on ATK knowing the engines valve train never had any issues whatsoever from the start is absurd. Please see the attached pictures on how your shop shipped the engine to us and how the strap rides on the valve train. We did not ship the engine like this, they are secured to a custom base and strapped down on all 4 corners sitting straight up so something like this does not happen. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/12/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Let's forget about the pushrod and how I was not informed about it when you tore down the motor. I also had no idea the condition these folks shipped you the motor, first I'm hearing of it. Very poor communication on ATK's behalf. Let's focus on the important problem here. ATK is claiming they told us to modify the rear main carrier from day one. That is a complete falsehood. They told us to install a new one and align it properly. It was only after we needed to send the engine in for warranty after this did not resolve the issue that they instructed us to break off the tabs. Now ATK can claim we didn't do what they instructed, deny the warranty, and send me a disassembled engine. A likely reason the dowel pin on the rear main carrier doesn't align properly is because this block had the crankshaft tunnel bore aligned. It's known by engine builders that this procedure can cause the dowel pin to not seat in the correct position to align the carrier. Guess who built this engine? ATK. There are two solutions to this. Grind off the retaining tabs, or modify its sleeve on the carrier. ATK is ethically responsible for the removal and installation costs of this motor. Selling a customer a motor that has a design flaw that is difficult and or impossible to account for at the factory is forgivable. However, lying about what they've communicated to me, and in what order, to avoid paying for the issue, is not. To add, now the warranty is void because they send me back a disassembled engine. Let's say I'm incorrect. Maybe the clearance on the rear main carrier is incorrect due to a more concerning problem. That would also fully explain ATK's deceptive behavior. They lie about what they told us to do. Then they don't repair what we discussed was the problem when they have the motor in their shop, and again, send me a disassembled engine. Now, when that more concerning problem presents itself down the road, they're no longer responsible. My entire stream of communications with ATK has been lies and deceit, and of course I'd expect nothing less here.

I purchased an engine through Jegs that had a severe oil leak. I was informed by Jegs that the warranty was handled by the engine manufacturer, ATK High Performance Engines. I filed a claim with ATK - WCXXXXX and provided photos of the leak. I was given authorization to have the repairs made by the engine installers. I was NOT given a copy of the warranty. After the repairs were made, I sent a copy of the invoice so that I could be reimbursed. $793.24. I was reimbursed $403. ATK is claiming they only pay $50/hr for labor on repairs and that labor is capped at $350.00. First, this should have been explained to me prior to having me pay to have the repairs made. Second, no professional mechanic will work for $50/hr. Third, ATK will not allow repairs to be made by anyone other than a licensed repair shop. Had I known any of this I would have agreed. Now, the engine has another leak (WCXXXXX) and ATK is insisting that I follow this same procedure, where the repairs are my responsibility. I have been cheated once and refuse to do this again. This is an $8,000.00 purchase. The responsibility to repair their sloppy workmanship is on them. They need to repair this engine and reimburse me for the remaining $390

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/11/24) */ Good morning *****, we apologize for the inconvenience. The warranty is on our website for all to see and should be on JEGS site as well. We honored our warranty per our terms without pictures and took your word for it. ATK did not cheat you out of anything, again if you read the warranty we covered per our terms. Now if you had the leak repaired and the repair did NOT fix your leak, your shop would need to address that as they should have covered the repair. We do not install the oil pan or intake and the only place for this to leak with those components out of the picture would be the rear seal/cover which your shop repaired and would be liable for after you paid him to repair it. If you can furnish us the proof of the original leak from the rear seal, we will cover the extra portion of the bill for you. If its leaking from this same area, we would not warrant this, your shop who made the repair would. Shoot Eric the proof of the leak and we can move forward from there. Anyone can make the repair so you are stating false information, but we will only reimburse $ for the repair being done by an ASE certified shop. Eric has asked you about the 2nd leak twice and you have not taken it to a shop nor have you told us where its coming from. Its not up for us to tell you where to take it to, unfortunately its impossible for us to know who's in your area. Like you were informed, take it to a shop to diagnose the leak, take pictures with proof of the leak and submit to Eric for further assistance.
