1 starI purchased a ***** 383 stroker performance crate engine from *** through Summit back in December 2023. The engine comes with a two-year warranty. I put the engine in a daily driver 1994 ***** Blazer. I followed their break-in directions and all other instructions strictly to the ** The engine ran great up until the end of May this year (2024) until it just suddenly stopped running. It gave no signs of trouble prior to quitting and not restarting. I got it towed back home. Began troubleshooting, only to find that it was an internal issue. Spun bearings and valves locking up. Trapping fuel in the left head for cylinders 1,3,5, & 7. Fuel then seeped down into the oil pan and contaminated the oil. I called and informed them of this. Their warranty agent had gotten on the defensive with me and became quite unprofessional with me over the phone. I corrected him for not listening to me. He then agreed to have the engine picked up so they can look at it. It got picked up on 18 Nov. 2024. They disassembled it, determined that it was a catastrophic internal failure. Bagged up the parts, tossed them into the valley between the heads, crated the engine up, and sent it back to me in an incomplete T-total mess. No communication on their behalf at all. The engine was not torqued together correctly at all. The engine build has *** fingerprints all over it and they ARE NOT accepting responsibility for it at all. I am stuck with a failed engine that I won't be able to save many parts from it. I am hoping with this review amongst the others before me that the BBB can do something about this in order to keep *** from further poor business practices and be held accountable for their wrongdoing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH ***. Unprofessional and incompetent.Review fromshane m

1 starpurchased a 4.0l **** ranger long block. It showed up with a lot of crate damage. can't return the core. the gaskets that came with it were ruined. the oil pump was taped to the side of the engine. it was destroyed. called jegs and after 9 tries i got a human that spoke broken ********** was relayed to me that i would have to contact ATK engines.. awsome! called a few times and sent some e- mails no response. i need the vehicle eventually so i purchased the $180.00 gasket set and the $250.00 oil pump. while still trying to contact them i got the engine installed and started it. it had a very loud tick multiple lifters not working. finally get ahold of *** they say i need the serial number off the engine. the serial # is plastic sticker somewhere on the engine? there is no plastic sticker anywhere on my oil covered engine. so they sent me to someone else who didn't answer. a few days later i get someone on the phone and they say they wont warranty anything that i have done. it needs approval so i asked how do you get approval when they are unreachable. they didn't care. i am pulling the heads now so i can replace the lifters. $480.00 for lifters $60.00 head bolts $200.00 gasket kit. think twice think three times think four times before you do any business with this company. i am still finding problems and missing parts on this engine. GOOD LUCK!!Review fromTimothy S

1 starPurchased a high performance engine and paid almost $4,000 through JEGS. Had the engine professionally installed and ran into in issue immediately with it overheating. Attempted to call JEGS for weeks and was unable to get through. Found coolant in cylinder 5 while doing a diagnostic. so I Contacted ATK direct and inquired as to what to do. The technician advised to conduct a few tests and insisted that there could be nothing wrong with the engine itself. After conducting the tests and calling them back a few weeks later, I was told that my warranty was expired (at the time of the initial call it was approx. 1 week past) and they could care less that it was just installed. Incredibly rude customer service.Review fromshawn r

1 starAbsolutely the worst place to deal with for rebuilt engines!!!! I have had HORRIBLE experience dealing with these idiots!!!! The Canadian west reps are complete A holes and are totally useless self absorbed ignorant people to deal with!!!! I have seen 5.4l **** engines with two different years of cylinder heads requiring return and was only realized after install when the spark plugs only fit one head.......I have seen engines blow up within weeks of install and witnessed the fight to get proper warranty....I have witnessed engines using oil and ATK push doing anything until warranty period was over and then refusing warranty....JUST DONT DO IT!!!! LAST PLACE ON EARTH YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH!!!!!Review fromGreg N

1 starPaid $6,000 plus for a "performance" engine and had it installed by a very good shop. Upon start up the engine had a significant leak from the rear main seal. Shop pulled it out, redid the main seal and reinstalled. *** paid about a third of the cost of the work (they say they only pay $50 an hour shop rate, where in the US is there any shop that charges that?). Upon reinstall the engine began leaking again, this time from cross threaded oil galley bolts. After pulling the engine again and, fixing the problem and reinstalling the engine is (for the moment running fine and not leaking). This was almost a pure labor invoice, no parts to speak of and ATK again paid about a third of the cost. I called and asked for some consideration because of the terrible assembly job they did and their answer was essentially too bad. I am out about an additional **** dollars because of this. Terrible company, terrible service.Review fromAF A

1 starIf I was going to do it again, I would have rebuilt a junk yard motor myself. While they used nice parts, and it presents really nicely, I received the motor with a flake of metal on the hydraulic roller. I called the warranty team, and they were unwilling to ship it back and told me to blow it out with compressed air and run it then if it blows up, they would take it back and send a new one. This being hearsay, I wrote an email to confirm the engine would be warrantied. When I got the email back the representative went back on their statement and it wasn't as certain they would follow through on this promise if necessary. I preceded to inspect the motor further and noticed the engine wasn't turning over easily. I took the main caps off and they were fine, but the rod caps were so tight I stripped one bolt, and many bearings have fingernail deep scratches. I do not have any intentions on working with ATK any further.Review fromPhillip W

1 starThe engines are made from the cheapest parts available to man. **************** will not return calls. If you want to claim anything on your warranty I advise hiring a lawyer but then that's the same price as the engine. ATK is smart. Crooks and liars but smart they are. 20k miles on the motor and it smokes, ticks, knocks and leaks oil.
