I spent about $312 on a tuxedo rental for an event recently. This is not the main point of this review, but as a side note the quality of the tuxedo was laughable. Anyway, I went to return my tuxedo rental and after waiting several minutes at the counter an employee rushed out of the back and told me to drop my tux off at the rack, not bothering to ask if I had any other questions, etc. So I did. Then a day later, I get a text from Jos A Bank saying that if I don’t return my tux I will be charged late fees. So begins the saga with Jos A Bank customer service. I could go on forever, but essentially I have now called them 5 times, totaling call times of about an hour and 21 minutes. I still have yet to have anyone from the company reach out and say that something has been figured out/taken care of. Every person I speak to says they are pretty sure things will get worked out and that they will call me back shortly after getting to the bottom of it. Well it’s been two weeks now and nobody has gotten back to me and every time I want to check on the status of the issue I have to wait on hold for 5 minutes and then wait another 5-10 minutes explaining the issue and being connected to someone relevant. For $312 I expected a half decent suit and a seamless process. I instead looked like a buffoon on an important day and have wasted my valuable time chasing around these “customer service representatives” to give me some sort of answer. Avoid this company at all costs. There are better tux/suit options that you can BUY for a lower price and if you want to rent go with a reputable company like ****** **** or an online service like ********** *** (my experience with both were dramatically better). I cannot advise strongly enough against Jos A Bank - I will truly never buy another product from them.Review from Eric M

This evening (12/5/22) I spent $291.19 at the Jos. A. Bank store at 10000 Research Blvd Ste 127 in Austin, Texas. My son and I were in the store for nearly an hour. We were not greeted when we entered the store nor did any of the four sales staff offer to assist us as we shopped and tried on clothes. A female representative said, "Excuse me," as she was passing with a large bag, but she and the other representatives conversed with each other rather than attend to us. I assumed this was just poor service until another customer came into the store a few minutes before we checked out. He was immediately greeted by a representative and asked if he needed assistance. I listened as he indicated he only needed to find a "plain white shirt." The representative who greeted the customer directed him to another representative who was working near the dress shirts. To my surprise, the customer was being measured for a shirt within 2 minutes. The only difference between my son and I and the other customer was our ethnicity. We are African American. He was not. I am disappointed at the lack of service and mistreatment by the Jos. A. Bank employees and will never return.Review from Robert G

Is it a requirement that salespeople at men's "fashion" stores be smug snot nosed children with no customer service skills? Rhetorical of course. Im at a time in my life where I should probably own a tux. Son is a big fan of Jos. so I thought I would give them a try. Timeline didn't permit purchase this time so decided to rent and then maybe buy based on my experience. Jos. aint gonna happen. "Customer Service" at time of rental was lacking. I was hoping for some guidance and insight because the majority of my formal wear for the last 40 years has been dictated by the government. Delivery was timely and it about the only positive I have. It all went downhill from there. 1. Called to get info about order status and the "salesperson" on the phone sounded distracted and was unhelpful. I called back to clarify some of the info and when the stated he messed up last time because he was helping another customer. Sooo.... u failed to provide proper customer service to the person in front of you so you could fail to provide customer service to the person on the phone? (Rhetorical) 2. When trying on the tux the "salesperson" leaning up against the wall watching noticed I was struggling to clip the bow tie..."How is it" He asked, not offering any assistance w the tie. 3. I replied that there was a fair amount of creasing and seam puckering and asked if it was normal. He had no idea what I was referring to, alerting me to his complete lack of experience in fabric and men's fashion. It's one thing to be inexperienced. We all start somewhere, but dump the air of importance about yourself if you truely do not know what you are doing other than running a cash register and answering phones. When I pointed out to him what I was referring to he stated "That would be a manufactur/distributer problem". No young Jedi that is a YOU problem because YOU are the one I am paying. I purchased 3 suits, 5 pants, 4 shirts, some socks and ties from this company less than 3 years ago. After only about 3 years the pants all have ripped and the shoes are falling apart even when trying to take great care of them. It's easy to see how the pants are ripping since they are obviously made with subpar material. There is no reason any pants or shoes from any company should be falling apart after only 3 years. I gave a star back because the shirts, suits, and socks are still in decent condition.Review from Eric R

On July 1, 2022 I placed an order for several shirts with this company. My transaction was proceeding smoothly, all of the items were listed as "In Stock" and available for immediate delivery. I was given a tracking number and advised that I could expect my goods by July 6th. When that day came and went, I checked the tracking number to see if there were some "unexpected delays" that had occurred. These things happen more frequently nowadays. All I was given that my order was "On Its Way" and arriving on time. Several days went by and I reached out to the company for some answers. An employee contacted me via email and informed me that there was some type of "Mistake" and the order was never really filled or processed. I stated to her that I fully understood, and as long as the items I ordered were in still in stock, I would appreciate it if she could process my order immediately and ship right away. Well that apparently is too much to ask for. I was quickly informed in another auto generated email that my order was cancelled and a refund would be given instead. Who does business this way?? I waited for a week after the expected delivery date and the company acts like they are the ones being inconvenienced.Review from Daniel E

Ordered shoes for a wedding. It said they would come in 6 days. Great! I get an email 2 days later saying the shoes have shipped. Great! 74 hours later, I contact the company and it turns out that nothing has yet shipped and the shoes are still at the store. It will be 3-5 business days once they ship. Still no clarity on when they will come. Minimum of 9 days from when ordered. They will not be here for the wedding. Why tell me that they have shipped if they have not? Why say they will be here by day 6. Very disappointing. Only option from company is a refund.Review from Henri F

Purchased 4 shirts, 16/34. like I have done in the past. These shirts were made in another country and were sized completely different than the previous shirts. Arms too long, material felt different. My biggest concern was the length of the arms so I ordered 16/33. those fit worse, just were not right. I decided to keep the longer sleeve shirts and put buttons on, that I purchased from Joannes. I called to get permission to send back the 16/33 and was told I would get a shipping label, which never arrived in mail or e-mail. I called today (two weeks later) now they tell me I have to call the individual stores in which these shirts had been sent from. I ordered these shirt on-line, now I have to call the individual stores to get permission to send the shirts back??? This is terrible customer service, so now I have four shirts that are useless to me. I will never buy on-line from this store again, and hopefully never get in a bind to have to purchase any merchandise from Jos A Banks anywhere in the country. I would like to send the shirts back without having to get permission from each store that sent me the merchandise. You guys can do better than this.Review from Brian M

I decided to use Jos A Banks as the company for my groomsman to rent their suits for my wedding. All 8 of my groomsman went into the physical store for their fittings and measurements as told to do so. I was first told that they could all pick up their suits on June 30th (my wedding was July 3rd) but two of my groomsman were told by the location they went to that their suits would not be ready until July 1st. Those 2 groomsman when they went home, the next day they tried on their suits and both of them had suits that were entirely too large for their bodies, and not by just a little bit. Both of their pant legs and arm sleeves were about 8 inches longer than they should have been, they both looked like 10 year olds wearing their fathers’ suit. So on the day of my wedding, 2 of my groomsman had to go to Jos A Banks in the morning to fix the problem. The employees there said there was nothing they could do for them to replace their items, but that they could hem the jacket and pants to at least be a better length. In the end, their suits still looked way too big but we had no choice but to go with it. One of the employees rudely told one of my groomsman that they should have come in a week earlier for a final fitting, but they were both told that their suits were not ready until 2 days before my wedding, on top of Jos A Banks already having their measurements and should have gotten it right the first time. It was horrible and stressful. On top of this, one of my other groomsman went to pick up his suit on the day he was told to get it, only to find out that Jos A Banks had given his suit to someone else who lives in a totally different state. How this happened, I do not know. He then had to have a rush put on his suit and did not get it until right before the wedding, almost not being able to wear what all the other groomsman were wearing. For the amount of money my groomsman spent on their suits and the AMPLE amount of time Jos A Banks had to get things right, they failed me big time, which is a shame because I have been a loyal customer with them for years, buying all kinds of dress wear for work and other events from them. I question whether I will ever want to be a customer of theirs ever again after how they handled my wedding.
