FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!We received an email Dated 3/13/2025 to renew our electric plan:"You can renew early and lock in your energy rate at 10.8 per kWh compared to your expiring energy price of 12.7 per kWh SPECIAL EARLY RENEWAL OFFER"when I called to renew I was told the offer was no longer available, as of 3:00p.m. ******** EMAIL READS: To take advantage of this special offer, you will need to renew by March 31, 2025. This offer is NOT a contract expiration notice.Champion Energy Services

Was paying 6.8c per kWh, then all of the sudden my rate went up to over .25c per kWh. At the same time they were offering a rate of a little under 11c. Horrible business practices. So I had a $506.74 bill then a $960.67 bill. This was during the cold snap. My house is 924 sqftChampion Energy Services

It's possible your fixed rate contract expired, and you are on the month-to-month variable rate plan. Use referral ID *********** when enrolling and get a $50 credit to your bill! We have been very satisfied with our plan. We like how we can see our usage summary on a weekly basis. 1 starI've read customers reviews with ratings, mostly in 1 star. Average rating is 1.57, to me it looks too high. My account had three disconnection notices no matter I never was late in my payments prior to due date. My first check was deposited by Champion in one month time. Send them second check that was deposited in 10 days. My home is just 30 miles from ther POB. Having my double payments for Champion services I had three disconnection notices as very rude harrasment. No apology, no refund of my overpayment, no information on account situation until I asked about several times. Very bad sevice. This situation with lost checks and harrasing disconnection threats I experience second time.Review fromPatricia S

1 starBEWARE! This company is very shady and fraudulent. Keep an extremely close eye on your bill and contract. They will take you for everything you have. They lie about the market rate. Look at all of there horrible reviews. They offer higher rates and exurbanite fees. BEWARE! If you cancel they will get you. Look at your price to compares, prove that they are lying. A few dollars different is one thing over $125-$220 additional per month is EXTREMELY excessive. Requested a refund and was told they don't do refunds but they can put you under a new contract with them. I also told them to cancel immediately and was told it would be 1-2 billing cycles. I specifically stated that I will NOT pay another dime to their company after this billing period ends.Review fromEric G

1 starNot only did I get BACK TO BACK 600 DOLLAR electricity bills from chumpion after a NATURAL DESASTER!!!???!!! The first one they rudely said that they just stopped helping people and took me for all I had!!! ROBBERY WITH OUT A GUN!!! LEFT ME IN A VERY BAD POSITION!!! WHEN PRIOR I HAD BEEN PAYING 1 TO 2OO AT MOST SO THREE TIMES AS MUCH!!! SMH!!! I RECIVED A PHONE CALL AFTER WRIGHT A REVIEW AND THE LADY ON THE PHONE SAYS SHE IS SORRY HOW THE SITUATION WAS HANDLED AND THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN HANDLED BETTER AND THAT THEY WOULD HELP UP TO HALF OF MY NEXT STATMENT!?!?! BUT WHEN THE NEXT STATMENT COME JUST LIKE THE FIRST THAT COVERSATION NEVER HAPPEN JUST A BUNCH OF SOMKE AND MIRRORS AND ANOTHER 600 DOLLAR BILL!!!??? I AM TRYING TO COMPLY AND GET THIS OVER WITH BUT I DEFINITELY AM TRYING TO FIND A COMPANY I CAN TRUST!!! I have found this company's practices to be highly questionable and deceptive. Not only do they provide inaccurate billing, but they also repeatedly attribute all fees to Oncore and a "delivery" charge. Despite rarely being home and keeping the AC set at 73 degrees when I am home, my bill continues to increase. They advertise "free weekends," and I avoid using appliances like the washer until after 8 pm, yet the costs do not reflect these supposed savings. To terminate the service, the company requires a $250 fee, which seems like a way to unjustly profit from customers. Within just one month, I have paid $400 for a one-bedroom apartment, which is outrageous. Furthermore, their customer service representatives are not helpful and seem to provide misleading information. The company appears focused solely on making money at the expense of its customers. They provide "weekly" reports that are supposedly based on projections, only to significantly inflate the final bill. Even when my account is current, they continue to add additional fees. To verify their practices, I installed a camera facing the thermostat to prove that no one was home and that the AC was not in use, yet my bill still came to $143. I have tracked their reports closely, and whenever there is a slight increase in temperature, they dramatically increase the bill, even when I take steps to minimize usage, such as turning off the AC and using fans. I strongly advise against using this company due to their poor customer service and questionable billing practices.Champion Energy Services

Thanks for sharing about your experience. Please keep in mind that the number one driver of electricity usage is air conditioning. Even in an empty house, outdoor temperatures impact your overall costs because it can cause the AC to work harder and kick on more frequently to remove humidity and cool the air. You may not be changing the thermostat inside but if the outdoor temps are higher the AC works harder to maintain the cooler indoor temps, which would increase your usage. The data reported in the weekly Smart Track emails is from Smart Meter Texas (SMT). Predatory practices and advertising to make you think that you are getting a good deal. The cancelation fee was $300 and I had to pay a hefty amount every month WITH SOLAR PANELS. Do not fall for it. Go to another company that is upfront and actually gives you fair payment for solar power.Champion Energy Services

Courtney, sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with the index wholesale solar buyback program Champion Energy offers. Our solar buyback is offered on any of our electricity plans and unlike other retail electricity providers we do not charge a higher energy rate, a monthly fee, or limit the buyback to the amount you consume. Your electricity contract was through 2/22/2026. When you terminated the service early you were charged a $250 early termination fee, which is not unique to Champion. We hope the new provider you selected is a better fit for you. Never the less, I just want to say that during this sign-up period, the Champion reps have gone over and above to get me the best deal possible. I am completely satisfied at this point. They use fraudulent and predatory practices to get customers to sign up. The representative literally lied to get me to sign up. They attract people in stores by giving them gift cards and not telling people they are signing a long term contract with high cancellation fees. They gave me no paperwork when I signed up it was done through a tablet. Then they sent a recording of a call that was not the complete call but clearly edited.
