      Took the electricity connection to our new house from RHYTHM Energy. some reason the initial bill was too high, somehow *********** identify the meter was not functioning , and they replaced it. So questioned Rhythm Energy on the first bill $250 on how did they made that price from a non functioning meter. the reply was we will look in it. it happened on 12/18/23-01/21/2024. So far we didn't hear anything even though we made many calls to them, the response was they don't want to return the money but not giving any valid reasons as well.       So help me make sure I'm not crazy. The plumbing and surge protection service was quoted at 9.99 and billed at 19.99. Went to pay bill balance and cancel the protection I was told it was taken off. It reflected that in the app. So I paid what the app showed, and now they have a charge of 19.99 as past due after receiving a 100$ payment. So why would you not apply the 100$ payment to the 19.99? All I get is * that's the way the system is set up. So I ask, what if I pay just the 19.99 I get hit with? It will go to the current bill. It just doesn't make sense. And I email them, and their billing dept says just pay the balance. No. Just use the last payment received to put it toward the past-due balance. SO, no, DO NOT use Rhythm. They have no billing or customer service ethics, and I wish I had done my due diligence and research before signing up. They only get one star because I had to choose a star.

We apologize for any confusion or frustration caused by the billing discrepancy you experienced with our Rhythm Plumbing and Surge Protection. We understand your concerns regarding how payments are applied whenever an account has a past due balance. We have reviewed the enrollment call, and we have a verbal agreement of enrollment for the $19.99 Rhythm Plumbing and Surge Protection, which has since been removed from the account as of 3/28/24. As a gesture of goodwill, we applied a credit towards the account for that amount, which has been applied to the balance. When a payment is made to the account, the amount received is first applied toward any outstanding energy consumption charges accrued during the billing period. These charges typically include the cost of electricity used during that time. This does not include any protections plans, like the Rhythm Plumbing and Surge Protection. Once these energy consumption charges are covered, any remaining balance from your payment will then be applied to any additional products or services. Before any past due protection plan can be paid, the current balance would need to be $0.00.

      Rhythm refused to recognize the excess energy I had produced with my solar panels for the period of time I was their client. After I tried to resolve the situation with them, they came back saying that they had investigated my claim and ****** ***** ****** didn't have my profile activated ... so they refused to pay me back for that energy that I had produced. So, I contacted the ******** ********** ******** ***** and filed a complaint. Based on the *** investigation, ****** ***** ****** had reported my excess of energy to Rhythm, so a violation was issued, and I have finally received my money back. This is my customer experience with Rhythm ... I'm glad that I reported to the proper consumer protection agency because otherwise I would have never received my money back. P.S. I've read a previous complaint in the complaint section of BBB where a customer was denied his produced $ because he was no longer a customer and they had made an exception ... my taken on this is the same, if you are not listened and feel it is unfair, please contact an agency as they can provide you with your denied rights.
