This company markets a promotional offer of a ten day $1 trial of their software, and then after ten days the company charges your card for $39 for a monthly subscription to use their services. This company charged my card on the 10th day $39, even though I cancelled the software trial on the tenth day. The company refuses to issue a refund and refers me to their terms of service, but no where in their terms of service does it state that $39 will be charged on the tenth day of the trial period.

    Hi

As ****** ****** mentioned, she registered for the $1 10-day trial offer on October 15 2024. On this same date the customer received a membership confirmation email, confirming and detailing her sign up, which specifically states: On 25/10/2024, your credit card will be charged $39.00, recurring monthly.
In addition, our Terms of Serviceavailable to the customer upon sign-upstate that we do not offer refunds on charges following the trial period. The customer had full access to manage or cancel her subscription through our 24/7 online cancellation option. However, we did not receive any cancellation request or communication from her until after the charge had occurred.

To ensure all customers have sufficient time to evaluate our service, we allow the 10-day trial period as a courtesy, along with access to easy, flexible cancellation methods. As no cancellation request was received within the trial period, the charge of $39.00 remains valid under the agreed-upon terms.

Attached to this response are screenshots of:
The membership confirmation email: stating the date and amount that will be charged,
The invoice confirming the billing date and amount, and
Our Terms of Service, outlining our no-refund and cancelation policy.

We are confident that the attached documentation will support our policies and actions in this matter. Thank you for your understanding.

    Hello ,

On July 7, 2024, John ********** signed up for our load board  using the email " [email protected] " , with a promotional offer of $1 for the first 10 days. During the sign-up process, John ********** selected a monthly subscription plan, which is set to automatically renew at the chosen rate of $59 after the 10-day trial period. This information is clearly stated during the sign up process (attached screenshot ) and in our terms of service, to which the customer agreed to during the registration.
The subscription renewal occurred on July 17, 2024, resulting in a charge of $59 for the Premium plan he chose during the sign up, to the billing details provided by John Williamson

We checked our call history for the phone number associated with the customer (attached screenshot). He tried to call us multiple times during the weekend , which is outside of our office hours (M-F 8AM-5PM EST ). He left us a voicemail and we returned it Monday July 22. Our representative explained the online cancellation process and provided the necessary link. Mr. ********** completed this link later that day , so the account has been closed.

We provide an option for users to close their accounts online without having to contact us. This is mentioned in our terms and services upon sign up (which a user must agree to) and in our FAQ section (both attached as screenshots).

Let us know if there is anything else we can do .
