1 star100% SCAM! I spoke with Nicholas Snow with AGR. He told me the $5 gold coin for $299 was to get people to call. Then immediately went into a sales pitch about $10 gold coins for $2995. When I pressed him about the amount of gold in the coins he told me 1/10th of an ounce for the $299 coin, and 1/4 of an ounce for the $2995 coin. He then spoke 15 minutes about buying the commodity instead of actual gold, but could not state what the ROI would be. He stated telling me the ROI was confidential information and constituted insider trading. However, he did state outrageous ROI number i.e., $112,000 investment would get me $700,000 in a year. Bottom Line: You are not buying gold. If you want a shiny worthless gold plated coin, then go for it. Just know that you are not buying gold and you will NOT have generational wealth to pass to your family. Stay far away from this company. Side Note: Any company that is has an advertisement to buy a $2,995 coin and their ad is next to an ice cream ad, RUN AWAY FAST.Review fromDavid H

2 starsThey DO bombard you with calls. Fact. I called about their advertised gold options, and their rather aggressive but oh so friendly sales guy went on and on about how I could do better....I gave in and purchased more expensive gold. May have been my mistake. After that they called (and called) about other offers. Eventually I purchased full sets of Gold American Eagles from the 80's to 2024. I also purchased a full set of Silver American Eagles which came in a pretty wooden box...that the bottom dropped out from. Fortunately I caught it. I was going to call, but they beat me to it, and called...to sell me something more. I told them about the case, and they promised to send a replacement...and I deferred on more purchases. Over the next few months, they called many times to sell me more, and I reminded them of the broken case they were going to replace. They never did, despite 3 different sales people saying they'd take care of that right away. One sales guy said they could help me with certifying other gold coins I had purchased before learning about them, but on the next regular call, a different sales guy said they do not offer that program, and the previous sales guy was no longer with the company....also, he'd make certain that replacement case (holds 40 coins in plastic housings) was sent. After enough time, failing to follow through on promises, making promises that they later say were for things they simply cannot do (left hand not knowing what right hand is up to?), I've just opted to let their calls go to voicemail. When they decide to leave a message it's to tell me about how great things are happening, and I should contact them about my gold, etc. Oh, and the full set of silver American Eagles, MS70, I found from another company for about $2,000 less. I purchased it too so I could side-by-side compare. Exact same, but not in as fancy a case...but also not a broken case. Just see no need to conduct business with them further. Sorry.Review fromHal S

I received a flyer that AGR was selling $5 gold eagles at spot price w/h a limit of ten. Called to order 10 at spot ($229.00 each), almost immediately tried to get me to buy 2 $50 gold eagles, I said no to that. I did receive the 10 gold eagles in about two weeks time and was satisfied with the purchase. The purchase was back in mid June, since then they have called 3-5 times every week. After telling them I wasn't interested in purchasing any more gold coins, they continued calling me. I've since blocked their number and will not deal with AGR again.American Gold Reserve

This company advertises in small local papers. They say how great a $5 gold coin is but when you call they tell you it is not a good buy. Then the salesman tells you a better buy would be the $10 gold coin with the highest grade of 70 and they have a small limited supply. This is a bunch of malarkey. They send you a 1/4oz $10 coin for 5 times the cost of 4 $5 coins. They're experts at double talk and confusion as they bait you in with free shipping and a free $5 if you upgrade to at least even one $10 coin which is not a good deal at all. Pay close attention and don't get ripped off like I was.American Gold Reserve

I would not recommend them to anyone. They try to hook you in with their ads for tenth ounce gold coins at spot prices and then try to sell you other coins. When you decline, they somehow mysteriously "lose" your check for the coins you ordered. They will not honor the price they quoted you even is you have the order number. I would give less than 1 star, but that is the lowest they show.American Gold Reserve

Do not use this company. I’ve been dealing with them for a while. Here recently I had to turn some gold in for money. That was 3 weeks ago and they told me that the funds would be direct deposit. Well, it’s coming to an end for this April 2nd in which the funds would be deposited. They have not and I’ve made numerous calls with no help. I will never use them again and if you want to you better check it out. False promises and doomed outcome.American Gold Reserve
