    A few of the employees at my job hosted a birthday luncheon for one of the employees who loves soul food. We selected Esther’s Cajun Café & Soul food since it is the closest soul food restaurant near the job. The employee who oversees the luncheon called the restaurant two days in advance to verify if she could place the order in advance and was informed yes. On the day of the event, she called to place the order and was informed that she could order in advance but could not make the over the phone. Upon my arrival the employee informed me that she did not have the order and did not do much to locate it. I called my colleague who placed the order which prompted the restaurant employee to try to look for the order. She returns with the order and an attitude. The form we provided to the restaurant detailed each of the 8 orders. the employee reviewed the form as she placed the food into each of the containers. interesting because 7 out of 8 of the orders were incorrect. When I returned to my work location I discovered 7 out of 8 of the orders were incorrect. I called the restaurant and requested to speak with the owner who was not in; therefore, I spoke with the manager. She was very understanding and agreed to give us a gift card for half of the purchase. The total for the 8 plates was $175; however, the gift card she provided was $50.00. This was a horrible experience and $50.00 is insulting. I wasted gas for the travel, I wasted time waiting for someone to locate the order, I wasted time calling in the order. I missed 2 hours of work pay; I wasted time calling to complain about the order. While at the restaurant I was mistreated. Additional gas and time were wasted to pick up the $50.00 gift card. On top of it all, the event was for someone’s birthday and multiple people were affected. This took place on Thursday 1/3/2024 around 2:15
