Shottenkirk Toyota in ******** sold a vehicle to someone using my name, drivers license number, social security number, and address. There are ongoing police investigations with the subject who stole my identity so that part is being handled. The day I learned of this transaction, I called them and spoke to their finance director ***************************. He assured me that they'd do anything they could to help. Later that day he told me that the general manager told him to not call Toyota Financial (who the vehicle was financed through and that he wanted to wait and see if they could get the car back first). Since then, they have not contacted Toyota financial and informed them of the fraudulent transaction and seemingly refuse to do so. The detective working the case also tells me that they won't file a stolen vehicle report either. This is their prerogative but I feel like it's bad business to try and keep this transaction as if it was legitimate. This leaves me in a bad spot as now I have to battle with Toyota Financial and they're telling me I need to have the dealer reach out to them - but obviously i can't force them to do that. I imagine they're doing this so they can keep bonuses or incentives they have from selling the car - but at this point it's at my expense and it's an illegitimate transaction. They have audio/video proof and know for a fact that it was completely fraudulent but ignore me and refuse to do anything. I want them to contact Toyota Financial and resolve this as it's going to begin reflecting poorly on my credit.

-July 12 -Sales woman told us that shottenkirk has the best price well find anywhere, which according to the website may be true. However whenever you get into their building, they tack on all kinds of extra fees. My wife was going to buy a car she loved, we were good with the price listed online and everything, but after about an hour and a half of looking at the new car, pricing her old one, and discussing everything, we found out that they have a non-negotiable $4,995 charge that they tack onto every deal. This was for a 6 month powertrain warranty, pdr for dings, windshield repairs, and a couple other small things. This price nor the fact that we were required to pay for this was never disclosed to us until we basically pryed it out of the salesperson. At the end of the day we walked out of there not buying anything because the total price was almost $10,000 more than the oline price. That is absolutely ridiculous, a huge scam, and a massive waste of time. Ive always heard stories of shottenkirk taking advantage of their customers but Ive only experienced it first hand 1 other time, and thought that they may have changed after moving into the new building, but I was very wrong.

Dealer Ethics, Deceptive Trade Practice and Misrepresentation . Notice the Certified Inspection form, information section, inspection dates etc... Notice the second page no signatures. Also concerning the *** Convenient Package. They told me it was necessary to purchase the vehicle. Days later after reading the Plans. I noticed it's not. On 6-27-23 I spoke with ************. They stated they know of such plan. They just sell the warranties. Observe the bottom section of the plans. It states it's voluntary etc. The dealership didn't give me that option. I emailed ***** (finance) concerning this. He hasn't responded. They haven't responded concerning if the vehicle is certified. I have supplied paperwork that states it is. Emails and text sent to *****************), ***** (general store momager), ***** (floor sales manager) and customer service. No response except from *****.

Dec 17, 2022 I purchased a used Tundra SR5 from Shottenkirk Toyota. The truck was falsely advertised in several ways. There was no leather seats, no blind spot monitor, no 32 gallon fuel tank among other options. I could visibly see most of these options were missing. We negotiated dealer install of blind spot monitors in rear view mirrors and Shottenkirk assured me there was a 32 gal tank. In my navet I assumed I would receive a factory BPM system. What I got was a knockoff aftermarket system I wouldve never bought. Shame on me for not confirming this detail before the purchase. The most egregious detail of this transaction was the bold face lie about the 32 gal tank. It doesnt have one. I discovered this fact the first time I filled the tank with fuel. Even worse when I called the dealer my sales manager assured me it was a 32 gal tank. He said it is common for the fuel gauge to read more empty than it really is, that theres actually another ************************* it. This is simply another lie from this person. Ive never been lied to in such an outright way in any business deal. At the bare minimum they should replace the tank with the 32 gal version. Theyre only possible solution to offer was for me to trade the truck for another. Shottenkirk is a symbol of everything wrong with the car buying experience.

It is unfortunate that the customer is disatisfied.  I am unclear what the customer's desired outcome of "Finish the job" references.  The customer has had this vehicle for approximately 6 months.

I am rejecting this response because:

With the degree of misrepresentation demonstrated by Shottenkirk sales staff it would be impossible to make this deal right.  At the bare minimum they should, at no cost to me, replace the small fuel tank with the larger option, 32 gallons I believe. I was told several times this truck has the larger tank, up to and including even after the sale when I called to inform Shottenkirk it has the smaller tank. That call wasnt 6 months after the sale. It was 2 days after the sale when I filled the tank for the first time. They continued to push the untruth I had the large tank even then.

They should replace the small tank with the large one.

The customer indicates that he purchased the truck from Shottenkirk Toyota in 2018.  Shottenkirk Toyota began operations on February 1, 2019.  Perhaps the customer purchased the vehicle from the prior owners of the Toyota store.  We do not have a customer by this name.

March 30 2023. I had been speaking with ****** (sales person) and ************************* (sales manager) about purchasing a 2018 **** Explorer. Due to an advertisement from Shottenkirk in ******** stating they would match any other dealers offer for my trade in I contacted Shottenkirk in Weatherford to see if they would do the same. Both ****** and ***** said yes. I was sent a work sheet showing the price. They would not match my trade in from two other dealers. Irritating but not life ending. My complaint is that they were charging an additional $2000 to the price that was fixed and could not be negotiated. So the price on their website did not declare the additional charge. Also I asked since its not part of the price on the website is there a contract I would sign to accept or decline this charge. I was told no. Is this illegal?

Despite each party's best efforts, a mutually agreeable deal could not be reached.  Unfortunately, a deal was not consummated.

On March 3, 2022 I purchased two vehicles from ShottenKirk Toyota Weatherford. As part of the purchase they added in several services and warranties and even verbally represented one of them as being free despite charging me $4,000 for each vehicle. Within 30 days of closing: I asked verberally to have all the warranties cancelled, I also submitted my request in writing, and I contacted the warranty company and had them cancel all of the warranties. ShottenKirk claims the ShottenKirk ***************** ($4,000 on each vehicle) cannot be cancelled and refunded because it was part of the vehicles selling price. I do have a cancellation request from Ethos showing I have cancelled all of the warranties including the ShottenKirk exactly as they advertised it. ***** law allows for refunds on all aftermarket warranties and service contracts. I have told ShottenKirk this yet they refuse to refund me.

Following the processing of the customer's cancellation requests, all refunds will either be forwarded to the customer, or to the lending institution, if applicable.

The manager ***** told me on a cash offer I cant decline the shottenkirk care insurance that is extra on the car. They lost a car low and then tell you it is more at the end. Shady business practices and the listed price is ****** and they say after the care package its over 30k ** they want to bump up the price on a cash buyer. I want them to stop using practices where they say a person can not wave the extra insurance stuff on the car.

Ive been i contact with this dealership trying to purchase a vehicle and the salesman and management has been falsely advertising there prices and trying to forcefully make me purchase a *************** package for ***** and when i expressed i did not want the package they are telling me its mandatory and cannot take off. I then asked for the legal documents to prove this claim. None were given. I was instructed to look online to only see the package is offered no where was there a fine print of cost or making it a mandatory purchase. I was also told by management that i could use my own financing. Then i was told in order to remove the *** package i would then have to do financing through them. Making the whole process extremely difficult and frustrating im not getting bullied into purchasing extra things i do not want to just be punished by dealer for that.
