We are just starting a complaint, with having received one violation letter demanding we remove our goats within 1 month of receiving the letter. We moved into a rental, after confirming with the owner that goats and chickens were allowed, and in less than 1 month, CIA Services/Bandera Falls POA started an, "investigation," into our having little mini/dwarf goats. They didn't notify us that they were doing an, "investigation," there were no questions asked etc. Instead we received a letter violation notice a month later notifying us that they concluded their, "investigation," and decided we have to remove the goats within a month's time. We looked at the by-laws and restrictions of their POA, and we are in total compliance with the Bandera Falls POA. We do not have to remove our goats at all, they didn't tell us this, however, and were continuing to treat us as if we were in the wrong. Their by-laws state: "On a temporary basis, a student may raise rabbits, goats or lambs as a 4-H, FFA or similar project provided such animal is confined within a fence area and such area is maintained in a healthful and sanitary manner at all times. " I responded to the CIA Services and let them know that this solution is good for all parties (owner, tenant and POA). Our children were using the goats for 4H, and it was only temporary as we are just renting right now and were not planning on staying once the lease is up, but the customer care correspondent only kept sending very short replies stating the POA had not approved farm animals. They finally sent a reply saying the Board would have to, "approve." I do not trust that their Board is going to approve of our children's 4H project with our goats. Based on how they've acted deceptively, causing us to believe we were in a violation of their by-laws, and demanding prompt removal. 4H is sending us a letter to show how our animals will be used for education purposes, we'll see if it's accepted.
