Wish I could leave ZERO stars. Jora is a rip off. They prey on the needy then charge outrageous interest. It should NOT take over 5 years to pay back ***** but because of the outrageous interest and the few dollars applied to the principal, they are robbing people. I understand they have to make money but the amount they are making should be criminal! They dont want to work with you if you have financial hardships even if you've paid on time and paid extra. I hope NO ONE gets a loan from them. I will spread the word. Its not defamation, it is my experience that they apply $4 to the principal from a $164 payment. THIS IS WRONG! RUN AND RUN FAST TO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!Jora Credit

We are sorry Ms. *************** feels this way. When we approved her request for credit, we extended her an offer that provided the total cost of the loan, the number of payments, the amount of each payment and all the necessary information that was needed for her to make an informed decision on whether or not to accept the loan from us. We also included, in bold font, just below the cost information of the loan, the following: "WARNING: This Loan is not meant to help you with your long-term credit needs. Repeated or frequent use can create serious financial problems for you. We encourage you to think about the costs and benefits of all alternatives before borrowing."After being provided with all of this information before she obligated herself, Ms. *************** accepted the loan given the terms we offered. The costs and repayment terms of the loan are not any different than what we provided up front, before the loan was accepted. We are more than happy to work with Ms. ***************. In fact, we deferred 2 payments at her request last month. We encourage her to contact us so that we can better understand her situation and see if we have options available to assist her going forward.Review fromLinda C

I received pre-approved for a loan constantly. I have applied based on these letters from them and am turned each time I apply. And each time they do a hard pull on my credit report which causes my score to take a hit. I do not understand why they make someone feel as they are pre approved when actually they are not. I read their small print stating it is based on my credit report. This is so misleadingJora Credit

Ms. ******* we received your name and limited credit information from a credit reporting agency. Based on that limited information, we were able to pre-approve you for a loan. However, as disclosed in the letter we sent, the offer is not guaranteed if you do not continue to meet the same criteria when you apply that you did when we pre-approved you. When you submit an application, we receive updated information from the credit reporting agency and review that to see if you continue to meet the criteria from when you were pre-approved. In your case, your credit file had deteriorated from the time we pre-approved you to the time that you applied. I apologize that we were not able to approve your application and hope that this provides more information as to why this happened.Review fromSamuel C

I was approved for a loan. The issue is that the employment verification seems sketchy. The company I work for is listed however the portal provided through a third party shows *** and another company none of which is used by my employer. I asked if they could remove the credit inquiry because it's not appropriate to have a hard credit check and afterwards make it impossible to complete the process. I find it strange that a loan company would not have multiple ways to verify employment.Jora Credit

We called Mr. **** and helped troubleshoot the issue he was having. The issue was not related to any employment verification but was a result of the employer name that Mr. **** provided with his application. He inadvertently provided the incorrect employer name which caused the issue he was experiencing. We believe we addressed the issue and that Mr. **** was satisfied with our efforts.Review fromBrenda F

False advertisement. I continue to receive Pre-approved offers for $4,000 (not up to 4k, but for 4k). However, they only offer me $2,100 after I feel out the loan paperwork. Nothing in my situation has changed within 24 hours of my receiving the offer & applying for the loan.Jora Credit

Ms. ********* you received a pre-approved offer because we received your name and limited credit information from a credit reporting agency ("CRA") due to information contained in your credit report. When you applied, the information in your credit report had changed from when the *** initially sent us your information. As a result, we couldn't approve you for the amount in the offer but, instead, provided you with a counteroffer for a lower amount.Review fromMindi B

We spoke to Ms. **** and followed up with an email explaining why the payment was applied as it was but that it was also a failure on our part not to effectively communicate with her. We have made an account adjustment that we believe is satisfactory for Ms. *****Review fromKiara B

Many times, credit unions do not participate in bank verification processes and since you listed a credit union as your bank this is the likely reason that the verification could not be completed. We apologize for that but have no control over which financial institutions choose to participate or not.Review fromBv L

Very high interest rate company. You will never get out of debt with them.Jora Credit
Date: 08/13/2024
It is true that our rates can be in the triple digits (we post our loan amounts and rates on our website for all to see) but it is completely false that "you will never get out of debt..". Our installment loans are closed-end loans and we disclose the total cost of the loan on the loan agreement that is provided to the consumer when we make the loan offer. The consumer is not obligated to accept the loan if they are not happy with the terms we offer. However, if a loan is accepted, we will never charge the borrower more than what it disclosed in the loan agreement. The repayment terms and full schedule of payments are included in the loan agreement and once the borrower repays the loan, the loan will be paid in full. Most of our loans average around a 2 year term with some higher loan amounts extending out to a little over 2.5 years.Review fromWillie H

This loan is a usary loan. God frowns on these type of lenders. The bible replies, "WOAH" unto thee. That means that Gods wrath shall be upon thee. You can (Bank) on that happening too. No one tells you that if you are approved for this loan; that you have to call in to pay extra towards the principal, or you will be just giving them your money for free, and your balance will never go down. I called in and asked that they debit ***** ONLY towards the principal before the schedulued monthly payment was due to be debited. The representative assured me that she understood my intentions. I checked my bank account, and exactly what I thought happened. Jora Credit debited ***** plus the scheduled monthly payment was due. Also when the scheduled monthly payment was due; they debited it as well. This is not fair business practice. This was not an error, or a misunderstanding. The representative assured me that she understood when I specifically said ***** ONLY towards the principal. This is a buyer beware informal complaint. The Better Business Bureau refuse to file a claim if you are not seeking monetary damages. I don't care how desperate you are in need of cash. Do not accept a loan from this lender. This is their business practice. I am pretty sure that several others have complained about this very same business practice. They practice doing this on everybody. If you don't have the money; this will create havoc in your bank account; like insufficient funds fees. I contacted them by email at support, and I will follow up with the lie they will try to explain. Well, since I owe them; they feel that they have the power. I will take back the power; by never ever again, and warning others. I will bad mouthed them til the return of ***********************.Jora Credit

We spoke to ************ and advised him that it was a misunderstanding on our part on how we understood he wanted his principal-only payment processed and for which amount. We have refunded him the amount that was inadvertently processed and applied his principal-only payment as he requested. We believe that we have addressed **************** concerns to his satisfaction.Review fromHaene S

Asking their customers to communicate via unsecured websites and unable to confirm any transactions on a loan application there were several instances where I felt that jora credit is a scam company and should not be trusted.Jora Credit

I would only use this one company if you had no other choice It's a very high interest rate and only like $6 of your payment goes towards actual loan. Is almost impossible to pay back. They're very rude and do not tell you that interest to cruise dailyJora Credit

We contacted **************** and discussed her loan and the information that was provided in the loan agreement before she accepted her loan. We explained how the loan accrues interest and apologized that the customer support representative she spoke to didn't provide that level of detail. We believe we addressed ******************** concerns and will be providing feedback and training to our customer support team so that they can handle inquiries like this more effectively.
