This is a long story. in June my brother *********************** placed ***** (Pit Bull Mix) at KV C to be housed (boarded). At the time he only planned on her being there a few weeks. Fast Forward to mid august when I get a telephone call that ***** was at this facility and that they were looking to charge my brother with abandonment. I asked the animal control officer how he got my number and was informed that I was *****'s emergency contact. I just dont understand how this officer can call and i answer on the first call and no one from the facility make contact. I spoke with the owner on Friday and was informed if I brought $1400.00 that I could retrieve the animal. I asked if i could make a $205.00 payment in good faith that I would be there on Tuesday 08/22/2023 with the balance of $1195.00 , he said i doubt it but yes i could make the payment. I informed the owner that I am not my brothers keeper and what i say i will do. On 08/22/2023 i was at the facility at 8:10am paid what I was told to pay which was $1161.00. I did not receive an itemized list of charges or what they charge a day or what was paid on her because I know of another payment of $600.00 was paid the first of August. What was so upsetting is when i had my first discussion with the owner about ******* was told i ha until the 26th of august or he was putting her down. I understand his position and that's not even what i'm upset about none of this matters. What matters is *****'s legs. I have enclosed pictures of just two of her legs and all four of them are just as bad. No matter what the situation was between ****** and KVC ***** was in their possession ***** was coming home and they knew this as a fact on Friday and no one tried to do anything to doctor her legs. Now ***** is slow to walk and does not jump like she did in June and i do understand she is 10. But she is helpless and the Vet should have taken care of a dog that was in his possession 75 days and was paid to be taken care of.
