We engaged with Texas Building Center (***) of *********, Texas in February 2021. The original plan to build a **** square foot barndo changed in late 2021 to 600 square foot. From the pouring of the foundation to the final walkthrough, mediocre workmanship, inferior materials, and failure to follow architectural plans and contract left ** thankful *** did not build the larger house. Exterior metal siding is wavy, windows installed at different heights and not square, scorched plumbing, damaged lumber, insufficient wiring, light fixtures installed that were not part of the plan, incorrectly poured foundation for a tub rather than a shower, 45-gallon water heater installed rather than the tankless discussed, poor interior paint work, broken window sillsthe list goes on. Variances to the build plan were completed without consultation or notification. When variances to build plans were questioned, excuse were given and when inferior workmanship pointed out, lies were told, which were evident by cameras on the property. The schedule of payments listing build deliverables and subsequent payments was not followed. *** did not schedule a final walk through but indicated the build was complete and requested Payments 4 7, with 7 being the final payment, invoiced at one time. Many items, including installing the toilet, were yet to be complete, when final payment was invoiced. After final payment was made, it was discovered the water heater had not been wired in. We continue to find inadequate workmanship and attention to detail throughout. Quite personable and accommodating in the pre-build phase, the *** staff became difficult to reach once the build began in mid-2022 and took seven months to complete a three-month project. We would recommend anyone considering *** for their barndo build, do your homework and be prepared to closely monitor your build.

Not a good experience. Company took our deposit and then did not communicate with us for over 3 months. We then received a call our home price to build went up tens of thousands of dollars. So we were forced to find another builder. Company would not refund our deposit after architecture costs. This builder did not stick to their contract agreement of promises made up front. We lost thousands of dollars.

I had a 22x 24 foot custom building erected by Texas Building Center. I asked **** to come out different times to see the location so I could show him what I wanted , he never came out . IT IS ABOUT A ***************. He instead told me he would send his man out who was ********************* a contractor as I found out had little to no experience in erecting a building. A crew of 6 men did a very poor quality job. Just some of the problems , walk thru door threshold put in wrong they had to move it now have three holes in floor, have 2 windows , first rain they both leaked . J channel was put in wrong. Broken metal screws were caulked over. There are others. HOW CAN BBB BACK THIS BUILDING COMPANY. 0 stars would be my choice .
