Tahiti Travel Planners took our deposit for a Tahiti vacation and additional funds to purchase airline tickets. Those funds were never applied towards any payment to either the tour operators in Tahiti or the airlines. When checking our reservations, we found that apparently the owner of the company passed away and they abruptly shuttered their doors. If so, where did all of the deposit money from us, and many others go?Initial Complaint

I paid a $1000 deposit on the land portion of a vacation to Tahiti in June 2023. I received an email on 11/28/2023 from a different company based in Tahiti (Tahiti Islands Travel), stating that Tahiti Travel Planners, a division of New Millennium Tours, Inc. had suddenly gone out of business and they had not been paid (since they are the inbound operators in Tahiti). I was not due to pay the balance to Tahiti Travel Planners until March, however they did not pay the inbound operators the deposit that I paid them. Therefore, the inbound operators, Tahiti Islands Travel, now wants another deposit within a week, and the balance due in April, ****. I want my $1000 deposit back so I can make arrangements with a reputable, Tahiti-based company.Initial Complaint

We paid Tahiti Travel Planners (a part of New Millenium Tours) for a trip (Nov 28-Dec 8, 2023) to Taa'ha and Bora Bora in Tahiti. 2 days before we left we received an email+call from their partner company in Tahiti that the owner of Tahiti Travel Planners (TTP) died and that they closed their business. We paid the $14k back in August and TTP did not pay any of the resorts that we paid the booking fees for. So nothing was paid except for the flights. Now we are forced to pay it all again as any cancelation at this point requires 100% payment. We cannot reach anyone at TTP and their website is down. We request help from the BBB to obtain a refund for all of the trip that was never paid for by TTP. Please advise on what can be done and how we are to proceed with this. Thank you.***************************** ************Initial Complaint

We booked a trip through them in March and paid $1000 deposit. Paid the rest in June of $3600 for a trip in November. We were scheduled to arrive 11/23/23. While in ************* on our layover, we were told that the company closed their doors on 11/20/23 and had not paid for any of our services. So we paid them but they didn't pay for the service. Luckily we had a local contact in Tahiti and were able to repay and still take our trip. Apparently the owner of this US company died and didn't pay for any service and informed the employees they couldn't reach out to any of their future guests. We are the first of many affected and we found out day of departing.
