So I buy a $7000 heat pump 2 years ago through Goode ***** my 2 year old unit stops cooling, tech comes out promptly, finds a leak in a weld joint on the coil, thats a defect from the factory, the tech doesnt have the proper materials to solder the leak, says the office will schedule next steps and he recharges the unit so it cools again. Next day, I am told the coil is under warranty and they will have replacement sent this week, I thought, great. Then its explained to me that I will be charged an additional $675 for labor to change coil, on top of the $250 service call, in the background, my mother mentions getting a lawyer, he asks what did she say, I told him, I also told him I'm kind of over a barrel here and to get the coil, I ended our conversation quoting the Bible, if it happens again, eye for an eye, and Im gonna get me some eyes, chuckled and ended call. Next morning, ***** Goode calls me, tells me that I raised my voice with them, and mention the lawyer being mentioned, and that they apparently felt I threatened them, he said "we are busy enough, we dont need your business" and he hung up on me, and cancelled my service with them. Now I never swore or said anything derogatory about anyone, my voice may have gottn louder as the bill keeps going up, but not screaming or yelling. That leaves 2 things, the mention of a lawyer, which should only bother them if they are being shady, or my Bible reference was taken as a threat, they come off as greedy to me, so maybe quoting Biblical saying offends their desire for wealth. The techs have had high turn over in the last few years, still had great service from them, the management, wouldnt f*** in public, for fear that someone else may breathe in their glory, arrogant, deceitful, and ****** sensitive, if you like drama, this is the company for you.
