We purchased a house from Sharkey in June 2021. The home had a one year warranty. We requested items be fixed several times and they gave us pushback for simple requests. When we asked them to check the electrical, they said there was nothing wrong with it. To this day we have shorts in the circuit. Our landscaping is horrendous and the fencing is below subpar. The quality of craftsmanship is criminal, and the way we were treated was despicable. We will never purchase a sharkey home and will advise others to do the same.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/12/06) */ Contact Name and Title: ***** Sharkey, President Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: ******************@gmail.com We are sorry that she was not happy with service she received from Sharkey Custom Homes. We would like to address all items mentioned in her complaint. First, I would like to say that we have not been contacted by her regarding any dissatisfaction on her part. At the time of closing her home we met with her and gave her a home completion process document that she signed. Within the document, it contains the process and procedures to turn in all requested warranty work. She only sent her request to the appropriate channels one time. In all cases, even though they weren't requested properly, ******* Homes processed and completed all items that qualified for a warranty claim. The only "push back" that was given was her request to replace or repair large sections of concrete that had minor cracks. These cracks were not present at the time of the customer walk through and did not qualify for warranty. After looking at the cracks at a later date after she asked about getting it repaired, we determined that a large vehicle of some kind had driven on the concrete causing the small corner to crack. Her complaint regarding the electrical: we had our electricians go run tests on her electrical circuit and determined everything was operating properly. We never heard from her that there were any additional issues. The landscaping and fencing were all done and completed by our contractors that do all of our work on our homes ranging from starter homes to million-dollar custom homes. So, I'm sure there's nothing wrong with these items; but nevertheless, we were never given notice or the opportunity to resolve any perceived issues. The craftsman that did the finishes did good work and made every effort to do above average amount of repairs and touch ups on their paint and cabinets after she and her co-buyer stayed up until 3:00am marking every little flaw. She claims that she was treated despicable; but we had a very nice relationship with them during and after construction. We even gave them a $250 gift card, a bouquet of flowers and a thank you card. We even had them pick out and we paid for a refrigerator that was never part of the budget. She found it on a selection sheet that requested we include it in the house price, so we did as a goodwill gesture. We are sorry that she would not recommend us to others. We have built a solid reputation for the last 25 years and have never received a complaint. As of 12/6/2022, we have reached out multiple times to address these complaints and have not heard back.
