The manager named ****** at the **** University location in Lubbock, ***** has been charging me extra every month and now everyday saying that the price went up but I have not been notified by mail or phone. I have tried to reason with him multiple times and he just said that the company needs to make as much money as the other storages in town and since there prices went up his has to. I told him that it is against the law to raise the price of rent without notice to give me the opportunity to decide if I want to continue there or go somewhere else. He just said to me to read the contract, that he can raise the price whenever he wants. This is the worst possible management situation I have ever seen. He said that he is full and he could be getting more for my storage unit and he wants me to pay more since he feels he could get more for it. I told him that ** already struggling to pay the rent on it already do to inflation and having to pay extra for food and the price of living for me and my children he said that is not his problem. he already raised the rent from $95 when I first got the unit to $225 and each time I was not notified just surprised. He has been charging me now since our conversation an extra $3 a day on top of the $225 I already paid. This has got to illegal. Last year he locked my kids Christmas presents in the storage over a $1 and told me pay the $1 or no present I couldnt even believe what I was hearing like wow how can this be legal for someone to hold your property at ******. I will never do business with this company ever again in my life this is the worst situation I could have ever gotten into. Im stuck here until I can afford to get a truck and move out of it and he is taking full advantage of me.
