February 2nd 2025. I parked my truck behind ***************** located at ***************** in a private parking lot. I ubered home that night. I returned and my vehicle was impounded my RP's heavy duty towing. That is fine that was my fault. I went to RP's heavy duty towing in the morning of February 2nd to get my truck. A ******** **** from RP's showed up after 45mins. Once inside he told me I couldn't get my truck back till I gave my Drivers license (which i had) & proof of insurance and paid the fee of $305 (which i had). *** I know proof of insurance is not required to get my truck back when the truck registration matched the name on my drivers license (which it does) plus I didn't bring my proof of insurance with me. He refused to give me my truck kicked me out and left without giving me my truck. I spoke to lubbock wrecker and verified towing company's cant refuse to return vehicles because you don't show them insurance. ******* wrecker said it was Texas State Law that towing Company's can't not hold cars due to not providing proof of insurance and vehicle Law stated towing company's had 1 hour to return vehicle which didn't not happen. It is my belief RP's heavy duty towing is operating outside the Law to add addition storage fees to citizens of Lubbock to make extra money. I am speaking out to you to help right this wrong. So ultimately my wife was able to get a copy of my insurance and give it to me. Then he refused to return stating he wouldn't return to deal with someone who is telling him how to do his job and didnt have proof of insurnace. So I had to have my wife meet with him. This is unlawful and a ridiculous inconvenience. I feel their unlawful practice of requiring proof of insurance has wronged countless Lubbock citizens. I would like my towing fee refunded $305 + $305 for having to have my wife get insurance and go in the business to deal with that discruntled employee if that is possible.

We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns and regret that you were dissatisfied with your experience.

As a licensed towing company, we strictly follow all regulations set forth by the ******************************************** (****). Per these regulations, certain documentation must be provided before a vehicle can be released. You can find the full list of required documents on the **** website here: *************************************************************************************** We have also attached a screenshot for your reference.

At the time of retrieval, the only document presented to us was your driver's license. Unfortunately, without the required proof of insurance or alternative documentation as outlined by ****, we were unable to release the vehicle. We understand this may have been frustrating, but we are required to comply with state law.

Additionally, we want to clarify that no storage fees were charged, as shown in the attached receipt.

Our goal is to provide professional and lawful service, and we apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused. If you have any further questions, we encourage you to reach out to us directly.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

      Best regards,
      **** *******
