I was a member at the Pat Booker TruFit location up until my birthday, July 26th 2022, which is when I came in person to cancel my membership. I signed a piece of paper stating I would be charged two more regular memberships and then I would not be charged again. Every one in awhile, they charge me different/various amounts that are inconsistent with their subscriptions, and then when I call and ask what the charge is and why I'm charged, they tell me that it isn't in their system. I counted and it appears that TruFit has stolen about $104 USD from me, and they REFUSE to give me a viable solution to this issue.

In April of 2022, we cancelled my husbands TruFit membership at the **** ***** ********. Around June it came to our attention that we'd continue being charged for the membership each month, one month actually resulted in an overdraft fee from my bank. We were told that the team member who helped us cancel our membership, ***** had been let go from the company and there was a change in management which I understand as I work in multifamily management. It took several request for them to finally stop charging me in October of 2022. I've since been requesting a refund yet the managers are always in a meeting, calls do not get returned nor do emails. I just don't know what to do at this point. The name and phone number associated with the account is ****** ********* ***** ********, the bank account used to make the payments is in my name. We just want our money back including the $35 overdraft fee. At one point they requested my bank statements to show proof that I actually paid them which sounded super shady, but I sent them via email and it got me no closer to my refund. I'm just looking for any outlet of help to make my voice heard.

I signed up for a TruFit membership, but then had to relocate due to my job. I came in-person to cancel my membership. I completed a cancellation request and signed a piece of paper. I submitted documentation of my relocation and they scanned a copy of my document. At my next workout, I attempted to verify my cancellation. They were unaware that I had previously cancelled. So I started the process again, signed a second form and got a copy this time. Then I got a call requesting that I bring in a copy of my lease - stating that my cancellation could only be processed with the document, which I had already submitted. I came in immediately and put in a cancellation. I still have no confirmation of my cancellation. I will now be paying for my membership for a time after a leave - as the 30 days notice they cite means that you will be getting charged during the entire 30-day notice period. In my case, this means I will be unable to use the last portion of my membership, as I will be out of state. Don't sign up for this! You'll never get out. I highly recommend sending all cancellation requests via certified mail and requesting a receipt. The people at the front desk will just pretend you never cancelled and lose your paperwork. If you do cancel in-person, request copies of everything to include a copy of the cancellation request, the contract you originally signed, and a statement indicating your last payment date.

Joined TruFit Athletic Clubs in October 2021 and signed up for monthly plan. In July 2022 I attempted to cancel my membership and followed the directions provided by the TruFit website. I made contact at the gym but “no management was there”, I sent a certified letter with my cancellation request on 07/04/2022. The letter was received and signed for on 07/06/2022 per the post office tracking. Since, I have left voicemails, sent emails, and spoke to employees at the front desk with no resolution. I understand there is a “30 day cancellation” window but I have been charged in August, September, and October. I have also been charged a new yearly fee of over $50 this month. I have literally done everything this gym has listed concerning cancellation. I have not heard back from any type of management and they do not return any type of correspondence. Further, the “service” email provided on the website is bounced and returned to sender. All I ask is that my membership be cancelled and I am refunded (especially the new yearly fee).

My wife and I signed up for personal training and we canceled service after initial term to get 4 sessions. We continued to get charged despite canceling in writing at the facility. We have been told numerous times we will be getting our refund of $90 but a month later, nothing has happened and responses have been vague at best.

To whom it may concern - I’d like to cancel my membership and receive confirmation of that cancellation. Please see the timeline of my troubles I’ve had with TruFit below. On June 21st, 2022, I signed a contract for the TruFit gym that was scheduled to open in "summer 2022" under a preopening special that included my banking information for auto pay on my membership that would start when the gym opened. On July 15th, I messaged the gym through social media to ask when they were expecting to open and received a response on July 19th that they were expecting to be open by the end of August 2022. On August 19th, I received an email from the gym stating that they finally received their construction permits and should be open by the end of September, second week of October at the latest. After receiving that email, I reached out to the club again to ask how to cancel my membership given that the club opening date was much later than initially advertised when I signed the contract. **see attached PDF for full complain**

On the week of June 20, I told B****** (Flores), that I would be able to go in for personal training on (June 20), which was a Monday. He told me, "let me claim the two sessions now, so the time slot is saved for you." I went that day for personal training and asked *******, where B****** was. And found out, that he is no longer works there. I told her, what happens to my PT sessions. She said, "she would call me about it." I left and thought that I would recieve a call from her within the same week, but no call back. I don't know, if they knew that he was going to be leaving before that day but I believe something happen there. I lost the money for the two PT sessions left. I returned to the gym on July 12, to find out with was going on because I was being charged for the personal training. I told ****** that I wanted to cancel the gym membership and to find out what has happening with the cancellation for the personal training, because I was still being charged. She told me that I needed to speak to *******. She lets me know that was something that the receptionist would be able to do. Then I ask her, "what happens to the personal training that I never received with B******" and she just blew me off. She said, "I can't talk about it right now" and calls over another trainer. I called the headquarters on July 14, to speak to someone about all this. It rung awhile, until someone finally answered. I told her that I wanted to speak to someone about filing a complaint and talk about some concerns that I had. She said just told me, that the account manager, ****** was at lunch and would call me back. I waited with no call back. I called back on July 22, and spoke with ***** to find out what was happening. She told me, that she couldn't do anything but she would email the district manager and club manager. To this day, I am waiting for a call from the district manager. I am just looking for a refund for the membership and personal training.

TRU FIT ATHLETIC CLUB, SAN ANGELO, TX. APRIL, 2022. I left the San Angelo area in late April, 2022 due to military related relocation. I came in to inform the staff that I was leaving to an area where there is not a Tru Fit location for over 30 miles. According to Tru Fit’s website, this is grounds for an immediate cancellation. I filled out a cancellation form and the staff assured me that it’d be canceled immediately and I will not pay another bill. Fast forward to late August, 2022, and I’ve been donating free money to Tru Fit for four extra months. My cancellation was not processed and now they have nothing on file to support that I came in.

I joined September 2021, and I have been charged for 2 gyms. I only joined Pat Booker, Texas. For some reason it also had me with Military Gym. I spoke to from desk right away and I was told that it was fixed and my one club is Pat Booker. Apparently, she didn’t take off Military gym, because I have been charged double all this time. The reason I realized I was charged double, I got charged again for annual fee. After 2 months membership I was charged annual $49.99 + tax. This past July I got charged $63.81 including tax for annual, and monthly fee, and at the end of July I was charged again $10.81 including tax for monthly fee. I checked my online statements and it shows they have been charging $10.81 twice every month. I called them several times about this with no return response. I went in and was told I would be contacted. No response at all and that is why I am making this complaint. One more thing, I haven’t been there 1 year and charged annual twice. I don’t get it? Thank you and waiting patiently, Craig
