I purchased this 2001 Chevrolet Express 1500 Van VIN# ***************** from Renee Bates Auctioneer on the behalf of The City of Baytown Public works Mr. ****** ****** & ***** ***** and their company at Baytown Public Works knew this vehicle was not in safety running conditions. Let alone be put on the road. My son and I sacrifice my savings and took a one way flight to Baytown Public Works to buy this van. We then caught an Uber from the airport to Baytown Public Works. This was the beginning of a disaster that almost cost us our lives.This vehicle was a lemon from the start. 1. In the description on the website it stated lies about the vehicle . It stated the vehicle was a 5.7. It's not a 5.7 liter. It's a 4.3 liter. See attached documents. 2. Either Mr. ******, Mr. ***** or someone in their company rolled back the mileage. The website stated that it has 46, 465 miles on it. However according to Bumper.com the vehicle has 271,110 of the original miles. Rolling back miles to increase sales is against the law. 3. Additional problems that I encountered. The oil hand was swinging back and fourth.. I googled what it could be and read that the fuel pump was bad. Red Wires were hanging under the steering wheel area. I didn't know where they belong or why were they there. 4. The website also stated the battery was replaced. However the battery was dated 2019. I had to purchase a battery before leaving the lot because it wouldn't start. My son and I spent money catching a Uber to Walmart to buy a battery. 5. It further stated the A/C worked. That was a lie. I paid $45.00 for Freon at O'Reilly's and after installation from the staff there, there was knocking noise. I asked the staff at O'Reilly's why is it making that noise? He said the air compressor was bad. 6. Mr. ****** stated to me" (While driving keep an eye on the thermostat gauge while you are driving") I stated why is there something wrong with it? He stated ("NO but just watch it"!) The vehicle was sabotage to get more money for the van. 6. Next, the back tire was on a flat. Mr. ****** put enough air in it to make it to WalMart to buy a new tire. I didn't receive any paperwork at all to this vehicle. I have no proof to show that I own this vehicle While at Walmart I paid to have an oil change done. We made it three hours into a five hour trip and had a blow out from one of the other tires bursting. We droved the busted tire until we stumbled upon another O'Reilys .A female worker helped us to remove a tire that was under the van and install it on the vehicle. Fifteen minutes later the van started running hot. We drove until we found a gas station. We stayed there until the van cooled down. We decided to sleep in the hot van taking turns watching out for intruders. My son slept a few hours, I slept a few hours. We both took turns until the morning. In the morning we tried to drive a little further the engine light would come back on. Sunday evening I reached out to my cousin to drive us back to Buffalo to get the van. This time we drove 50 miles an hour holding up traffic, with the engine light on to get it back to McKinney. To add fuel to the fire I lost my job. I lost my job because I didn't show up for three days. Because I was stranded with a van that had no business being sold let alone on the road. Now I'm homeless, and without a job. After riding on a busted tire to get to Renee Bates Auctioneer to return the van to them. I received a call from my bank telling me that my account was frozen and that RBA has denied returning my money. Now I have no and no job This vehicle has 48 complaints and 122 mechanical issues. It should not be sold or on the rode. Someone is going to get hurt. We left our clothes at a neighbor's house so we could bring the van to RBA. I'm hoping for a resolution and a refund of my money from Baytown Public Works. I'm hoping to hear something back positive and in good faith tomorrow. I've never bought anything from the auction. This is new to me. I'm lost, hurt, frustrated and feel like a failure. I need answers. Thank you , *********
