First met w/*** owner of Bath Masters of Collin County on 5/22/23 to get a quote for a master bathroom remodel. At the time he quoted me $20,000 for the complete project including demo, materials and labor. Requested a deposit of $6,500 which I paid that day. I was referred to him by a great friend so totally trusted him. Met *********** wife on 5/31/23 to discuss demo and start day - he requested another check in the amount of $6,750 - so I have now paid $13,250 before any work was started or materials purchased. Where things went terribly wrong after that:* I received several inappropriate & sexually explicit texts from him. All have been saved if you need to see them. At this point my demo had started, my bathroom was a complete wreck and he had $13,250 of my money. Could not fire him at this point and receive my money back. * I was then asked to purchase my own materials. I purchased my flooring, vanity, mirrors, light fixtures, toilet even paint..* There were days that I never heard from him and no one showed up to work.* Things were not measured incorrectly so had to be re-done. One thing was done so poorly that it prevented me from getting a shower door for my new shower. * Holes were cut in walls and the ceiling that I had to have repaired * I was told which faucets to purchase to later find out they were wrong - had to pay the plumber to come back out and change out a faucet that he tried to put on and broke - a $600 faucet set * Subcontractors were not showing up to finish at which time I learned from two that they quit coming because they had not been paid. * I hired the plumber to finish (pd $2,132), electrician (pd $780), glass/tile guy to finish shower (pd $2,380). All in I paid *** $13,250 plus I paid $9458.95 in labor and materials to get a working bathroom.I would like to know what the $13k I paid to *** went towards. I did not get that in return in materials and labor., I feel completely taken advantage of and lied to.
