Bus. & Com. Code 17.41-17.63., This violation of Texas consumer protect law started on July 17, 2024. I am a disabled combat veteran and wanted to restore my 67 **** mustang I communicated same to owner ****** ******** of Collin County Customs. I requested services to install a new electric fluid pump. ****** said he required a mechanic diagnostic of the 289 engine that came back bad. He stated that the compression test, a diagnostic tool that checks the health of a vehicle's engine by measuring the pressure inside the cylinders. It can help identify issues with the engine's piston rings and valves, was bad and the engine need to be rebuild. I only agreed to purchase and install a new engine after consulting with my wife which at this point we all agreed. The engine was install and afterward they did not want return my old engine to me I had to fight with them until my PTSD was high and then they return the engine but they did not want to help with getting the engine hoisted and placed into my truck. They stated with the engine install and later I started getting unapproved invoices for parts and labor. Later as time pasted I came too understand the ***** Collin County Custom a automotive restoration facility that specializes in classics tried to get me to a point where I could no long be able to paid the invoices so that they could place a legal Mechanics Lien on my 1967 **** Mustang. This is one of the most powerful legal tools that Collin County Customs a Laborer has to secure payment for unpaid labor/materials provided to a privately owned Property Note: all invoices where paid totaling ********* this is how much I had to fight Collin County Customers to STOP that also Breach our Contract.

    Business Response

Mr. ******* stated - Collin County Customs, LLC and registered agent ****** ******** and **** ********, AB, and **** *** (collectively Defendants), and alleges breach of contract and violating the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act ("DTPA"), Tex. Bus.

Our response - Yes, one cylinder was well below threshold of 10-15% difference between the other cylinders. This is indicative of a damaged valve, blown head gasket, cracked head, bad rings which today is very costly to repair and we found a rebuilt engine for less than what it would have cost to rebuild his old engine which is very common these days.
Compression results were as follows :
    Cylinder 1 - 120 ***, Cylinder 2 - 30 ***, Cylinder 3 - 150 ***, Cylinder 4 - 120 ***, Cylinder 5 - 120 ***, Cylinder 6 - 135 ***, Cylinder 7 - 130 ***, Cylinder 8 - 125 ***
There is clearly a variance in all the cylinders but Cylinder 2 was only 30 ***. A healthy engine typically has anywhere from ******* *** across ALL cylinders and you want the *** readings between them to all be EVEN and no more than a 10-15% variance. We keep all compression results on file along with customer approvals in writing all of which we have for record.

Mr. ******* stated - I only agreed to purchase and install a new engine after consulting with my wife which at this point we all agreed. The engine was install and afterward they did not want return my old engine to me I had to fight with them until my PTSD was high and then they return the engine but they did not want to help with getting the engine hoisted and placed into my truck.

Our response - Mr. ******** assertion here is not an honest recitation of the facts. We had to ask Mr. ******* numerous times to come get his old engine and parts so we can have more room in our shop. He finally came to pick up his engine after we had been asking for a few weeks.  After Engine was picked up, we observed the engine was in his truck for over a week because he still had it in the bed of his truck the following week when paying his most recent invoice for work completed.

Mr. ******* stated  They stated with the engine install and later I started getting unapproved invoices for parts and labor.

Our response - This is another assertion that is not an honest recitation of the facts.  We communicated with Mr. ******* almost on a daily basis and he approved all work and parts and paid every invoice in a timely manner in which he would hand deliver his payments and have myself sign the check stub and his copy of the invoice for his record.

Mr. ******* stated - Later as time pasted I came too understand the ***** Collin County Custom a automotive restoration facility that specializes in classics tried to get me to a point where I could no long be able to paid the invoices so that they could place a legal Mechanics Lien on my 1967 **** Mustang. This is one of the most powerful legal tools that Collin County Customs a Laborer has to secure payment for unpaid labor/materials provided to a privately owned Property Note: all invoices where paid totaling ********* this is how much I had to fight Collin County Customers to STOP that also Breach our Contract.

Our response - This is another assertion that is not an honest recitation of the facts. Mr. ******* had no reason to suspect we would do a mechanics lien. We assisted Mr. ******* with loading up all his parts and our whole crew helped load up his car on the tow truck. He even had an outstanding balance of over $800 and we still released the car to him.. We have never done a mechanics lien on anyone since we opened doors in 2013 and to date we have over 611 clients which we have done extensive restorations and repairs with no issues.
We stand behind our work and our approach of doing business. Anyone is welcome to read our ****** reviews and see that we are a highly rated shop and go above and beyond to make our clients happy. Mr. ******** assertions are not an honest recitation of the facts and are only being used to degrade our reputation that we have worked very hard to maintain.
