We requested a 1035 insurance exchange with from ******* National April 28th, 2021. To this date they have not signed off on the transfer after having multiple phone and email conversations, we are still being charged a premium. When on the phone they condicending a rude, when I (a female) request information I am told they can't help me, but when my male broker calls, he is given the information I have directly requested multiple times. ******* National claims that it hasn't been submitted to compliance... Buyer beware, if you ever purchase a policy with this company they will string you along for months hoping you forget you are paying them and they will greatly delay in refunding you.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/26) */ According to Liberty ******** Life Insurance Company's (the "Company") records, there are two (2) policies insuring Ms. ******. On April 22, 2021, the Company received a 1035 exchange for one policy, which was processed on April 28, 2021. The other policy is still being drafted, as it appears we have no record of receiving a 1035 exchange request. However, if New York Life could provide us copies of the request for this policy dated back in April 2021, we would refund the premiums back to that date for Ms. ****** and process the 1035 exchange as of May 1, 2021. Since October 2020, I have sought an in force illustration for my two whole life policies as well as my wife's. I have made approximately 4 different attempts over the year and each time I am told 30-90 days; however, I have yet to receive any documents from Liberty National (Military Policy). The closest to a response that I have received was in January 21, where I received a response stating that my request was forwarded to the appropriate group. Customer service has repeatedly informed me that the actuary department is backed up, that their system is down, or that they are under staffed. I would like for Liberty National to respond to my request and to provide my in force illustration so I can assess the value of my policy.Business response

It appears the Inforce Illustrations were not mailed to Mr. ****** in a timely manner due to a clerical oversight. I had opened a life insurance policy with national life group out of Addison tx. The agent karyn ******. I have contacted the company for my money and all they can say it's in contract that your money had to grow and so I want to cancel and stop putting money in the account. I should get my money back. Now they have robbed me and taken my money and I want it back.Business response

I have been harassed by ******* National Insurance company since December 2020 on an account that was closed over the phone with an additional letter sent in the mail October 2020, after a letter from my existing insurance company was sent to ******* National stating that the policy is closing. All the policies (Yashica ******** and Imani ********) was finally closed in December 2020 with a check sent to me (has been cashed) for the cash value. I have file multiple complaints with the in the Insurance Commissioner of both the State of Georgia and Texas, written multiple letters to have my phone number removed from the calling list, and sent sent electronic letters to have this issue resolved. I have experience a few agents even threaten me for at that time $5 due, which didn't make since because the policies were canceled at a $0 balance.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2021/09/08) */ ******* National Life Insurance Company (the "Company) acknowledges Ms. ********'s complaint and apologizes for any inconvenience that she may have experienced as a result of the Company contacting her regarding her lapsed coverage. The Company placed Ms. ********'s contact information on our 'do not contact' list in February of 2021. However, it can sometimes take a period of weeks for the 'do not contact' lists to be updated. For conservation purposes, it appears the agency office contacted Ms. ******** prior to the updated list being generated. Ms. ******** will no longer be contacted by the agency office. I was sold a $5000 life insurance policy with Liberty National over a year ago and when I contacted them about increasing it, was informed that it was only for what I had paid, Plus 4% and not the $5000 that I had signed up for. I was talking to a new agent recently and she wants me to cancel it and receive a $13 cash value and start a new policy. I want all the monies that I paid into the account returned due to the fact that they changed my policy without consent or notice and then continued to charge me for a policy that was almost worthless. I signed up for a $5000 but that isn't what they gave me, it feels more like a bait and switch operation.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/09/02) */ After review of the complaint and Liberty National Life Insurance Company's (the "Company") records, it appears that we were unable to issue Mr. **********'s original policy for $5,000.00 due to underwriting concerns. However, we offered a policy for a reduced death benefit amount of $2,500.00. The full face of Mr. **********'s Modified Life Policy will be $2,500.00 once the policy has passed the third policy anniversary. If Mr. ********** dies of natural causes during the first 3 years of the policy, the benefit payable will be premiums paid in, plus interest. After the third policy anniversary, the death benefit will be $2,500.00. It further appears the C.O.D. Letter of Transmittal indicates that the agent reviewed this policy change with Mr. ********** on February 28, 2020, which was prior to issuance of this policy, and Mr. ********** signed the form consenting to the policy change. Furthermore, if Mr. ********** would kindly write to the Company's Legal Department at P.O. Box ***** McKinney, Texas XXXXX-XXXX with any further questions or concerns, we will gladly assist him. Thank you. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/09/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) That is a lie, why would I continue a policy for half the purchased amount and no one ever told about the change. I would like to know why the policy was reduced since they told me as long as the cancer was over 10 years ago it would not be a factor and at that time, I had been cancer free for over 20 years and am still cancer free. This company is very deceitful in their practices. Once again, they have never given a reason for the reduction in benefits nor did I ever agree to it. I want all of my payments returned to me because the policy you have is not what I purchased. I had cancer over 20 years ago and was told it was not a factor. Your people lied to me and now your corporate office is lying as well because you know the amount I'm asking for is not enough to get a lawyer involved. I don't understand how an operation such as this is allowed to lie and deceive people and get away with. Your operation is shameful to say the least.
