4/30/2022 I made an appointment for my dog Luna to have her 2nd flu vaccine. I explained that she already had her 1st injection at VCA Forney Animal Hospital and would be due on 4/30/2022. I had someone else take Luna to her appointment due to I was working. The visit was $102.50. I was charged a $50 exam fee, which I was not informed about and have never paid a vet for before because an exam was not needed just a vaccine given. She was just there a couple weeks ago and an exam plus blood work was done then. I was also charged the price of two vaccines when only one vaccine was given. No treatment plan was given prior or the person who took Luna would have declined as would I. I called to inquire about the fees and there was a huge miscommunication to me making me believe that my dog had received the wrong vaccine. I finally spoke with the tech who stated that an exam fee is always charged with a vaccine and that the one vaccine includes two different strands of the flu and the price is $24.50 per strand even though it is one injection. At VCA Forney Animal Hospital the same vaccine is $26. No management was there to handle my situation because it was a Saturday. Due to the fact we were not informed of the exam fee and double charged for the vaccine, I strongly feel that I should be reimbursed the exam fee of $50 and $24.50 for the vaccine. The business is overcharging and not informing their customers of the unnecessary exam fee that they charge. This is wrong and should be stopped.
