My very elderly mother purchased the Air Specialist AC/Heat system in 2018 with 5 year warranty. After installation they DID NOT pass Inspection. That was the first RED Flag. Second inspection passed. The first 2-yrs all was well except for some condensation issues which may have been related to installation. In 8/2022 a UV Light in attic was installed for $435. In 10/2023 smelling molding odor - cleared drains, coil cleaning; adding French drain and adding AC line outside of home - $1,294. May of 2024 Spring Check for $80.00, however my mom said the Service Rep did not go into the Attic - very small house - he said he did. Oct 5, 2024 - found condenser not coming on because float switch activated and turned system off - cleared drains, chemical clean. Advised to replace filter more often when the filter was being changed as required - was charged $598. Lastly, on Oct 28, 2024 a day before scheduled Fall Check (scheduled Oct 29, 2024) the AC condenser began to "smoke" and Smoke Alarm signaled. Thank goodness my mother was mentally sharp enough and turned the AC system off! She called me (daughter). I went to her home and immediately called Air Specialist and CANCELLED her Fall Check to get a second opinion. I called another very reliable AC/Heat company and was told the AC system was dysfunctional and that continued "patch" jobs over the past 1.5 years would NOT have improved; nor currently improve and warned it may burn. I feel Air Specialist should have been more honest with my mom instead of just continuing to charge her for repairs on the AC/Heat System that was NEVER going to operate properly again. My advice to any potential and/or current customers to have 2 people available when AS Rep is scheduled to be at your home. Finally, I declare that Air Specialist should improve and be more honest on the Installation, Operation, Training Service Reps, and the Communication process all with customers!!! AL/cl

I have used Air Specialist for 13 years and was very satisfied with their service until this year. Most recently, I had an estimate of $1,750 to replace insulation on the refrigerant lines that were causing water damage to the sheetrock from condensation. I questioned the cost, but was told that the refrigerant lines needed to be cut and pumped down so that the insulation could slide over the lines, then welded back and the system recharged. I approved the work, but when the crew arrived I was told that refrigerant lines would not need to be cut, so there would be no welding or system shutdown/recharge/restart needed. I immediately called their office to resolve the discrepancy, but did not receive a call back from their supervisor by the time they completed the work about 4 hours later. I received an email invoice the next day for $1,750 with the scope of work specifying the refrigerant line cutting/welding/system restart etc. tasks. After several attempts to reach the supervisor a week later, I received a revised invoice for $1,250 with the generic notation "Adjustment on repairs that were not completed", with no other explanation. $500 seemed like a very low adjustment for not doing the refrigerant line cutting/welding/recharge/startup (and such a nice, round number), so I called again, having never spoken to the supervisor. I finally spoke to him, and he said his mimimum charge for sending out a crew was $1,037 and the rest was materials. I was skeptical of the adjustment amount and asked for a revised invoice specifying the work performed and said I would re-evaluate my reliance on Air Specialist if their mimimum charge was $1,037. The supervisor agreed that I should look elsewhere for A/C service.

Called because I was locked out of my thermostat. Technician said it could not be reset and they charged me $604 for a new thermostat. After repair was done and I could see what old thermostat was I looked at their manual online and it said if you were locked out contact their technical support for assistance in resetting your thermostat. The thermostat they sold me got $604 sells on Amazon for $140 dollars. Have contacted air specialist twice for assistance with these charges and was told the person I needed to speak with was unavailable but they took my name and phone number and told me someone would contact me to resolve this issue. It has been 6 weeks and still no return call.

Paid $1,584 for ac repair. Advised leak and was repaired by Steve yesterday 10/31/22. Air conditioner worked for approximattely five hours at most. At 9 pm ac showed 77 degrees fan turned on but did not cool 74 degrees. A/C ran fan all night. Outdoor temp was in low 60's, so no hot weather stress. Phoned air specialist, Steve repairman came out stated must have sprung another leak and that's that. I'm retired fixed income cannot afford to give away $1,584, Company repairman should have verified checked if further repairs needed which he took less than 2 hours to repair/check unit. I would have taken a loan to purchase new air conditioner instead of paying $1,584 for nothing. This company takes no responsibility for wasted repair $$$$. Phoned company advised manager would call me back with no response. Even advised Steve I would have purchased a new A/C if advised that repair was a waste of my hard earned money. Please think twice before using this company.

I called this company because of the reviews seen on ****** and it impressed me. I will say they are professional and friendly, unfortunately what they lacked was service to work with me on my issues. When the technician (Carlos) arrived at my home my outside unit (compressor) was working properly and was cooling my home to 76 degrees with the ac set at 74 degrees in the hottest part of the day. Carlos found a slight leak in the inside unit (condenser) and thought to add refrigerant (coolant) to help cool the home more adequately with the idea because of the leak found the system wasn't charged. After adding half a pound of refrigerant he then left without charging me for the service which would've costed $76. I thought that was very generous but after he left I turned my ac back on only to find that my ac wasn't cooling at all, It completely stopped cooling. I was surprised at that point that Carlos didn't even come inside my home to check and see if my home was going to cool, mind you it was 95 degrees out and now 89 degrees inside my home. I immediately called Carlos to see what would cause the ac to completely stop cooling at this point. We went from having a slight leak in the inside unit to now having the outside unit not cooling the home at all. He said as soon as he finished the next service call he would come back and check out why such a change in the entire system and why it is now not cooling at all. He came back and took the refrigerant he added back out to see if that caused the now malfunctioning outside compressor. After exhausting the refrigerant into the air he checked his display and found it made no difference because the compressor was now just not working properly. I must say that I had a working compressor when he arrived to having a malfunctioning compressor after he left. The companies only defense is that it just went out at that exact moment. The entire ac unit is only 9 years old and what went from slight leak in the condenser and the
