1 starI rented a machine returned it to a different location, received multiple text messages from ******* ***** threatening to involve law enforcement and he even text multiple members of my household. I never gave them any references nor did I give them permission to contact me or my family. It's beyond harassment. I e already told the guy from dollar general it was returned to another location.Review fromWill P

1 starI had a RugDoctor machine and was having issues with it not working correctly. I ended up taking it to a local repair shop in February 2024. After a week or two, was advised that the pump was bad and had to be replaced. They stated they ordered it.Two weeks later, I was advised RugDoctor did not have any record of it. It was reordered. A month goes by and when I call the local shop, they state RugDoctor has it on back order. Another month goes by and the same thing and then a third month with the same. The local shop finally got fed up with getting no answers from RugDoctor that they gave me their phone number and their store code. I called them on June 19, 2024 and was advised that it was on backorder, but they were looking into it and I would have an email by June 21, 2024. June 21, 2024 comes and goes, no email. I call again on July 3, 2024 asking for an update and the lady who spoke to me had a very short tone and told me all they can say it is on backorder.I asked about the previous call and the email I was to receive and asked for that rep to call me back. The current rep said she would have them call me. July 10, 2024, I call again after receiving no email, no call back. I ask for a supervisor right away. I was told they don't have a way to transfer calls to supervisors and I asked for a call back.July 17, 2024. No call no email still. I call them back and speak with another rep, they say they see that there were notes about the supervisor call back and confirmed my number. I advised I had no call back and they stated they would send another email to a supervisor and cc a manager.July 24, 2024. Still no email, no call back. Worst customer service I think I have had in a long time. I have been trying to get this machine back for over 5 months now. If they won't ever get the part, that is fine, just tell me that. Not responding to multiple inquires or going radio silent is not acceptable. Run away from this company.Review fromHolly H

1 starWell wished I had read these reviews before my first rental! The Rug Doctor I rented was TERRIBLE! I had to spend an hour cleaning it before I was able to use it. Discovered missing screws on top of all the nasty hair and dirt that I cleaned out. Reached out to Rug Doctor to make an Incident Report after being told I was unable to get a refund at the store I rented from. Was told to send in my store receipt in order for incident report to be viewed. Received a denial hours later before I even sent in the receipt now, I have gotten the CRICKETS everyone else had issues with. How is this scamming company still in business?Review fromTyler J

1 starDigusting machines. They do not clean them, so they ruined my rug. They filed a complain, ************************* doesn't respond to 5+ emails, and then the denial letter sent. The letter basically says I used attachments or the wrong cleaning liquid which is wrong.DO NOT USE THEMReview fromJadyn W

1 starAWFUL EXPERIENCE! Not only are the machines unreliable, the company tries to rip you off.I have rented Rug Doctor cleaning machines for years and have been satisfied. Recently rented a machine. Got it home, and discovered it sprayed just a 3-inch strip of water. Took it apart as much as possible to try to fix. No luck. Called their help line and went through the same steps again with the technician, who finally told us to take it back to the store for a replacement or refund. (This is a 20-minute trip either direction for me.) At the store, no other machines available. Received assurance via phone that our payment would be refunded. Received email same day that a refund was being processed. SIXTEEN DAYS LATER, I still had not received a refund. Called customer service. Rep said there was a "glitch in the system." Profitable glitch for them, I guess. She told me I will receive a refund within a week. Never apologized. In addition to all this, on the original rental day, I went to another local store to try to get a machine. They had two machines there, but the cashier said BOTH MACHINES WERE NON-FUNCTIONAL, and that Rug Doctor service has been awful in recent years.Review fromMicah B

1 starRented a machine from Rug Doctor, LLC and forgot to return it promptly. Rug Doctor, LLC charged my card on file for the full cost of the machine, as agreed. The machine was returned in good working order, and my card was charged the appropriate rate for the extended rental, BUT, the charge for the entire machine was not refunded. Only after contacting Rug Doctor, LLC customer service did they agree to a refund of the full cost of the machine and stated that if I had not called, Rug Doctor, LLC would have no way of knowing the machine was returned. This is untrue, and an indication of Rug Doctor LLC's nefarious business practice as they knew full and well the machine was returned because they charged me the cost for the extra few days of a rental. I will never do business with Rug Doctor LLC in the future and believe they should be investigated for predatory behavior.Review fromAllen T

1 starI rented a RD machine and the machine cleaned my carpet just fine. The problem I have is when I emptied the dirty water into my toilet the inside (red) filter came apart and the white float inside the filter went into my toilet, lodged in the p-trap and clogged my toilet. Had to call a plumber and have my toilet removed and this float extracted. This was a major inconvenience and also not cheap. I filed an incident report on line. After 7 days I heard nothing from RD. I had to call. Horrible prompts to **** through and horrible wait times. I finally was able to speak to ******. Apparently a manager I've been told. She assured me my incident will be reviewed and someone will contact me. Three days have now gone by; crickets! Had to call again. Now, they have no recollection of my incident report; it can't be found according to *****. I am now given an email address from ***** and instructed to re-submit my claim all over again. I have done so and will, again, wait to hear back. I have photos and even video of the plumber extracting the float from my toilet as well as all receipts.I consider this a pretty open and shut case. Their machine was not maintained and parts fell out of it into my toilet and clogged my toilet. I feel I should be reimbursed for the plumbing charge I had to pay. That's all I want. But what's REALLY infuriating is their lack of customer service and follow up! Horrible! Inconvenience to me! BBB : I hope you can say/or do something to this company to make them DO BETTER. To all consumers: beware of this company. Think twice before renting from them.**************Review fromKim B.

1 starWe have purchased 4 different RD Machines over 20 yrs, and numerous accessories. Our first purchase was the Wide Track Rug Doctor machine which we still own today. It is currently in our house in *****. 3 years ago we purchased the Rug Doctor Pro along with the Grout and Upholstery attachments. On 12/15, I used it do some upholstery cleaning prior to the holiday. After filling the tank, the solution poured on my floor and none came out of the hose. I contacted your company and after 25 minutes, reached one of your reps to try and figure out what was wrong. I was asked provide the proof of purchase and a summary of the problem, so they could send me a ***. I replied immediately. I asked for Rug Doctor to supply a rental, since the one I purchased and is still under warranty. She agreed to elevate to her supervisor, who call me back within 48 hours. I waited the 48 hours and did not receive a call. I then decided to rent a machine from Publix to complete my cleaning prior to our guests arriving. I loaded and unloaded the machine into my car (I am 58 years old) and took it home to begin the cleaning. After setting it all up, I started to use the machine and the suction was not working. I then put the machine into my car, went back to Publix, where they provided another machine to me with the upholstery attachment. I brought it home, proceeded to use it and the solution was still not coming out. I attached my upholstery attachment and it worked fine. I contacted Rug Doctor again regarding the lack of a *** and again requested the follow-up of a supervisor to call me regarding the reimbursement of the rental. To date, I still have not received the *** or a call from a supervisor regarding the rental. It is now 1/4/23. I am beyond astonished that this is how your company treats a loyal customer. My ticket # is *******. I would appreciate contact from your company regarding this egregious lack of customer service.
